V. Zvonareva 7 6
V. Azarenka 6 2

Solid performance by Vera Zvonareva , some great shots from the baseline in that match . First set was pretty close one but as predicted Azarenka couldnt keep her emotions under control and lost the first set on tiebreak . Second set Zvonareva played much better and secured her first tournament victory this season .

Seppi at home in Italy against a 36 years old Santoro who is just playing for fun these days and trying to please the crowd with tricky and crazy shots but thats about it . I cant see him beating Seppi not to speak on slower courts like this one .

This one looks like stealing money from a baby , especially the first match . Karlovic is horrible on clay courts and he should be very lucky to force his patented tiebreak in this match .
Bolelli playing in front of his italian home crowd will give him a huge confidence boost , not like he should really need it here as he is by far the better player out of the two .

Terrible start of the match for Seppi with many unforced errors and he did need some time to get confidence in his shots and when this happened his 36 years old opponent didnt have much to offer .

A. Murray 5 6 1
J. del Potro 7 4 0

Parlay : + 6 units

Wasnt able to watch this match so all I know is that del Potro retired in the third set .

Parlay bet was placed at 2 sets bookie ( all bets stand if 2 sets are completed ) .

Never again I am betting on this brain injured frenchman Mathieu , guy is not even trying , total garbage just letting his opponent win .

Adding the other play as a single bet .

Start time : 2:30PM (EST)

Olivier Patience vs Simone Bolelli

My pick is Simone Bolelli to win

Odds : - 315

Bookmaker : pinnaclesports

31.5 units to win 10 units

Absolutely no doubt about Bolelli - he is firing from all cylinders and his efforts in Munich where he was unlucky to come out on the wrong end of a thrilling final were nothing short of sensational. He is a very good player with good versatility, great movement and some seething groundstrokes that can trouble most on his day. Patience is somewhat of a journeyman veteran who has always found this league a little too slick, and add to that playing a red-hot player in their home country this is going to be a quick win for the local boy , Bolelli in straight sets .

I. Karlovic 7 6
P-H.Mathieu 6 2

Just tanked after losing the first set , dont feel like I was wrong with this bet because nobody could predict Mathieu would just quit like that .

Any thoughts on Ferrer-Stepanek or Gonzalez-Koroley tomorrow? I'm thinking about putting them in a parlay.

I wont be surprised if any of them goes down or even both . Gonzo played a lot last week and I dont know how much he has left in his tank , same with Ferrer .

Just as expected an easy win for Bolelli , wish I could find decent odds for straight sets victory .

7 May

Start time : 9.30 AM (EST)

Nicolas Lapentti vs Fernando Verdasco

My pick is Fernando Verdasco to win

Odds : - 156

Bookmaker : pinnaclesports

15.6 units to win 10 units

Preview by thedestroyer9 :

Lapentti continued his great recent run with a hard-fought slog victory over local hope Volandri. The match was full of break point opportunities - to which the Ecuadorian didn't always take but got away with it in the end having the superior serve and a little heavier off the ground. Verdasco, who is very much a form and momentum player, has now ended his bad run with a telling victory over former mentor Moya who was a player he and a lot of other younger Spaniards have looked up to. He ended a 0-5 h2h deficit with a clinical straight sets win, and has the fresher legs than Lapentti who had a tough time even qualifying here and had very little rest time in between Monte Carlo, Barcelona and then here. Verdasco has that flash of brilliance that he can call upon, but is also very speedy and just as stout in his defenses. If Lapentti can't reconjure the serving performances that did him so well in the previous 2 tournaments, the Spaniard will have the upper hand in the baseline rallies and it will be curtains for the veteran. I'd be very surprised if Lapentti's run didn't end here tonight - with Fernando presented with a great opportunity to reach the quarters here given his half of his quarter contains Blake as the seed.

I am off to bed , might add a bet on either Starace or Davydenko later even tho it is very hard to trust these guys .<!-- / message -->

N. Lapentti 2 7 2
F. Verdasco 6 5 6

Close match between Lapentti and Verdasco , Verdasco came back from 2 breaks down in the second set just to get broken again at 5-5 but he pretty much controlled the last set .
Wish I would bet on Davydenko but its very hard to trust this guy especially in the early rounds .
Nadal lost to Ferrero is an upset of the year , Ferrero was + 2000 underdog in this one !
Nadal has bunch of blisters and had to take a medical timeout few times but Ferrero played really brilliant and deserved to win this one .

Odds on Starace dropped from - 180 to - 145 , I am gonna skip this and call it a day .

Very interesting match between Djokovic and Almagro tomorrow . Djokovic looked very tired in his match today against Andreev and if it wasnt for the russian making many unforced errors in the deciding set he would take Novak out .
Almagro is a top 5 clay courter now and plays very nice tennis on the red stuff .

They actually met ages ago but this match means nothing tomorrow .

Nothing really stands out out of 8 matches I decided to place a bet on this one .

Wager Type : WTA fav ML

Qatar Telecom German Open. Berlin, Germany

Start time : 06:00 AM PST

Elena Dementieva vs Jelena Jankovic

My pick is Jelena Jankovic to win

Odds : - 180

Bookmaker : pinnaclesports

9 units to win 5 units

Preview by thedestroyer9

Jankovic is undoubtedly my favourite player on the women's side and until recent times I didn't favour her up against Dementieva as a match-up due to the Russian's relentless and accurate attack. But the last three meetings between the two, the Serb has won all 3 (6-0 in sets and an amazing 33-8 in games) and one of those matches was in Rome last year on the dirt. Dementieva, as rael mentioned, was abysmal on serve yesterday and it would be sad to see a re-occurance of her old serving yip days. In full flight, she is a delight to watch with her flat aggressive groundstrokes and incredible movement, but her confidence does seem to be lacking. Jankovic was clinical in her display against Kirilenko, never allowing the Russian to settle and proving far too steady from the back of the court. Whilst Dementieva's serve wasn't too flash yesterday, Jankovic has always been labelled as having only one weakness - that serve as well. She is incredible in defense, hits so well down the line to turn the defense into attack, and is one of the finer athletes on the tour barring any injuries which she is prone too on a regular basis. Jankovic has a major advantage on clay over most players not only because of her baseline consistency but also because she does the Clijsters-invented "split slide" extremely well which allows her to get the ball back and be in good position for the next shot.

HEAD TO HEAD : Jankovic leads 4-2
Rnk/Seed Year Event Surface Rnd Winner Score Rnk/Seed

11 / 10 2008 MIAMI HARD (O) Q J. JANKOVIC 6-1 3-1

Serena Williams might be a good bet to parlay Jankovic with to bring odds to around - 120 . I can hardly see Dinara Safina beating Serena today .

I am off to bed , hope Jankovic doesnt let me down when I wake up to check the results LOL
