I have been a 40 year customer and only wear nikes. Frankly I dont want to be seen in public now decked out in nikes. I won't burn my stuff, but I certainly have no desire to buy anything more from them. It was unnecessary for nike to create animosity with this campaign. Reward someone for creating a fake controversy. Kap is so stupid he praised the Cuban health care system.

And here we go.
The question is are there more kennyBs in this world or more mobdeepers?

But you also have to factoring in the following:

Kennyb dont have to leave his house to live up to his end of the deal.

All he has to do is exactly nothing and its free. According to him he has been a loyal customer for 40 years. Thats probably at least 3 to 5k conservatively money spent on Nike the last 40 years conservatively speaking.

Then on the other side you have mob and people like him.

He has to do a lot more then kenny.

Not only does he have to continue paying big money for Nike products, he actually has to buy even more Nike products then he would have before this kap shit started.

If he just stays the same in his Nike purchases Nike gains nothing and loses kenny,

your entire comment was correct until there. i agree with everything you said until you assumed that only old white people have a problem with it. we have no need to discuss the stance but people who support the police, the military or the president will take issue. its a lot more than just old white people. long term i think i agree that nike will be fine and likely get the support of other athletes which will sign with nike. people have made their point there. but its not just old white people who dislike this.

I didnt necessarily imply that old white people are upset at Nike. I was just stating that their target audience is more like 15-22 year olds of all races. Which really does mean this move does make business sense.

I know at some of the local high schools - football and cheerleading squads are switching to UA, these are all young kids that hate Kap

Chop,

Do you workout at a gym? If so, are you truly seeing people making comment to each other over wearing NIKE gear? Seems a little far fetched to me.

i hope some news outlet brings to light how hypocritical it is for Nike to be about equality when even last year people were protesting in the united states regarding nikes inequality towards their own workers. they are walking both sides of the fence here as it comes to the issue. profiting on both. if you get the liberal activists who are against child labor laws boycotting along with the conservatives that support military, police, and trump together than yes nike would be in some trouble......albeit temporarily because it is possible to be to big to fail

No way is that there target audience at all.

Do you realize millions of kids aged 5-15 play sports year round? Who buys the 1K a year sports apparel for those kids? 20 year old kids don’t have money but 40-year-old soccer moms do.

If it's such a great move, why not do it last year when Kaep was actually relevant?

For such a "cutting edge" move, it feels 12 months too late at best.

Another thing about this is that if it was such a great strategic move, why do it now?

Do it a year ago when the flame was burning white hot on all of this stuff and Kaepnerick was spending his first year not in the NFL. Maybe it would've appealed to people more then. It is lagging badly behind the cultural zeitgeist that the issue has created. It just feels so old news to me. That's the first thing I thought about when I saw it was "Kaepernick? It's 2018? Ya a year late at best"

I could be wrong but I really do not see too many people saying "You see Nike was down with the cause? Let's go hitup the mall!"

Luckily for them, 125k people move to the US a month and most of them probably don't care, not to mention they have a massive global operation and buying sports apparel probably isn't going out of style anytime soon. Their moat is big enough that they can make dumb decisions.

You just want it to go away like a lot of people who have a problem with it. Do it now because it WONT go away no matter what. This was 3 summers ago we first started talking about it. Every radio caller was calling in and wanted to talk about this. The local radio hosts where I live were begging people to stop. A lot of people do not want to get involved. I am sure Nike wanted to see where it went and how it all looked at first. Remember for one year everyone was saying and lying that he couldn't play in the NFL. GM's, coaches, people on this forum, etc. But once Eric Reid was then blackballed from the NFL, it was written in stone that shit is real about this. They tried to sweep that shit under the rug. The dude was a former pro bowl safety and 26 years old. He clearly wasn't done. Yet, he had the same exact fate as Kaeperknick. Both who were the first to kneel. It's obvious what the NFL did and that they were wrong.

This Patsfan.

And who's that soccer mom going to listen to. You really think they're so passionate that they're going to tell their kids that they have to buy a different brand? I don't. If the kids say NIKE, Mom is buying NIKE.

You’re part of the Twitter mob which isn’t real life. Be better.

That’s what I find so fascinating about this. Why take the risk? We shouldn’t even be talking about it.

If you think none of this matters why do companies spend 3.5 mill for a 30 second clip during the super bowl.
You are acting as if none of this marketing has any real effect one way or the other.

It indeed does
