I’ve noticed that there is even some concern about whether the giro and the Tour De France might be canceled because of the Coronavirus !
The Giro is scheduled for May 12 and Italy has canceled all events through April 3. Of course the Tour De France is in July so hopefully all is over by then but who knows ? The whole world seems to be in panic mode ! I think we all should be prudent and aware of proper precautions but it seems like we are overreacting!

This time tomorrow stage 1 of the Tour De France will be in the books! This year there are a number of Vegas Sportsbooks offering odds on it. Perhaps it’s because there are so few options in Sports these crazy days ! I was going to cancel my daily comments due to lack of interest by RX posters but for lack of much other action... I’m back !
My early pick would have been last years winner Egan Bernal. However nobody expected that both Chris Froome and Geraint Thomas wouldn’t even make the Team ! So switching to Roglic with his awesome Jumbo Team supporting him was a no brainer ! However then happened some serious setbacks on stage 4 of the Dauphine ! Roglic took a nasty spill but even bigger was the serious crash that took Steven Kruijswijk out of this years Tour. Steven K finished 3 rd in last years TDF, so obviously a big loss. I’m sticking with Bernal to win this year’s Tour but I had already made some insurance bets on Roglic with both Roglic’s teammate Tom Dumoulin now more of a threat. No doubt between the Virus, crashes in Dauphine and the shockingly decline of Thomas and Froome, this year’s Tour is tough to predict. Also due to Virus concerns, lots of rule changes regarding fans etc. Good Luck everyone !

Before we declare Ineos fall, we must note that they not only have the defending Champ in Bernal but also the defending Giro Champion in Carapaz and a few other s like Michael K and Sivakov who can climb with the best of them.

Roglic is their stud and he MUST be healthy , am assuming he is. Dumoulin provides leadership to the team, he has won a Grand Tour, won the Giro in 2018 (defintely a strong mountain rider!!). The team will allow eiher Roglic/Dumoulin to go for it in the mountains, its not like Tom is there to protect Roglic. Also, Tom is a very good Time Trialist, beat Froome a few yrs ago at the Tour

Today’s stage is won by Alexander Kristoff followed by Mars Petersen with Cees Bol taking 3 rd. The big developments were the numerous crashes that happened ! Pavel Sivakoz, George Bennett and Thibaut Pinot All took nasty falls and it remains to see how their crashes will affect them as Tomorrow’s stage 2 is a really tough Mountain stage !

Today’s stage went pretty much as expected with Julian Alaphilippe winning the stage as well as the Yellow Jersey as leader of the Tour. Marc Hirschi took second with Adam Yates coming in 3 rd. Top contenders for GC were all right there at the finish. I’d say it was a good day for Team Ineos as they were right up front at the end with Pavel Sivakoz who took two nasty falls yesterday doing what he needed to do by just simply surviving ! They might need his climbing ability in the final week when climbs get serious !
Stage 3 was very exciting if you had money on the sprinters or the overall green jersey winner.
