Fade Adams Thursday Game Analysis

[h=4]Thursday's Selection ...[/h] For Thursday night, 1500♦ Lead Pipe Lock Winner is the Rutgers Scarlet Knights as the home favorite against the visitiing Louisville Cardinals. As I type my analysis, the Knights are -3 point favorites. If your price is -3 or even -3 1/2 points, I want you to buy the half point down on Rutgers.

A ticket to the Orange Bowl, and a BCS bid is on the line tonight in North Jersey, and while the Scarlet Knights were outclassed last weekend by the surging Pitt Panthers, I think they are the play tonight in their home stadium under the ESPN lights.

Louisville made a late rally last week at home only to fall in overtime to Connecticut by a 23-20 count in overtime. It was the 'Ville's second straight loss, as they gave up 45 points the game before to Syracuse on the road the week prior. That to me is the difference...DEFENSE.

Rutgers has one, and Louisville's is a bit suspect. The Knights also get the advantage of defending a Cardinals team that is without their main running threat - Senorise Perry who went down on the 10th with a leg injury. Also consider QB Teddy Bridgewater suffered a broken left wrist in the loss to Connecticut and will certainly be compromised. Not good when you have to deal with a Rutgers defense that is every bit as tough as Connecticut's!

Under Charlie Strong, Louisville has been able to win and cover the last pair of series meetings, but overall the home team is 5-2 both straight up and against the spread the last 7 overall meetings.

Redbirds bring just a 4-7 spread mark into this one, while the Scarlet Knights are a positive 7-4 versus the number this season.

Louisville's injuries, a lesser defense, and being on the road all add up to a Rutgers win and cover.

Check out this video. It is the oldest video on the Trace Adams YouTube page from March 1st, 2007. He looks like some fucking bum off the street. And check out his In&Out Burger t-shirt that I think he slept in the night before, ha ha!

And of course there is his trusty old tarp backdrop that he bought at the Swap Meet.

Fade Adams Friday Game Analysis

[h=4]Friday's Selection ...[/h] For Friday in college football, Highest-Rated College Football 2000♦ Winner #6 of 8 is the visiting UCLA Bruins as the underdog against the host Stanford Cardinal. At the time I release this selection, the Bruins are +8 point underdogs.

Quick rematch from last week's 35-17 Stanford win and cover at UCLA. Had the Bruins won that game, they would be playing in Eugene for a second straight season against a Ducks team that beat them 49-31 in last year's Pac 12 Championship contest. It is important to note that the Uclans did cover as the +21 point underdog last year, and that underdogs in conference championship games last season went a profitable 5-1 against the spread overall.

Yes, it is a new postseason, but I believe Jim Mora Jrs. team will be closer in this game then they were last week, or last year for that matter. The UCLA seniors were able to get the USC "no-wins" monkey off their back, and they are talented enough to be in position to win this game outright tonight in Palo Alto.

The weather forecast is calling for rain, and UCLA did play much of their game against USC in the rain in the Rose Bowl, so they should feel just fine dealing with those kinds of elements should they present themselves.

Give the quarterback edge to Brett Hundley over his counterpart Kevin Hogan who is making just his fourth start of his career for Coach Shaw's Tree. Can't knock who Hogan has bested in knocking off then #2 Oregon in Oregon, but feel that playing the Bruins for the second time in less than a week is going to be much more difficult then it was last Saturday night.

UCLA has gone 3-1 against the spread in the underdog role this season with their lone misfire coming at the hands of Stanford last time out. Maybe not a revenge outright win for the Bruins, but definitely a game that goes right down to the wire.

Take the points and the Bruins in this Pac 12 title game.

Trace Adams Saturday Game Analysis

[h=4]Saturday's Selection ...[/h] For Saturday in college football, Highest-Rated College Football 2000♦ Winner #7 of 9 is underdog Georgia Bulldogs plus the points at the Georgia Dome against the Alabama Crimson Tide. At the time I release this selection at 6:30 am eastern time, the Bulldogs are +7 1/2 point underdogs both in Vegas and offshore. If your line should drop to Georgia +7, make sure to buy the half point to bump the Dawgs back up to +7 1/2 points.

No question Georgia's path to this game - not having to face either LSU, Alabama or even Texas A&M for that matter - was a little less treacherous than the road 'Bama needed to traverse to get to this game, but you have to play the teams on your schedule, and the Bulldogs did just that. You can knock QB Aaron Murray as he did indeed struggle against the 2 toughest defenses he faced (South Carolina and Florida), and there is no doubt he is going up against the school that leads the nation in total defense, but sometimes you have to throw caution to the wind and go with your gut.

UGA played in this game last season, made it close for a half, and then got crushed by LSU by a 42-10 count. A year older, a year wiser, and the Dawgs will also be bringing plenty of fans to this Atlanta location to back their cause. This Georgia team averages 38 points per game - which happens to be a school record. While the defense is arguably just as talented as Alabama's, they come in allowing a stingy 9 points per game over their last 5 wins.

Hard to find fault with Alabama's 27 wins in their last 28 games by 13 points or better, but I just believe the fact that Georgia comes into this game for a second straight season as a "seasoned" underdog is going to pay dividends plus the points.

Live underdog with the Dawgs in this SEC title game. Go Dawgs, sic'em!

Trace Adams Sunday Game Analysis

[h=4]Sunday's Selection ...[/h] For Sunday, Week 13 of the NFL season, 1500♦ Raise the Bar Sunday Winner #4 in a Row is the visiting Houston Texans as the faviorite against the Tennessee Titans. At the time I release this pick to you, the Texans are -7 point road faves. If your price is -7 or -7 1/2, I want you to buy the half point down on Houston.

Second of three games in a row on the road for the 10-1 Texans, and they do have a Monday night showcase contest on deck at New England next week, but I do not think Houston will be looking past this division rival. For one thing the Texans have had a few extra days rest as their last played on Thanksgiving Day in Detroit.

For another thing, Houston's defense has been pretty bad their past two games (both overtime wins), as they have allowed a whopping 68 points. Today is the day the vaunted defense had better get their act together, and after knocking Jake Locker out of the team's first meeting back at the end of September, chances look solid for another 38-14 reprise. OK, maybe not such a huge blowout, but I don't see the Titans getting much more than 2 touchdowns in this one.

Tennessee is just 1-3 both straight up and against the spread their last 4 games, and they have had their issues in season's past against lesser Houston teams, as the Texans have won 5 of the last 8 series meetings straight up, and are 5-2-1 against the number in those 8 games.

Houston's defense needs a "statement" before heading off to face Tom Brady and the high-scoring Patriots, and today is that "statement" day.
