What a fu@#%$k job.
My 150 dime release on Saturday comes up short as Nebraska (+7 1/2) loses at USC by 8.
I could write a war and peace novel about the mistakes head coach Matt Ruhle made in game especially with having 2 timeouts on the final drive and not using 1 of them.
No use whining about the no call on the pass interference on the last play of the game as well.
It's still going to end up a 1/2 point short in the pocket book.
Down 21-17 and just having recovered a fumble at the USC 15 yard line with 4 minutes to go in the 3rd, I said to myself a touchdown here and the cover will be in hand.
Then on 3rd down freshman QB Dylan Raiola has a wide open touchdown pass but is afraid to throw it and instead takes the check down and comes up short.
The field goal makes it 21-20 and you just knew 28-20 was inevitable.
As hot as I have been in College football all year long, that one yesterday was tough pill to swallow.
After Tuesday's 75 dime winner on Bowling Green, Wednesday's 75 dime winner on Kent St/Miami Under and Friday's 75 dime winner on UTSA, felt great about Saturday.
However, sometimes you are just not meant to win a game and yesterday was one of those. End of story.
If you would have told me at the beginning of the year that on November 17th I would be 22-9 in College football and a $10 bettor is up over 4 grand would I take it????

Now all I can do is exactly what I did last Sunday after dropping my Saturday best bet......deliver an NFL best bet.

I got bored at work and played with Lang's 2024 results (mega shout out to pimpy for running such great record keeping - DM your venmo and let me gift you something)

Lang is a documented loser and has no talent for capping games. What makes Lang such an epic loser is he gives out only 1 pick a day and manages to lose an incredible amount. this is true. This is a HISTORIC year for faders.

He is on quite the run right now but let me ground you.

SINCE AUGUST Lang is 58-43 ATS for a 57.4% -- world class numbers seemingly. But this is just an adjustment to the mean over the last 100 or so picks. His previous 104 picks he was 44-60 an unbelievable 42.3% win percentage --- you combine these thats 102-103, a normal losing bettor.

Pimpy has 49% accuracy for the year, which is typical of a losing bettor. You have to hit 52.4% to reach profit for flat bettors. So why have we as faders won insane amount this year? His big plays have been losing at a higher rate than his small plays.

From my quick math
200 dime plays Lang is 6-10, 37.5% win percentage -1000 dimes*

150 dime plays are much more near his season average 20-21, 48.5%, down -465 dimes *

100 dime plays are slightly less at 25-28 for 47.2% -580 dimes*

These 100+ big rating plays are about 1/3rd of his total volume but make up 2/3rd of his season losses. This is why we're having an epic season. Lang isn't worse than normal, just his big plays are.

(*not accounting for his buy half of point bs that would increase juice, this is assuming everything is -110 which will be slightly off)

If Lang was 10-6 on 200 dime plays, a very reasonable record for such low volume even for a loser like lang, he would be -1300 dimes on the year (more in line with his yearly losses, than the -3000 dimes this year)

IN CONCLUSION
Im glad you found this thread. Lang is always going to lose in the long run, but don't expect this year to be the norm. Also, his recent good run the last 3 months is NOT indicative of any turnaround, its just a normal swing of a year.

Now that is the way you rebound.
After Saturday's absolute fu@#$k job on Nebraska, it was absolutely imperative I got back in the winners circle on Sunday.
And I attacked the biggest game on the board and arguably the biggest game of the year and told you Buffalo would end the perfect season of the Chiefs.
Well, my 2nd straight NFL 150 dime winner was exactly that as the Bills (-2) delivered the money with the 30-21 win.
The back to back winning Sunday's was just what the doctored ordered.
Now we look to close the week with this 60 dime Monday night winner and then roll up our sleeves for another rock solid week in football.
