Texas High School Football Southlake Carroll/ Miami

I believe the highlights for each team posted below provides the most telling information on both teams. A picture is worth a thousand words and a video is worth a thousand pictures. Statistics can be deceiving. Both teams play in their state's top class and both have mind boggling 2006 statistics. Past statistics are a non-factor and they have never determined the outcome of a game. Looking at opponents that the teams played last year is also deceiving because everyone has bias and objective reasoning. Many (not all) Texas fans believe in their hearts that Euless Trinity was much bigger and better than any opponent MNW faced last year while many (not all) Florida fans believe MNW played tougher opponents than Euless Trinity on a regular basis which makes Carroll's one point win over Trinity much less significant to them. Nothing anyone says will change people's opinion about these things. Players on both teams that are not blue chip prospects will have more of an impact on the outcome of this game than most people think. I will post the links one more time:

I know Highland Park well, played HS football at Wylie, always loved the "Small Town" vs "Rich Town" aspect LOL. Though you whipped are asses every year, graduated in 1999 from there. I live here on 287 and 820 in Saginaw, so literally 10 minutes down the street from downtown Fort Worth. Been here for about 2 years now. Love Joe T's, though first time i went no one decided to tell me they only take cash and well that night the ATM was out of money too haha. I am not sure If i am going to the game or not, really would love too.

I really like how you are putting this game into perspective, though we really will see after this game, IMO, if it was more Todd Dodge being the excellent coach he was here, now at North Texas of course, or if these players can continue this run after his departure

So now you name calling?? What a class act. You need to get your facts straight this was in 2001. They lost to Apopka in Tallahassee that was Taurean Charles sr. Year you do the math. All you do is run off at the mouth about SLC this and that but do not know facts. I think you need to do some research. Not the year the documetary came out but the season it pertained too. It is obvious u are a huge SLC fan, and basically dont care what anyone else says (although u WILL deny this). I mean, if i said bret favre, jerry rice, and walter payton were playing for MNW, u would still go on and on about how un-discipline they were, and they were overrated....so, i call bullshit. Trust me, i recognize the fact that SLC is very good, and i respect that, but you refuse to respect what MNW has done in the past (and dont go on about getting facts. And another thing...BOZO (sound familiar)...that film was of MNW vs APOPKA in 2001...I was there in tallahasse because the team i coach was also playing for the state championship in 3A. So, looks like u need to do some research. I know the coach from Apopka pretty well, and he and other coaches have said on many occasions this ..."MNW has athletes like u wont believe, and if they are a decent amount of discipline, they will wipe anyone off the field...EASILY"

U need to understand the lifestyle in "ghetto' MIAMI. What that film/documentary shows is real life. Many of these kids have no father and/or mother....live in very poor conditions, along with the school and facilities are very subpar...unlike money-raining TEXAS. That is just there way of life and most of you texas boys wouldnt understand this. Yes, they are a lot of ghetto/thug kids, but that is just what they know..nothing more.

Oh, by the way, why dont u ask miami hurricanes who they would rather have....a blue chipper from MNW or a blue chipper from SLC....i can GUARANTEE you they will take the kid from MIAMI. Just look at the recent drafts over the past 5 years.

Decent amount of discipline? How many penalties did they have in the first half against Lake Brantly? The Lake Brantly was not a good team. They executed ok, athletically though they weren't....that good. They probably wouldn't even make the playoffs in 5a Texas football (unless they played in El Paso or South Texas). It took undisciplined MNW a whole half just to pull away from Brantley. I mean MNW looked spetacular on offense but if that lake Brantly coach has half a team as athletic as MNW they probably beat them.....or make it a closer game.

Stop with the talk about draft this and draft that. Spring Westfield(near Houston) and Desoto(southern Dallas) Have put a few players in the NFL recently and guess how many state titles they have? Zero. Vince Young came from Madison and as good as he was he couldn't beat a team called Austin Westlake in the playoffs.

I ain't gon lie though Florida probably puts out more NFL type talent then Texas does but honest.....atleast in Texas that doesn't matter all too much. You can't win a state championship here just because you have the best athletes. It seems like you can do that in FLorida.

Either way it'll be a good game. My money is on SLC just because of the home field advantage......but who knows how it will go. It really depends on how good MNW's coach is.

After looking at these stats, These numbers are mind boggling!!! NO DOUBT!!! Im not going to put any more stats up on SLC. Yes it does appear obviously that MNW wins this game outright on paper except for the QB position.

I started this thread to see what kind of feed back I could get and I guess that I got what I desreved from people like Auggiedawg, Top notch, and a few others for the way that I have ranted and raved about SLC. I also just kind of wanted to let it be known to those who have no clue about highschool football....whats going on on September 15.

In all due fairness......I believe that this may end up being the best highschool football that I have seen.

Once again ,Good luck MNW believers........ I hadnt seen all of these verifiable stats until just a few days ago. all that I had seen was hearsay stats that were obviously not froom good sources and lots of video on MNW. I still believe that SLC will win this game and cover rather easily (-7.5).

Im working real hard on getting imfo on MNW. But the problem is that .....The only thing that you guys can say is that they are real fast ? we know they are fast and we know they are a glutton for points. Do you have some good imfo on the team history ? the coaching staff? the world class system that starts them off at in the 4th grade? Im just asking . how long have these kids played together as a team? have they picked up any more felonies this summer? you cmon!!! help me break this baby down. give some good solid hard facts about MNW. we are all tired of hearing that they are fast.

The grand jury found that the school district meddled in the school's police investigation and that Crew, along with school district attorneys, approved of allowing Easterling to play, despite knowledge of the arrest.
The failures go beyond football. Since Crew's arrival in 2004, the school has had six principals and about a dozen assistant principals. Standardized test scores have remained stagnant with only 9 percent of students reading at grade level, and fewer than half the students finished high school in four years.
Crew is expected to name yet another principal before classes resume in August. The school's bedrocks have been Athletic Director Gregory Killings, who resigned Friday after 23 years at Northwestern, and veteran football coach Roland Smith, who has been there 13 years.

Queen, Let Me Ask You, What Does That Have To Do With Who Wins The Football Game?????????? Please Tell Us Idiots Down Here In S Florida Something We Don't Know. We Know Where These Kids Come From, How Their Raised, What Kind Of Background They Come From. This Is No Shock To Us.
What This Thread Was About Was What Team Was Better And That Your Boys Were Going To Beat This Team 49-14. Which I'd Bet That Wouldn't Happen.
Queen, It Would Be Nice If Everyone Would Be Able To Live In Your Rich Little World And Never Worry About Where Their Next Meal Was Coming From Or Have 5 Cars Per Family But These Kids Don't. They Are Poorer Than Poor, Live In The Ghettos, Don't Have Parents, Don't Have Money To Eat 2 Meals Aday. Football Is Their Only Way Out.

I have kept it to the game.

I simply expressed my thoughts on the community leaders for jepordizing the opportunity for the guys to play in such a big game. I mean ...come on .....that was ignorant for them to let him play in that game....Now because of that decision to allow 1 player to play 1 game .........while over 15 school officials new that the incident took place and none of them chose to contact the law ...........this year the football program may end up toast . That is a dam shame. That has nothing to do with the kids. Sounds like they all need to be fired and someone needs to step up.

This is directly related to the game lapdance. I for 1 am very disappointed that the punishment could be on this years team while the criminal will end up scott free with no record. Now how is that for justice? Just gonna breed hatred for the law and make things even worse for the kids.

Hopefully someone will see this as I do and the program there at MNW will continue this year and the game will be played as scheduled. I definitely never bashed the kids.

what should have happened was this.....The team and coaches should have stepped up and beat his ass while it was fresh...... just like they do on the practice field.

First of all goob, quit calling me "COACH". Sorry that my lazy rear-end doesnt have a 9-5 desk job in the ac all day. I am actually in the trenches teaching our youth (chemistry as a matter of fact,....are u "teaching" anyone anything ..."MR. SLC GUY"???).

Secondly, your original post was bout the "game" ,but now it seems that you want to try and get the upper hand in mud-slinging by bringing up MNW's issues with getting in trouble, etc. Umm, this has nothing to do with the game, but yet, seems like u love to bring this up....and have done this on more than one occassion. Basically, you are gonna do whatever u can to make MNW look like the inferior football team (u have managed this one very well), and now u are gonna attack their personal lives and community (you're currently working on this one hard)

Secondly, what am i teaching our kids in florida. As a matter of fact, our high school was graded as a "D" school by the state of Florida's FCAT test (florida standarized test that all kids must pass to graduate). Within 2 years, we have become a "A" school. (Again, what have u done for YOUR great SLC community?) (Crap, im sorry, im sure you will sit behind that computer and make up some bullbutter.....i dont doubt it for one instance).

Lastly, i think u act like a friggin' 15 yr old the way u post and talk on here. Just my opinion....sorry. Thanks for playing.....NOT! (sound familiar?)
