I'm surprised anyone bought that falsely translated Ahmadinejad interview. People that know the language say he never mentioned the holocaust...

It has been reported on numerous occasions that Ahmadinejad has denied the holocaust.

I don’t speak nor read Arabic so I must rely on those who do and you’re not one of them.

Most Iranians don't speak or read Arabic either. It's not their native language

Perhaps you're confusing them with Arabs.

Do you all believe that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, or is it just the latest nonsensical lies our media reports that you are, unable to deny?

Oswald was a fall guy. Giancana ordered the hit. As to who actually shot JFK, your guess is as good as mine but it wasn’t Oswald.

And nice try to deflect the conversation away from Ahmadinejad.

5 Muslim soldiers investigated for terrorism at Fort Jackson

Rick Moran

If true - and so far, the army is denying there is much of a story - that 5 Muslim soldiers at Fort Jackson in South Carolina are under investigation for trying to poison the base food supply is extraordinarily bad news.

This is especially true because according to one source, there is a connection to the 5 American Muslims who journeyed to Pakistan allegedly to train to be terrorists.

CBN News blog:

CBN News has learned exclusively that five Muslim soldiers at Fort Jackson in South Carolina were arrested just before Christmas. It is unclear whether the men are still in custody. The five were part of the Arabic Translation program at the base. Patrick Jones, the Deputy Public Affairs Officer for Fort Jackson, confirmed for CBN News yesterday afternoon that an investigation was ongoing .
Prior to this posting, CBN News learned that these details were also confirmed by a government official with knowledge of the investigation.
The men are suspected of trying to poison the food supply at Fort Jackson.
A source with intimate knowledge of the investigation, which is ongoing, told CBN News investigators suspect the "Fort Jackson Five" may have been in contact with the group of five Washington, DC area Muslims that traveled to Pakistan to wage jihad against U.S. troops in December. That group was arrested by Pakistani authorities, also just before Christmas.

Why the secrecy?

Jen Rubin:
I spoke with a source knowledgeable about the Army's anti-terrorism training and the progress of the Fort Jackson investigation. He makes several key points. First, while Army spokesman Chris Gray pronounced that "there is no credible information to support the allegations" in the poisoning case, this is bellied by the fact that five individuals were arrested. So my source asks, "If that's true, then this was a miscarriage of justice!" Second, had the Fort Jackson incident come to light before release of the Fort Hood review, it would have been very difficult to give such short shrift to the jihadist motivation of Major Nadal Hasan. Nor would it be possible for the arrest of five Muslim individuals accused of poisoning fellow soldiers to have gone unnoticed at the "highest levels" of the Department of Defense. The only rational conclusion is that the Army worked furiously to keep the Ford Jackson incident under the media radar and to proceed with the Fort Hood whitewash. He says bluntly, "I think the DOD culpability and involvement at the highest levels is much more direct. I'm told they were directly keeping a lid on this to prevent derailing what they were doing with the Fort Hood report." The source predicts that the Army will continue its "nothing to see here, move along" reaction to the Fort Jackson incident.
Intelligent speculation - but that's all it is.

I would think we have a right to know if there is an active terrorist cell in the United States army. But then, that would contradict everything the Obama administration has tried to do with regard to domestic terror cells. And the military obviously, as shown by the Fort Hood report, simply does not want to deal with the problem.
I fear the only way this will change is if an attack is carried out by Muslim soldiers on civilians. And then, of course, it will be too late.

Note: The original headline to this piece and a reference in the body of the post mentioned that the soldiers were "arrested." This is not the case. They were never detained, only under investigation.

[ I wonder if friendly Islam's justification of beating women could have anything to do with this? This friendly Muslim almost beats this woman to death, and then blames her. All because she wouldn't dance with him. ]

The construction worker who was arrested for the vicious beating of a woman in a Midtown bar's bathroom told the police he was acting in self-defense. According to court papers, Mbarek Lafrem said, "She was trying to push me so I punched her in the face twice and pushed her back in the stall." Police say that Lafrem, 30, of Norwood, Pa., had tried to dance a 29-year-old woman at the bar Social on West 48th Street. She had refused, and he apparently followed her into the bathroom. In court papers, Lafrem explained to the police, "I was at the bar with the girl. I went into the bathroom and she started yelling at me. She was coming towards me so I grabbed her by the arms. She was trying to push me so I punched her in the face twice and pushed her back in the stall. She fell into the stall and hit her head."
The woman's friend later found her unconscious in the stall; the victim needed 50 stitches for a laceration and also suffered a fractured skull, a broken nose and a broken eye socket. The Post reports she was also found with "one pant leg completely off and the other around her ankle, the court papers said." Lafrem was charged with attempted murder, assault and attempted rape. He's also being held without bail.
Police were led to Lafrem by a tip. The NY Times notes that the NYPD, which had released relatively clear surveillance video of the beating suspect, was surprised that they only received two tips: "The reason became clear, however, later Friday morning when a worker from a Midtown construction site called the police tip line and identified the man in the video... It turned out that the suspect was a laborer from Pennsylvania working on a construction job at 16 West 34th Street, near Herald Square, and staying at the Best Western Hotel a block from Social." NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said, "He was not residing permanently in the city. With a typical suspect, residing in one of the five boroughs, we would have expected more calls."

UC Irvine Suspends Friendly Muslim Student Group

Muslim student group suspended for disrupting IsraeliJacob Adelman - Associated Press - 6/15/2010 8:40:00 AM <script type="text/javascript">var addthis_pub = 'onenewsnow';</script><script type="text/javascript" src="http://s9.addthis.com/js/widget.php?v=10"></script>

LOS ANGELES - A University of California, Irvine, disciplinary committee ruled that a Muslim student group should be suspended for at least a year because of a protest that disrupted a talk by Israel's ambassador and led to the arrest of 11 students, according to documents released Monday.

<storybody></storybody>
The letter from a student affairs disciplinary committee to Muslim Student Union leaders said the group was guilty of disorderly conduct, obstructing university activities, furnishing false information and other violations of campus policy. University spokeswoman Cathy Lawhon said the committee's decision will be a binding recommendation to the campus' office of student affairs if a planned appeal by the group does not succeed.

MSU attorney Reem Salahi said the committee relied on evidence relied that was "inadequate and problematic" but declined to outline the group's challenge in detail. She said the decision, if sustained, would leave Muslim students without an organization representing their interests. "It really does have very lasting constitutional implications," she said. "It's a chilling effect for Muslims on campus and their right to associate."

Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren was repeatedly interrupted and called "murderer" and "war criminal" by pro-Palestinian students as he was giving a talk on the Middle East peace process in February. Eleven students were cited on charges of disrupting a public event after they were requested to refrain from heckling but did not. Orange County district attorney spokeswoman Susan Schroeder said criminal charges have yet to be filed and it was unknown if or when they would be. (Read earlier story: 'Heckling of Israeli ambassador shameful')

The MSU condemned the ambassador's appearance but insisted it did not organize the protests. The disciplinary committee, however, said a review of online message group conversations and minutes from an MSU meeting revealed that the group did engineer the protests and instructed participants to lie about its involvement.

The group's preparations allegedly included scripting statements for protesters to make during the event and instructing participants to cheer at disruptions. "Be VERY LOUD, firm and strong...but remain composed and under control. Do not let your emotions get the best of you. Remember that this is a planned/calculated response and not a venting session," the committee quoted organizers as telling participants in meeting minutes.

The committee also ruled that the group should be put on disciplinary probation for a year following its suspension, which ends in August 2011, and that members collectively complete 50 hours of community service.

The letter, dated May 27, was released following a Freedom of Information Act request by the Jewish Federation Orange County.

These scum at Irvine would nuke America if they could. They are not moderate Muslims by any stretch. They are radicals to the core.

I dont like religion. Its done alot of good and it still does, but this one in particular (Islam) is on the extremes violent and brutal. With that said, i would say its na overwhelming majority of Muslims are peaceful. Kinda like Gays, only 4% of us happen to be gay in the US, yet its a big story, meanwhile 96% of us like to go old school hetro. And abortions etc etc. How come the smallest groups get the most attention? I think worrying about the goings on of Muslims day to day is on par with the 9-11 truth movement. Sure, there are some instances and examples, but at the end of the day, their is bigger fish to fry. Like how about obesity? That is much more of a threat then islamofacism... but that would require, responsibility on the individual, kinda like having the school paddle your kids. We wouldnt want that. Its too much of an inconvenience to change our ways. Meanwhile over 60% of the country is over weight and worried about Islam and the 100 or so deaths yearly from its extremes. I know this country doesnt read or think for itself anymore, but come on guys, lets just do some basic arithmetic. I know, more work. Never mind, keep on shoveling mcdonalds and beer down your gullets and worrying about the vast minority of the world.

Fletch, the only time I see obesity being a problem would be when you went on a date and forget the flour.

Seriously, obesity is a problem but it pales in comparison to Islam. I have a video (wmv) that shows how the Muslims will take over the world without the use of force. It has to do with population growth.

If someone will give me instructions, I’ll try and post it.

I have seen that video and if the birth rates hold true you are right they will out number us. However, that isnt likely to happen just yet and the obesity problem will hit home much much faster. Radical Islam and even Islam in some cases is a problem because if you take away oil, those country's are shit. Ill grant you that. And ill grant you that are freedom of religion right could become a major problem as more and more come, but we have to get serious first and foremost about the #1 problem is this country and we seem to do a good job of taking our eye off that ball. Because without a sound financial system and a debt we can handle at all levels private and public we are going to become a slave nation anyway.

(CNN) -- An Iranian woman who'd already been condemned to death faces another sentence of 99 lashes because of a case of mistaken identity in a photograph, according to foes of the execution.
Iranian authorities imposed the sentence after they saw the photo of a woman without a head scarf in a newspaper, the International Committee Against Stoning, a human rights group, said Friday.
In an apology, The Times of London, which ran the photo on its front page on August 28, said the woman was wrongly identified as Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, who had previously been sentenced to death by stoning for adultery.
The Times said the photo actually is of Susan Hejrat, a political activist living in Sweden.
Iranian law requies all women, regardless of their faith, to wear garments that cover their hair and bodies.
According to the Times, one of Ashtiani's former lawyers, Mohammed Mostafaei, gave the paper the photo.
Mostafaei told CNN Saturday that he still thinks the photo may be of his former client.
The Times said Mostafei told it that Ashtiani's son, Sajjad, 22, had e-mailed him two photographs three months ago and told him both were of his mother.
"One was the widely used picture of Ms. Ashtiani with her face obscured by a chador [cloak], and the other was the one used by The Times... That showed the full face of a woman," The Times said in a statement Friday.
Sajjad Ghaderzadeh wrote in an open letter that another lawyer sent the paper an authentic photo of his mother, but that it did not appear in the Times article. The letter was circulated by the International Committee Against Stoning on Friday.
"We do not know how that picture was originally obtained, nor to whom the picture belongs," Ghaderzadeh said in the letter.
"My mother has been called in to see the judge in charge of prison misdemeanors and he has sentenced our helpless mother to 99 lashes on false charges of spreading corruption and indecency by disseminating this picture of a woman presumed to be her [Sakineh] without hijab," he wrote.
A phone call to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran early Sunday morning was not answered.
The Committee Against Stoning said Friday that "it is Mr. Mostafaei's responsibility to provide an explanation as to why he has disseminated [a] counterfeit photo and information regarding Sakineh's case; his action has only led to increased pressure on Sakineh and her family."
"We strongly condemn this barbaric new sentence of 99 lashes imposed by the Islamic Republic against Sakineh and we demand that this sentence be abandoned immediately," said the committee.
Mostafei told CNN that Ghaderzadeh three months ago gave him two photos -- one of Ashtiani wearing a hijab (covering) and one without it, Mostafei said.
The lawyer said he immediately released the photo of Ashtiani wearing the chador and sent the Times the photo of her without the hijab more recently.
Asked about whether the photo printed by the Times is of Ashtiani, Mostafei said, "In my opinion it is Ms. Ashtiani. It was given to me by her own son. If it is not indeed her, it looked just like her. She was wearing religious clothes in the photo, she had the same face, same everything."
Ashtiani was sentenced to death by stoning after she was convicted of adultery. Iranian judicial authorities say a final verdict in her case has not yet been made, ISNA news agency reported recently. In July, Iran's judiciary said the case was under review.
Ashtiani, who is being held in Tabriz, Iran, no longer has visitation rights, the family told CNN.
The Committee Against Stoning has said that Iran announced she will not be executed during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which ends around September 9. Iran's judiciary could reinstate her sentence of death by stoning, execute her by other means, or possibly grant her a reprieve, according to human rights groups.
Iran's Judiciary High Council of Human Rights indicated that evidence shows the allegations against Ashtiani "have been proved right" and that Iran's judiciary operates independently as other justice systems do, the semi-official Iranian Student's News Agency reported.
