Dom Chambers Wednesday Action

My 50 Dime play is on the New York Mets to beat the Cincinnati Reds. Checking the sports books the Mets are a -120 favorite. Make sure you list the pitchers. If they fail to make the start, the bet is void.

ANALYSIS

These are teams going in opposite directions, but it’s the one going down that is the right side here.

The Reds have won four in a row, but that was after losing five in a row. The Mets have lost three of their last four and six of their last eight games.

But this is the one start in the rotation, the Mets feel good about their chances.

The Mets start R.A. Dickey, and the knuckleballer has put together a Cy Young contender season. He is 15-3 with a 2.72 ERA and a WHIP of 1.00. For a knuckleiball pitcher, he does not walk batters. In his last three starts, he is even better, going 2-1 with a 1.17 ERA and a WHIP of 0.83.

If he has command of his pitch, the Reds will be hard pressed to score.

As for the Reds, Mike Leake starts. Overall, he is 4-7 with a 4.51 ERA. But he has struggled lately, as he is 0-1 with a 7.90 ERA in his last three starts.

In Dickey’s last three starts, the only game the Mets did not win was when they lost 3-1. Run support should not be the problem here. With Leake on the mound, the Mets should give Dickey all the run support he needs for the win.

Dom Chambers Thursday Action

My 30 Dime play is on the St. Louis Cardinals on the run line to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks. Checking the sports books the Cardinals are +140 on the run line.

ANALYSIS

Kyle Lohse gets the start for the Cardinals. He has been outstanding lately, going 2-0 with a 2.84 ERA in his last three starts.

The Cardinals have been playing well lately, winning three of their last four games.

The D-Backs have hit a little bump. They have lost four of their last five games.

Trevor Cahill starts for Arizona. He is 1-1 with a 3.79 ERA in his last three starts.

Tehcnically that is the spirit of these threads, do the EXACT opposite. lol, I cannot bring myself to laying -170 on almost anything??? I played the AZ ML and caught some lightening in the last second,, lol

Yes, you play the opposite so the AZ RL +1.5 was the correct fade play. If you played the AZ ML then you weren't fading Chambers play.

The juice was high at -170 but when you are fading using a Labby you can't be afraid of juice. You just have to realize that if you lose you will get it all back plus down the line.

Scared money don't make money.

Dom Chambers Friday Action

My 40 Dime winner is on the Los Angeles Dodgers to beat the Atlanta Braves. Checking the sports books the Dodgers are +110 underdog.

ANALYSIS

The Dodgers have regained the lead in the N.L. West, while the Braves are chasing the Washington Nationals in the East.

In this series opener, the Dodgers send leftie Chris Capuano to the mound. He is coming off one of his best starts, as he took a no-hitter into the eighth inning in a 5-0 win over the Miami Marlins. He allowed two hits and struck out 10.

Capuano has had some success against Atlanta, winning his last three starts against the braves. In his last outing against Atlanta, he allowed six hits in seven innings and gave up a solo home run in a 7-2 win on April 23.

It’s going to be a bit more of a guess for the Braves as they activate Tommy Hanson off the disabled list to make the start. He has been out with a lower back strain.

The Dodgers’ offense has been clicking as they have scored at least five runs in each of their last five games. And have gone 4-1 in that stretch. They may be without Matt Kemp, who faces a possible suspension. Even without Kemp, the Dodgers have enough offense.

The Dodgers have the offense and the pitching to pull off the road win.
