Winning streaks start one winner at a time.
On Sunday, closed the tourney with a 75 dime winner on UConn (-13') over Northwestern and they got it done, not without some drama withstanding.
They blew a 30-point 2nd half lead and led 66-42 with 8:09 to go.
Then I watched in horror as the tournament's overall #1 seed went 6 straight possessions without a score and the Wildcats went on an 8-0 run.
All of a sudden with 5:26 to go it was a 16-point game.
Northwestern had 3 straight possessions in which to get it to 14 but a missed layup and 2 turnovers kept it at 16.
UConn is up 72-56 with 57 seconds to go when Jayden Ross misses 2 free throws and we had to sweat a Ryan Langborg miss with 48 seconds to go.
He hits that, cuts it to 13, who the hell knows what happens in those last 48 seconds but glad we don't have to find out.
What should have been a relaxing last 10 minutes almost became a complete abomination but the Huskies held on for the cover for the 17-point win.
Their run the last 2 years to 8 straight tournament wins by 13 points or more which has led to 8 straight covers.
Can you say cash cow/!!!!!!!
A lot of tournament hoops left. I mean, a lot and I will continue to rally.
Let's get this 2nd straight winning day with this 50 dimer.
Nothing more. Nothing less.
Time to get it done.
