When would you say this started drying up?

I can't imagine anything like that is around now.

I started in the fall of 2000, and was very active until Neteller shut down for US players, 2006? That pretty
much killed the online casino business for US players. You could still play, and I still did some deals, but
it was a lot harder to get money in and out...

Yeah I remember there was one site that it was $100 every month and I'd keep playing but I got bored with it. So eventually I'd just start betting $20-30 off the bat to try to be done with it in 15 minutes rather than 2 hours.

Did you ever have a site tell you to play more? This is so long ago but I think I remember a site telling me to play more because it was for "recreational players"

Most sites had it clearly written in the terms and conditions, that they required X amount of rollover before you could cash-out. I think at cryptologic sites it was
built into the software, i.e. you couldn't cash out until the wagering was finished.

Yeah that's right because I found it in like 2006. I remember the guys name now, you may know this guy. Scurv or something? He had this huge writeup of every site to get bonuses (just tried to google it, found nothing) but he was big into it. I probably found it on a gambling board. I think he made a ton doing it.

You guys should give aclv1 a break, his avatar is Pete Rose, not exactly the smartest gambler around either<:)<:)

Wonder if Pete would split 8's vs dealers 10?

Yeah but the X amount was still +EV for the player. I.e 200 bonus, lose 50-70 playing for $1 and then cashing out. So once you met the rollover you could just stop and cashout.

The sites didn't give you any problems for that?

Um, blackjack is not about *balls*. It's about making the correct play. Unless you equate having *balls* to throwing money away.

You clearly have no clue about probability and expected value in gambling.

Computer simulations have shown over *billions* of hand simulations, and I'm sure it's been mathematically been proven also,
that in this situation (pair of 8's vs. dealer 10), the expected values are the following:

splitting: -48% of original bet amount
hitting: -54% of original bet amount

So, clearly both moves have an expected loss, but in not splitting, your expected loss is more.

I split 8s against a 10 since it's the right thing to do long term. I basically hope I'll get lucky by drawing a 2 or 3...so I can win one of them and break even on the hand. Starting with a 16 and not losing money against a face card isn't an entirely terrible result.

Most didn't give you any problem, but there were a few that would lock you out if they labelled you a "bonus hunter." A few names I can remember:

casino888.com
slotland.com - had blackjack....

Yeah I had a few give me problems, but like I said I didn't do it until the 9th inning basically.

The cool thing is once you do that, you pretty much never wanna play blackjack or any -EV house edge game at a casino again. So it probably me a lot of $ in that sense. Didn't even think of that.

Is there still a lot of bonus hunting opportunity for non-US residents? It must've extended past '06 for them, but not all the way to now.

especially yours.... i would love to deal you .... i offer 60/40 surrender

I'll probably fall asleep at the table.

Not a big fan of table games with fixed odds.

Just was saying the way to play to lose the least amount of $.

ok...so you guys are telling me you would rather have two hand with an 8 and a card underneath against the dealer with a 10 and a card underneath?

just play the one hand win or lose the unit.

why risk 2 units ? that is the dumbest reasoning I aver came across.... people have no balls to hit a 16
and i dont give a fuck what the count is at

Obviously you also don't a fuck about being able to win money at the game either
