Thanks for that very profound and all-encompassing response!!While I don't pretend to be a doctor some of the things Lang says & does over the years leads me to believe he is a:
A. Pathological Liar which is a mental disorder.
B. Has Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
C. He might have a Multiple Personality Disorder.
He obviously wanted to be a college or pro athlete and it never happened so he lies about how close he got. Anyone in the know will tell you it wasn't close. Deep down if he was asked by a close friend if he is a good handicapper I'd bet he would think he is average or probably a little above average. One time a sports talk show host asked him how many times he's had winning seasons out of the last 10 years. He answered 7. If he was asked under oath I'd guess he'd say 5-7 because there is no proof to discount his claim.
I believe he thinks he is above average intelligence when if you study his writing skills and reasoning it's way, way below average. He probably thinks he has more bad breaks than the average gambler because he mentions ad nauseam that he had the right side of the game and usually 1 player caused him to lose.
One of the few positives about Lang is he realized he couldn't win gambling and doesn't gamble more than say 1-2 bets for around $20 a pop. It appears he's saved basically nothing but has never caused to put his wife and child on the street. He probably lives paycheck to paycheck with some debt.
From my following him all of these years(nowhere near as much as folks like Pimp with his extensive documentation of his record
keeping and others), I do agree with everything you say.
In addition to what you say about his writing skills, while I do agree that to folks like yourself, Pimp and me, it is obvious
that what he says is full of lies, both by commission and omission when it comes to daily blog with his "record-keeping,
I do think that some of his bs and one wat reporting may appeal to those who are younger and/or new to gambling, sports
services and/or just plain naive and maybe even desperate.
Obviously, the people I cited are not familiar with this site.
Most importantly though imo and in that of most people, when all said and done, virtually no one actually buys his picks other
than for fading purposes, although I am quite sure that some of the folks I cited do play his picks if they are posted.
The obvious other question/point is that the site keeps him around because in their minds somehow he does bring poositive attention
to the other cappers at the site and at least up until now whether it is imagined or not, he does somehow increase the overall
business and/or that if he does not, it will magically change so that he does!!
