Trace Adams Thursday Game Analysis

Thursday's Selection ...

For Thursday night in the NFL, Top-Rated 1000♦ on home underdog Oakland as they take on division-rival Denver from Alameda County. At the time I release this selection, the Raiders are +10 point home dogs to Denver.

Yeah, I know, backing a "dog with fleas" here, as the Raiders have lost 5 in a row straight up and are 0-4-1 against the spread in those 5 losses. They were also spanked 37-6 back on Week 4 in Denver against Peyton Manning and the Broncos, but I have uncovered some compelling stats that support a play on the very generous points.

For one thing, while the Broncos have won 7 in a row, the points have caught up with them the past 3 weeks, as they are 0-2-1 versus the line in those games, and the Broncs are also just 2-4 ATS the last 6 series meetings versus Oakland.

Some say Oakland has quit on Coach Dennis Allen, but if you can't at least rally for this guy the week his father passed away and give a 100% effort, then I don't know what kind of player you are? Believe it or not, this is the first time all season the Raiders have been playing back-to-back home games, and playing them on a short week is always an advantage to the host, especially when you consider the Broncos are off a tough home win over Tampa Bay (that clinched the division), and do have a tough road game at Baltimore up next.

I can easily see Denver leaving the door ajar for the inside the back-door cover for the Raiders, as Oakland is expected to get back both Goodson and McFadden which should bolster their offensive attack by keeping Denver from dropping back and guarding against the pass.

Finally, the stat that blew my mind, double-digit division home dogs have gone 21-1 against the spread over the years. That stat is just too good to pass on. Take the points and go with the Silver-and-Black to at least keep this game close.

My only fear is that this jackass keeps bouncing back and forth and losing all of the plays. let's hope he finds consistency.

Fade Adams Friday Game Analysis

[h=4]Friday's Selection ...[/h] For Friday night in the NBA, Raise the Bar 1500♦ Road Warrior Lock is the Memphis Grizzlies as the favorite against the New Orleans Hornets. At 8:00 am eastern time when I release this selection, the Grizzlies are listed as the -7 1/2 point road favorite both in Vegas and offshore.

Not sure if you are aware of this, but Memphis is 13-3 straight up as they head to the hardwood this Friday night in the Crescent City, and they have dominated the Hornets of late, winning 5 of the last 6 series meetings straight up and they have covered in 7 of the last 10 overall series meetings. That mark includes a 5-1 spread uptick in the Big Easy.

Look for things to be BIG and EASY again tonight for the sizzling Grizz, as Memphis is 4-2 straight up on the road this season, and 5-1 against the spread in those 6 roadies.

As for New Orleans, the Hornets are on a 2-10 slide straight up and they have only covered 3 of 9 thus far this season when listed as the home underdog.

Same old, same old tonight as Memphis peppers New Orleans once again

Fade Adams Saturday Game Analysis

[h=4]Saturday's Selection ...[/h] For Saturday in college basketball, Highest-Rated 2000♦ Winner #8 of 11 goes on the visiting Colorado Buffaloes as the underdog against the Kansas Jayhawks. As of 10:05 pm eastern when I release this selection, Colorado is listed as the +11 1/2 point underdog both in Vegas and offshore.

First meeting between Colorado and Kansas as non-conference members, as Colorado now resides in the Pacific 12 and stands at 7-1 straight up as they look to give a jolt to the Jayhawks at the Allen Field House.

Kansas last played on November 30th in a 6-point win (as the double-digit favorite) over Oregon State. I expect the Rock-Chalkers to be just a little slow out of the gate versus a Buffs team that is off to their best start since the late 1980's. Tad Boyle has a couple of premiere players in Spencer Dinwiddie and Andre Roberson, so I doubt highly if the Buffaloes lose touch at a venue they are quite familiar with from their Big 12 days.

KU has been favored by double-digits 5 times already this season, and they have covered just once in those 5. The Jayhawks may be 9-0 straight up since the 2008 season versus the Buffaloes, but it is hard to overlook CU's 7-2 spread mark in those 9 games, including 2 of 3 covers last year.

Backing the Buffs to get the cover, and maybe if they are so inspired pull off the outright dog shocker. Take all the points you can get with Colorado.

Fade Adams Sunday Game Analysis

[h=4]Sunday's Selection ...[/h] For Sunday, Week 14 of the NFL season, 1500♦ Raise the Bar Sunday Winner #5 in a Row is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the favorite against the Philadelphia Eagles. At the time I release this pick to you, the Bucs are -7 1/2 point faves. If your price is -7 1/2, I want you to buy the half point down on Tampa Bay making them the -7 point choice.

We are at the point in the season where you just have to bite the bullet and take the favorites in situations such as this. Here you have an Eagles team that has lost 8 in a row straight up, and on the other hand you have a Tampa Bay team that is off a tough loss at Denver, but is still very much alive for a Wild Card slot this January.

The Eagles have announced that it will be Nick Foles under center for the rest of the season, but with an offensive line that is in shambles, and skill position players (McCoy, Jackson, Vick to name a few) that will be watching from the sidelines, it is hard to get excited about Philly's chances - even if they did cover at Dallas last Sunday night.

Tampa Bay has lost their last pair of games, but today is the day they end that skid and get back on track. The Bucs offense can generate points, and RB Martin figures to get his yards against the sieve-like Philly defense.

The Buccaneers have made good on each of their last 3 tries when listed as the favorite, and I like them to make good again today to keep their playoff hopes alive for another week.
