Off the winning month of December we are now rolling along in January and in position for yet another winning month.

Yes, down 395 dimes in January, and on a 5 game losing streak where a $10 client has lost $5,975, Lang is clearly "ROLLING ALONG!"

The analysis is interesting, and if and when I see this universally accepted in the NFL by just about all coaches, I will accept it.

The immediate questions that come to mind are these:

1) in what percentage of the stats cited, have the games been playoff games??

I cited this because as a person who had a strong minor in college statistics, one needs to consider the sample size to unequivocally

state that the sample size is large enough to make the findings valid and reliable!!

2) Also one would have to know if there have been any kind of rule changes between 2015 and now that could in any way have an

impact on whether one goes for one or two;this definitely applies to overtime rules in NFL Playoff games which I am prety

sure have changed.

3) Also, one would have to do a cross-sample of all of the games under what conditions in the game itself two-point conversions

were tried, ie when in the game they were tried, the score at the time, the importance of winning each time relative

to their won and lost record(regular season game or playoff game), etc and a ton of other factors that need to be

considered before simply relying on stats only to arrive at a valid conclusion if that is the right terminology.

Imo a one-game elimination such as was the case today should result in a different type of thinking than in some

of the situations described above.

Also in what percentage of times of a similar situation did the home team go for two points as opposed

to visiting teams??

Most importantly the situation described above comes down to the coach's call which I guarantee is not the same

for all coaches!!

Hey if they want to try it and it works for their own particular team, then great!!

That said, if I were a coach I wouldn't do it simply because there were some instances where it worked but would rather rely on my instincts

which would not only be based on the criterion of what I said but also my gut perception in the game in question

and how likely it was to work based on what I had seen of the other team's overall defensive abilities so far in that particular game.

For that matter, my overall philosophy in life is not, never has been and never will be "keeping up with the Joneses!!"

Hit a little cold spell here as my 50 dimer on Stony Brook goes down.
Listen, I take my losses like a man but, when the commentators call out a coach, well you know he did something stupid.
Let's set the table: Hofstra ball, Stony Brook down 2 with 40 seconds to go.
The commentators mentioned before the inbounds pass, "There is no reason to foul here. There is a 10 second differential. Play defense, get a stop, win or tie."
Then Stony Brook proceeds to immediately foul on the inbound pass and both announcers go crazy.
One says, "Why would you foul there?" The other says, "I know Geno Ford is a good coach but I don't agree with that decision at all."
And with that decision, so goes the cover.
When you are a heater, you catch every break in the world. When you go cold, every decision is costly and fouling with 40 seconds in the game down 2 was moronic.

My Analysis

Going to ride the team with all the momentum in the world.

And that team is Bowling Green.

The 14-4 Falcons, winners of 4 in a row and 12 of their last 13, look to push their home record to 10-1 this year.

They currently trail Akron by a game in the MAC standings, host struggling Kent State.

The Golden Flashes roll in here losers of 4 of their last 5 and you want to talk about bad losses.

Blown out at home by Toledo 89-75, blown out at 9-9 CMU 77-62 and lost in OT at 8-9 Eastern Michigan.

The bottom line is they are just not playing winning basketball right now and you certainly don't want to be running into this Bowling Green team that is.

They are struggling offensively as they only have 3 guys who are getting to double digits led by Sullinger and Payton Jr at 14 a game.

On the other side, the Falcons are getting 20 a game from Marcus Hill, 12 a piece from Trey Thomas and and Rashaun Agee.

You throw in the 10 points and 7 rebounds a game from big man Jason Sprugin and you can see the balance of this Falcons team.

Bottom line: I just don't see them losing this game at home based on how good they are playing right now.

I can't believe the home team here isn't laying 4 to 5 instead of this near pick em number.

Let's lay it with confidence as Bowling Green makes it 10 straight home wins with a rock solid win tonight.
