THAT IS TOO FUNNY WHAT PAULb SAID!!!!!......

Schools are broken down with a letter classification to separate them from other schools of varying sizes. The purpose is to ensure that schools compete only with others with similar size talent pools and resources. The classifications are A, AA, AAA, AAAA, and AAAAA. They are popularly known as, respectively, 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A. The largest schools are classified as 5A, and the smallest are known as 1A. A school is permitted to request to be placed in a higher classification than its enrollment would otherwise dictate (but never in a smaller one, unless it believes there is an error in the figures used by UIL). This is done either for geographic reasons (there may not be another school nearby in the same classification) or for competition reasons (a school may be dominant in a particular sport, and thus wishes to compete with the larger schools in that sport). However, the school must then compete in the higher classification in all activities.

For purposes of the 5A football playoffs, four teams from each of the thirty-two 5A districts are eligible to be seeded for the playoffs. The two eligible teams with the highest student enrollment for its district are seeded in the Division I playoff bracket, and the remaining two teams (with the lower enrollment) are seeded in the Division II playoff bracket. This method is to prevent matchups between large schools and small schools although in practice this is not always the case.

For example, in the 2006 playoffs, the Division I champion, (Southlake Carroll) had a lower student enrollment than the Division II champion (Cedar Hill).

PLEASE DO NOT TRY AND BRING IN SOME BULLSHIT COMMENTS TO THIS THREAD.

GET OVER THE ENROLLMENT FACTORS......THATS NOT IT!!!!! ITS THE SYSTEM.....NOTHING LESS......NO SUPERSTARS......NO HEROS.......A UNIFIED TEAM FROM WATERBOY TO THE EXTRORDINARY FANBASE. I STARTED THIS THREAD TO GIVE THOSE OF YOU WHO DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT SLC . I NEVER INTENDED TO GET INTO BASHING OR DEBATES ON WHO HAD THE BETTER PROGRAM OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT IS IRRELLEVANT. THIS WAS SIMPLY AN OFFER TO LET YOU OUTSIDERS IN ON SOMETHING THAT IS TRULY A PHENOMANON ( DID I SPELL THAT RIGHT? LOL) YOU WILL ALL SEE WITH OUT A DOUBT HOW WELL LUBRICATED THIS PROGRAM IS. IT IS GOING TO BE A VERY ENTERTAINING AFTERNOON ON SEPTEMBER 15. IM SURE THAT ALL OF YOU HATERS WILL BE SAYING,

"DAMMMMMMMMMMM......THESE DRAGONS HAVE IT GOING ON. THESE BOYS ARE INCREDIBLE....."

AFTERWARDS , YOU ARE ALL WELCOME TO JUMP ABOARD OUR FAMILY AND ENJOY THE RIDE FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.

WE HOLD NO GRUDGES ON PAST HATERS. WE TRULY UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU WERE COMING FROM. WE ARE IN AWWW OURSELVES!!!!

Great post Paul, KNEW there had to be something like that. So 7000 vs 2000 deal, plus recruiting. I know they have a soft schedule. I watch the tapes of that Sam McAuffie or whatever his name is, no dount the kid is talented, but you can tell he is going against some soft teams in those high lights

RAILBIRD ,

THIS IS A BOGUS STATEMENT FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS NO CLUE. ILL TELL THE TRUTH. FIRST OF ALL, SAM MCGUFFIE has absolutely nothing to do with SLC. Secondly, the schedules are not soft. Of course there are going to be teams that are way below par on anyones schedule. I assure you that all teams have a hatred for SLC all over Texas. But after the game is played they have respect.

Now for some imfo that may bring a smirk to your face........recruiting???? LOL.....SLC is one of the wealthiest areas in the USA. SLC takes its highschool football very very very serious. All commerce in Southlake is supportive of the Dragons. So you tell me, .....Daddy need a job? got a kid who can play some ball? LOL.......Money talks baby......and trust me ...the BS walks.
Oh well.....prove it........hahahahaha

And for you PAULB......its not cheating.......its called the luxury of a well educated over achieving community who calls their own shots. Did you know that Miami Northwestern was the 3rd choice for the team to play against SLC in this game? Did you also know that SLC had opted to be moved to a larger bracket many years ago due to the dominance that they had in sports?

P.S

The money never stops rolling here, not to sound rude ...just stating facts as usual!!!!! Oh and by the way ......this is coming from a HICK TEXAS TOWN.........maybe you should not consider any of this ........LOL .......some of you guys are truly pathetic.

We'll be at the game. It will be very interesting to see the match-up.

You have raw talent and speed as a team whole in Miami Northwestern and you have the tradition rich Carroll Dragons.

It will be interesting to see how the scheme of Carroll handles the athletes.

MNW reminds me alot of Lufkin or even LaMarque...... I think the game will be close.........

WRONG!

If you took into consideration of coaches, athletes, facilities, fan support, atmosphere, etc.

Texas High School Football is #1.

And, there is NO other state that even comes close!!!!!

This is who Southlake Carroll played in front of over 60,000 fans at Texas Stadium last year in the playoffs.

Euless Trinity.......probably the largest high school team in the nation.

This is Trinity against Waco High. Waco High really isn't that small...Trinity just dwarfs them. (Trinity is in white)

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SUPERCENTEX. I do admire your support all the way from Austin. So let me ask you 1 question.

There was 1 specific thing that won this game for the dragons. They did not win this game in the air. They did not win this game on the ground. They did not win this game from bad officiating. They did not win this game because they were the better team.

what was it that won this game? 1 word please.

Well, I would not go as far as saying that they dont want floridas Best. I think they do want the best Florida has to offer. I know quite a bit about MNW. They are a an extremely awsome team.NO DOUBT.

On the other hand, I know the SLC Dragons like I know my home. More than talent on this SLC team. Mental awareness, coaching, strength, stamina, adversity, HEART, a home crowd that will just absolutely rock MNW's world !!!.

I know its just 1 game , but this QB in SLC....hes gonna be the next Joe Montana/ Troy aikman.

Ive seen very limited video of MNW. All I know mostly is what I read and hear from some friends in Florida.

I live like 2 blocks from where this game will be played and I can gaurantee that The Heat will be unbearable for these guys from Florida. September 15 is still way too hot for outsiders. SLC is not a team who likes to run the score up on opponents. MNW is just that. SLC is all about class and I can see a an extremely classy victory that day. I predict a 49-14 score and I will back off of that just a tad. ........ 35--14.....

the line did move yesterday in this game to SLC-7.5

Obviously you know little about NW starting with those stats. Jacorry Harris is an elite 11 QB. Read on.

Talk about it in the Message Boards

There is no bigger honor in the summer for a high school quarterback than being named to the Elite 11 camp. Over the past few weeks, several standout quarterbacks around the country were anxiously waiting the phone call to hear that they have been extended an invitation for one of the last few spots. On Friday afternoon one of the Sunshine State's bright stars got that call and FlaVarsity.com spoke with the talented gunslinger.

<!--Start Harris_IN2 Image--><SCRIPT language=Javascript>document.write(insertImage('http://vmedia.rivals.com/uploads/957/506761.jpg', '506761.jpg', 0, 255, 200, 1, 'Harris received a Elite 11 invitation Friday afternoon', '', 1183161291000, 'Harris_IN2', 957, 'Align=Left'));</SCRIPT><TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=208 align=left border=0><TBODY><TR><TD width=202>

</TD></TR><TR><TD align=middle>Harris received a Elite 11 invitation Friday afternoon</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><!-- End Harris_IN2 Image-->Northwestern QB Jacory Harris had an unbelievable season for the Bulls, leading them to their first State Title since 1998. He threw for over 3,000 yards and 35 touchdowns. Still, Harris felt like he had something to prove when he started attending camps across the state of Florida this summer.

"You hear it all the time where people are saying that you are just on a great team and that's why you are so good. I'm not going to lie, it motivated me to improve every aspect of my game. I spent a lot of time in the off-season preparing myself to show off my skills at quarterback," explained Harris.

On Friday afternoon all that work paid off when the talented quarterback was extended an invitation to attend the National Elite 11 camp. The incredible news even stunned Harris who was worried because he missed the first regional Elite 11 camp because of a travel problem.

"I was absolutely blown away and I can't put into words how excited I am right now. That's a huge honor to play with some of the nations' best in California. I've never been to California, so I'm just looking to show what I can do, but also have a good time in meeting a lot of different prospects that maybe later I might run into on the college scene."

FlaVarsity.com also spoke with Brian Stumpf of Student Sports to find out what really stood out about this talented Sunshine State star.

"All the coaches for Elite 11 were pretty emphatic about Harris and his skills at the quarterback position. He does a very good job with his reads, is athletic and throws a really nice tight ball for his receivers. Jacory also has very nice presence in the pocket and that was something we all noticed very early on at the Miami NIKE camp. Harris also had above average footwork. I think with most South Florida quarterbacks they aren't mechanically good like Jacory was so that surprised us some," said Stumpf.

There was no question it was a tough choice, especially with all the talented quarterbacks in the state of Florida. But Harris was a prospect that really stood out for a lot of Elite 11 coaches who got a chance to view the standout in action.

"The state is loaded with potential and it's really tough breaking it down, but with Harris he was the type of kid that had the perfect attitude every time you talked with him. Coming from a top team Miami Northwestern, I guess in the back of your mind you think maybe you will have a kid that just thinks he is better than anyone else, but Harris was different. He took in everything and took to heart what all the coaches were telling him and clearly improved all day long."

One area Harris has to his credit is his size, but Stumpf indicates that had zero bearing when selecting the talented gem to the Elite 11.

"You look at the talent and improvement. Jacory could be 6-foot-1 and still be very impressive out there. He has a very strong feel for the quarterback position and that was clearly apparent as the day went on and we got to evaluate him. I was very impressed with the touch he put on the ball and when need be, put a little zip behind it. He's going to be a very good fit for the Miami Hurricanes."

<!--Start Harris_IN Image--><SCRIPT language=Javascript>document.write(insertImage('http://vmedia.rivals.com/uploads/957/506760.jpg', '506760.jpg', 0, 244, 200, 1, 'Harris led the Bulls to a 6A State Championship in 2006', '', 1183161380000, 'Harris_IN', 957, 'Align=Right'));</SCRIPT><TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=208 align=right border=0><TBODY><TR><TD width=6 rowSpan=3>

</TD></TR><TR><TD align=middle>Harris led the Bulls to a 6A State Championship in 2006</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><!-- End Harris_IN Image-->Even with his amazing talents, Stumpf feels that his talents have only begin to scratch the surface.

"Naturally the first thing you look at it is Jacory will need to put on some weight at the next level because there is no way a quarterback will be able to survive in big time college football at 175 pounds. He's growing physically, so that will come, but no more than most high school products at this stage."

While Harris was surprised, his performance at the Miami NIKE camp almost never happened.

"I was worried that because I missed the Elite 11 which was held the day before the Miami NIKE Camp. I thought that my chance was gone. But when the NIKE camp came around, I knew it was time to turn it up a notch," replied Harris.

What made the feat even more impressive is how loaded the state is with talent this year. The 6-foot-4, 175 pound senior just took it as a challenge.

"I'm a competitor, so when it's time to show who the best is, the big time players step up and I felt very comfortable that I did that. You look at the rankings sometimes on Rivals, but you also have to keep everything in perspective and learn what mistakes you made the previous time out and I did that."

As Stumpf briefly mentioned, Harris was extremely attentive and executed every time the Elite 11 coaches were working with him.

"When you look at all the talented quarterbacks the Elite 11 coaches have helped, it's a respect factor and if you want to improve, you have to put forth an open mind. They can say something a billion times, but until your heart and mind is ready to be open to listen, you're not going to improve. I know the coaches knew exactly what they were doing and it had work so well for so many other talented guys and I want to be apart of that class."

With his selection now punched, how much confidence does this give the talented quarterback?

"Well I felt pretty confident going in because I knew coaches just had to view my game film and see me in action. Like I said before, most people just think I throw the ball and all our athletes for Northwestern just go get it, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. You have to place the ball so it makes everything easier on the skill type players and I worked extremely hard on that before my junior season.

Now I'm just so thrilled that hard work and determination has paid off with the Elite 11 selection. I'm really without words right now, but I'm just antsy to get out there in California and perform very well."

Ok here we are as I promised. I will share everything that I recieve on MNW as well as SLC.

Here is a video of MNW. I would hope that you notice the words "FUCK, MOTHER ******, SHIT, and GOD-DAM" my my my.....such a shame for our kids. Also take notice in Players fighting coaches and the total lack of respect from player to coach. This is a 10 minute video which will lose your interest very fast!!!!!!!! Im not trying to like go on and on about this game. I am simply offering some SWEET advice on "EASY MONEY". I assure you that SLC is nothing like this. THIS IS A DAM SHAME!!!!!!

SLC will not let you make 1 mistake. It will cost you. The Dragons play mistake free football and are coached by superior coaches who instill respect ,knowledge, Discipline and love for the game. after you watch this video , I have no doubts in my mind that you will lay out the maximum wager on the SLC Dragons as for the line is -7.5 right now. This is a truly sad show on film for FLORIDAS BEST. I for one am terribly disappointed. Yes they are some big tough black kids from what looks like the hood and they will be playing over achieving wealthy white boys from the suburbs.

Good luck in your choice. After watching this video, nothing .....absolutely nothing .....could change my mind on the outcome of this game. If a player ...including Riley Dodge was to pull this stunt against a coach .....LOL......adios amigos!!!!!! Lack of respect and discipline is so obvious here, and if you know anything about the game ......Discipline wins evrytime where there is a severe lack of it.

SLC is WAY overrated!! Texas fans and some FL fans say that have great coaching they are not a good tackilng team. They were trying to tackle high, not wrapping up, missing alot of tackles. Strength?? A 5'9 170 pounds slow back ran All over them!!! It took 2-3 people to bring him down. It's seems as if he was moving in slow motion getting 5-10 yards a carry. Southlake Carroll's Defense HAS TO BE BETTER than last year's team if they have any chance in this game against NW. Weslake's Qb was slinging the ball all over the field and SLC had trouble sticking with their receivers and didn't get alot of pressure on the QB. The no huddle caught Westlake's Defense off guard at times, but Westlake's db's were HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! Second half on the bomb's SLC scored on Weslake's Db's are back pedaling 20 yds down the field!!!!! How do you cover someone back pedaling all the way down the field!!! And if they were not back pedaling the were tripping over their own feet falling in coverage. Westlake's SLOW defense was getting pressure on Dodge but Westlake's LB's are super slow!!!!! Westlake had to have at least over 300 yds of offense on SLC. Newton is decent but he doesn't seem to run hard. He had a big run where he broke alot of tackles which westlake players just seemed to try to tackle him up high and not wrap up. Both teams did this the whole game. Newton seems to take plays off and does not seem to be that physical or fast. All 3 of NW's LB's can cover him and deliver the punishment. Neither team had any hitters on their team. Being that this was 2 of the states best I would think the defense on both teams would have been more aggressive. SLC is not a physical team. To me this game changed when SLC went to deep ball. Westlake's db's have to technique at all. NW will not have a problem with their wr's they have MUCH better technique than Westlake db's. You would have to have seen NW play and SLC play live or in dvd to relate to where I'm coming from. Honestly I tried looking for something to really stand out and wow me from SLC but honestly I could not. You can post this thread on TX board, save it or whatever, From what I've seen, NW will beat SLC by 3-4 tds and would be suprised if SLC gets more than 21 pts. I like William Cole from CEDAR HILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Feel that team would have beat SLC easily last year. To be honest their halftime highlights as well as Lamarque's was best part of this dvd.

yep, exactamundo my man.

U know when u are talking to someone for the first time, and you can smell, feel the attitude seething from them. Like they dont give a rat's ass what u say. Something to the effect that u are talking and they are looking at you, but arent giving a shit about what u say. They are just waiting for you to stop so they can chime in. And it just ticks you off to no end that someone would be so outrageously pampas, so uppity,as to their crap dont stink and no matter what u were to say, it doesnt matter....that there past experiences were far more grand than yours.

I kind of like to think of it as the "4 wisdom teeth people" Have u ever got just 2 widsom teeth taken out and was maybe telling someone about it, and these idiot douchebags always have to chime in about how they got 4 wisdom teeth cut out....it was WAY worse than your measley 2 wisdom teeth.....like their wisdom teeth was impacted....had like fucking roots growing out their nose...basically they were a warthog....

that is the way i feel about a few particular people in this thread.

thanks

ok auggie dawg .......I get your point by what you said in this statement. I do know the feeling that you juststated and you could not be more true!!!!!! MAN I HATE PEOPLE LIKE!!!!! Ive had 1 wisdom tooth and pulled and it was awful. I cant imagine 2 or 4 !!!!

anyways If I sound like this .....I apologize. I just get so pissed when idiots start talking shit about something they have no clue about. I on the other hand openly admitted to having very little knowledge of MNW and have reapeatedly asked for imfo here......HELLO.......seems all that I got was a bunch of lip from some smart ass kids who just wanted to bash. Fine with me .......I can dish it out too......Your little bandwagon of SLC haters sure can dish it out .....but when the facts are put on the table ........Seems all they can do is run their silly little mouths. I did not start that irrellevant caca. I will go there if thats what it takes to get some good imfo on the Bulls.

Too bad this thread has turned into a bashing fest. That is not what it was intended for . But yall keep bringing it .....and Ill keep dishing it out to......with facts ....not irellevant opinions.
