[FONT=&quot]In my opinion, the best team in the competition faces off on the last day of the 1<sup>st</sup> set of games in the group stage against the Swiss. Swiss hosted the Euros in which Spain won the final against Germany. Do that mean anything? Not really, except that Spain get far in big competitions. They opened the Euros with a 4-1 thrashing of Russia, and opened the Confederation Cup with a 5-0 beating of New Zealand. Not to mention in WC2006, they beat a strong Ukraine team 4-0 in their opening game. And these are teams similar to the nature of Switzerland in size, but most would say all those teams are better. Now I know those are different competitions at different times and the way this tournament is shaping up, blow outs are at a minimum. If it means anything to me, its that they love coming out strong, the first game to them is very important. They will attack from the get go, and the nucleus of the team plays much more together than other powerhouses such as Brazil and England. The star striker Fernando Toress will be out, he is a dominating force but I don’t think it will matter much, with David Villa leading the lines. Villa the highly tipped lead goal scorer of the competition along with his world class midfielder Xavi, will lead Spain to an easy victory. I have no doubt that they win this game, I am just put in a situation once again where if you want to bet on the favorite you have to pay for it. I will never bet on a ML with that much juice, so I will pound the -1 and lay on the 1.5 as well. <o

[FONT=&quot]I liked Uruguay to win this group at the start and I still do. This is a team that picks up momentum as they go. South Africa will want to earn points as their last game will be against France. If one scores early, which I can see happening, the other will shortly equalize, leaving me to believe that there could be a winner. So far we have only seen 2 games with more than 2 goals, and that was the Germany blow out and the fluke game we witnessed yesterday. Plus you add the advantage of South Africa playing at home and looking to please the fans with another scoring performance. Plus if you give Uruguay some of the chances Mexico had, then we will have an exciting one. Enjoy<o

[FONT=&quot]I don’t often like to take as many favorites as im taking but I got to believe I know what Im talking about. Chile finished 2<sup>nd</sup> in South American qualifying, getting quality wins along the way against Argentina and Paraguay. They played impressive in there friendless beating most by more than 1 goal. I think the problem with chili though is that they don’t have much leadership. The younger players tend to stray out of position making for a disorganized team at times. A lot of their function comes down the wings, with the 4-3-3 formation, they need players such as Mark Gonzalez and Sanchez to provide the chances. Honduras is more of a threat in there region. Beating the likes of Costa Rica and El Salvador to get here don’t really convince me. The way these games have been shaping up, the over is a risk, but I think if Chili scores first at a descent time, Honduras wont try to play limitation and hope for the best, they will attack back. I still think the -1 is worth a play even tho the ML is dropping. Also it is worth noting that Suazo for Chile will be a game time choice, it be nice to see him in the lineup at kick off.<o
