Trust me when I tell you they should have won the game outright as they led 28-27 with 2:16 to go when the Illini converted a 4th and 4 which led to the game winning field goal.
Anyone who knows me knows, I love some underdogs and I love them even more when they deliver the outright win.
Oh well, we will take the easy cover nevertheless.

Can't pass up this home dog on national tv tonight.



When Mike Elko took over Duke last year, not much was expected of this 1st year head coach.



Then he went out and guided the Blue Devils to a 9-4 record and the 4 losses were all by single digits.



At Kansas by 8, at Gtech by 3, at North Carolina by 3 and at Pitt by 3.



They won 4 of their last 5 to close the year capped off by hammering UCF in the Military bowl 31-13.



With 18 starters back from that squad (10 offense/8 defense), it's essentially the same team.



The offense begins and ends with QB Riley Leonard, who started every game last year and became only the 2nd QB in Duke history to reach double digits in rush TD's and pass TD's.



This Duke team will compete tonight. You had better believe that.



As for Dabo Swinney and Clemson, he returns 15 starters from last year's 11-3 (7 offense, 8 defense).



Of their 3 losses, 2 were of the blowout variety at Notre Dame 35-14 and 31-14 to Tennessee in the Orange Bowl.



I will force Clemson to show me they are back. To show me they are back in the "Elite" circle.



They may win this game tonight, but I don't see it being a blowout, especially as good as Duke played at home last year.



In front of the home folks, Duke went 5-1 SU but a perfect 6-0 ATS. The only blemish was the aforementioned 3-point loss to UNC but easily covering getting +7.
