My Analysis
Revenge is a dish best served up cold.
Loyola/Chicago was rolling along on fire when they rolled into St.Bonny on February 27th,
Since their road loss at South Florida 77-64 on December 16th, Sister Jean and the boys had gone 14-2 SU and 12-4 ATS.
Their 2 losses: as a 2 1/2 point home favorite they lost to Richmond 58-56, as a 4 1/2 point dog at VCU lost 74-67.
Then they went out and played perhaps their worst game of the year losing 79-64.
They shot 38% from the floor (32% from 3) and turned it over 18 times and missed 9 free throws.
How did they respond off that loss: They won their last 3 including the 77-72 home win over Dayton as a 1-point home dog.
Went into Davidson and won 69-59 as a 1-point dog again and finished the season with a 64-54 win over LaSalle, failing to cover as a 12-point chalk.
Over their last 20 games to close the year they went 17-3 SU and 14-6 ATS.
As for the Bonnies, off the win over these Ramblers they went the other way badly losing their last 2 games of the year versus the 2 worst teams in the conference.
Laying 9 at 15-16 George Washington, they lost outright 86-55. They closed the year laying 11 at home to 12-19 St.Louis and lost that game outright 73-65.
Then they opened the conference tourney last night laying 8 1/2 to LaSalle and should have lost that game outright.
The Explorers Jhamir Bricks had a wide open 3 to win it with 3 seconds to go but just missed and the Bonnies survived 75-73.
Folks, the Ramblers are the better team and have played the more winning consistent basketball all year long and have proven to be dependable.
They are not losing to this team again tonight. Simple as that.
Lay it with confidence.
