How the Pats won at Philly:

"Patriots at Eagles final score: Defensive dominance, another trick play decides Super Bowl LII rematch"

"...The Eagles didn't do much on offense after taking a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter."

"Philadelphia still had an opportunity to win the game, driving to New England's 26-yard line before a fourth-and-10 heave by Wentz went in and out of the hands of Nelson Agholor in the end zone. The catch was a tough one to make, but Agholor had a step on the defender, and the score would have pulled the Eagles within one with 1:05 left and the extra point pending."

"Tom Brady wasn't at his best, but the Patriots have found ways to win without their quarterback playing at a Hall of Fame level. New England did struggle in the red zone and averaged just 4.2 yards per play, but Edelman's pass ended up being the difference in a game that needed a trick play..."

"...The Patriots had the No. 1 defense in the NFL and fully took advantage of a depleted Eagles offense..."

"...The Eagles were behind the 8 ball with Jeffery and Howard out, then Johnson and left tackle Jason Peters left the game, then running back Miles Sanders missing nearly half of the fourth quarter with an injury, but this one was lost when head coach Doug Pederson abandoned the game plan. The Eagles averaged 4.8 yards per carry in the first half and scored 10 points early, but Pederson decided to get pass happy...

"...The Eagles offense was moving the ball well on two of their first three possessions, but injuries did play a role in their offensive inefficiency. One player the Eagles couldn't afford to lose was right tackle Lane Johnson, who left the game with a head injury in the second quarter. Halapoulivaati Vaitai (who was the starting left tackle for the Eagles during their Super Bowl run) entered the game and did not perform well in relief, as Wentz did not have enough time to get rid of the ball with immense pressure from the right side. Wentz wasn't good in this game, but losing both his tackles in addition to all the other injuries the offense endured was a recipe for disaster."

"The Patriots won a game on a trick play that ended up being the winning score. New England went 1 of 3 in the red zone, but the lone touchdown was one of Bill Belichick's best play calls of the year."

"...Ertz is a challenge for Gilmore, but he wouldn't be on him as much if the Eagles have better (and healthier) wide receivers."

They've given up like 20 yards of offense besides 1 drive.
I should say the NE offense was mediocre. Their running game has regressed and they don’t have any game breakers at receiver. They are in the right division to guarantee playoff home games this season.

You cant argue with 9-1, and the success of recent years, it's no biggie if they lose a game or two now, just Cruise into the playoffs uninjured.

Brady is getting to be very senior in NFL terms, but still elite, they are the team to beat !

His receivers are pretty ordinary though. Sanu doesn’t scare a defense like Gordon did. Yes they are 9-1 but that is an awful division.

what matters is that they are overrated by the bookmakers. they have major issues on offense at left guard, tight end, fullback, running back, qb mobility and major issue with the place kicking. defense has carried them but should digress with 4 tough games coming up consecutively. they will do handstands if they can go 2-2 during this stretch. that will put them at 10-3 with 3 cupcakes (bengals, jets, bills) to close out the season. then they will have to knock off the chiefs and ravens in the playoffs. not likely.

yes, i know the scoop. they are masking their deficiency's with wins against bad or beat up teams plagued with injuries. cincinnati is the only sure thing left on their schedule. that gives them 10 wins for sure. they need 13 to lock up home field and the wins are not going to be there.

But you said this last year and you were wrong.....So this time you will be right?

Patriots missing their Starting Tackle, Center, FB, and Kicker.

Your scoop is dribbling down your chin......find a napkin.

Injuries are part of the game, and those people that tend to use injuries as an excuse always overlook the other team's injuries

As you and me know, Belichick never makes excuses.

Excuse makers trying desperately to spin anything and everything look at injuries that hurt their teams, but ignore injuries that help their cause

As always, I appreciate the hate, I really do. How else can a team cover year after year after year

Brady at 42 is the 2nd oldest player in the league, behind 46 year old Vinariteri, who is just a kicker, he certainly has accomplished much in his long career.

I'm not a Pats fan, but with the decade almost complete this year, they are for sure the most iconic and #1 team of the decade and accomplishment wise it's not really that close. Seems every year someone posts about them being mediocre yet they are always right there in the thick of contending.

AFAIK they will be without their starting FG kicker for the rest of the season. So how mediocre are they now at that position? Or how worse than last year?

Also if Gronkowski does not return, how mediocre are they at his position & inferior relative to last year?

How has NE done vs winning or good teams this year? We know they were horribly exposed & blown out by the Ravens, which makes 0-1.

You know there is a big gap between "Being as good as you were when you won the superbowl last year" and "mediocre", right?

This is the problem with this site now, all these kids come on and try to pretend they're producing an ESPN segment because 20-30 years of programming taught them that's how people talk about sports.

Yeah bro, that last post just convinced me that you're right. They're around between the 15-18th best team in the NFL. That's why they're giving almost a TD against Dallas next week.

Their window of greatness appears to be closing, but it ain't shut just yet.

I haven't looked but would assume they are the betting favorite to win the Superbowl

They're even money to make the superbowl right now. If you think they aren't a top 10 team in the league then just print like you've never printed before. Pretty simple.

PItt with Ben
Buffalo
Philadelphia

That would be 3-1 at least

7-3 ATS, speaks for itself, or at least it should

PS: Seeding and Championships are won and lost by beating teams you're supposed to beat

And Vegas knows more about this stuff than anybody, they don't tend to give money away

They are very mediocre in the kicking game as well as the TE position. They're offensive line is BAD!

But, horribly exposed and blown out was really not the case in Baltimore. They certainly took some lumps in that game but come one, you get down 17 and with the Patriots mediocre passing attack right now that game should have been a much bigger blow out. They were in it until Edelman coughed one up for a score, you do that and you will lose just about every time.

You can dismiss the other NFL teams they have beaten, there really isn't a plethora of good teams in the league right now anyway.
So they may have lost to one of the best if not the best. I mean they're 9-1 for a reason, they're good, but you and others act like its a fluke lol.
