Long descent ! Can Alaphilippe catch up ? Bernal is making his move but is this downhill finish going to allow him to hold his gain ! Like I mentioned yesterday that this stage isn’t perfect for Bernal as the next two stages are mountain top finishes !

I think it was a great day for Bernal as he gained 30 seconds on all his GC contenders. Nairo Quintana of course wins today’s stage but nobody in the GC race really cared as they don’t think he’s a challenge nor do I. Great comeback by Alaphilippe to hold onto the yellow Jersey but the next two stages will see his lead fade. JMHO

I think tomorrow is the day to look out for Pinot ! I know Pinot has a home in Tignes and regular trains there in the high altitude. I think he might just remain a co favorite with Bernal.

and Thomas had to let Bernal go, Its Team over individual

Tomorrow’s stage features a HC rated climb up Col de l’lseran 13 km long! It’s brutal and it is rewarded with 3 time bonus of 8,5 and 3. Then of course the final finish has time bonuses of 10,6 and 4. I would think the likes of Pinot and Bernal will be aware of these bonus points in this extremely close race. GL !

Interesting for sure but what book are you taking these from ? Since I’ve got Bernal from the start, i think this might be a great time to cover with some money on Pinot. He’s only 20 seconds down to Bernal and 15 down to Thomas. 5 dimes is always late to show their odds on the Tour so I’ll post when they are up ! I don’t have any confidence that Alaphilippe will be in lead after stages 19 and 20. Stick a fork in him BUT it’s been a great ride and he’s really lit up this year’s Tour !
