This is the only match I've been trying to bet on this morning, I saw they are 1-1 with Berdych winning the last time in his home country. Wawrinka impressed me yesterday with his solid win over Nalbandian so I am going to lay 5 units on Wawrinka at +100. GL to us and whoever else.

  • Stanislas Wawrinka playing at home will be very motivated .
  • He lost to Berdych in the Davis Cup match month ago but has been playing great after this and will avenge his loss today .
  • Wawrinka played awesome yesterday against Nalbandian . He served 14 Aces and won 92 % of his first serve points .
  • Last year Stanislas made it to the semis here .
  • Tomas had a very tough match against F.Lopez and was not feeling well before that match . He was ill and asked tournament directors to postpone his match against Lopez so they played yesterday instead of Tuesday .
  • Berdych lost to Nalbandian last week in Madrid and Stanislas beat him in straight sets yesterday .
  • Wawrinka has a quality kick serve that could be a really potent weapon . He is very solid on the forehand side and has one of the best backhands in the game.
  • Berdych has plenty of power off the ground and a very useful serve but has failed to develop any variety in his game. He is still same tennis player he was years ago just like Hewitt where all other people improved a lot .
Add fishy lines to this . Wawrinka playing at home against a mentally weak Tomas Berdych and he is the underdog . I would say Wawrinka should be a 60 % favourite in this match so bookies want people to place their money on Berdych .

This should be :money8:

Nice analysis, BOL. did you see Roddick go down yesterday? Did Santoro get lucky and it was a fluke?? cuz I kinda like Grosjean as the underdog today against him.. .how did that old geezer beat Roddick?

Santoro played really well . He made some tricky shots . I would bet on Santoro but I dont like to bet when 2 frenchies are playing against each other .

Line is dropping on Wawrinka as we speak . People finally realized that there is a wrong favourite set by the bookies .

I like Molik against Schnyder today with a solid +345 underdog chance . Schnyder is a headcase and you never know what she is up to .
Kiefer to beat Koubek looks really good . Koubek has played a lot recently and will be burned out soon . Kiefer with an amazing run in Madrid : beating Wawrinka , Youzhny , Karlovic , Gonzalez .
I dont know how Koubek could have a chance here against Nicolas if he plays like he did in Madrid it will be a 6:3 6:2 win for Nicolas Kiefer .

I did , that was fkn bs , what a fix again . He wasnt even trying . They should put Davy in jail . Tennis is getting ridiculous . Think I will bet only Shanghai in this year and wait for the next season . Nobody cares anymore , so many people throw their matches . How many female players retired lately ?
Golovin , Bartoli , Dementieva , Kuznetzova just to name a few .

Yesterday another fix between Tursunov and Pashanski .

Tursunov lost first set and was down 0:2 in the second set and odds were still 1.18 on him at betfair , obvious he won second and third sets . Gj ATP :aktion033:aktion033:aktion033

Mikhail Youzhny Philipp Kohlschreiber

My pick is Mikhail Youzhny 1.64 at betfair 10 units

Head to head
<TABLE style="MARGIN-TOP: 10px" cellSpacing=5 cellPadding=0 width="80%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD width=110>31.08.07 </TD><TD>P. Kohlschreiber - M. • Head to head speaks for Kohlschreiber as he is leading 3:0 against Mikhail . I watched all 3 matches between them and I must say they were much closer than it looks by the stats .
  • Mikhail won that tournament in 2004 and lost in finals in 2002 .
  • Last time they played was at the US Open . Mikhail had an injury and was not able to move the way he would like to . He had 11 breakpoints but could only convert it once in the first set . Kohlschreiber had 8 breakpoints and did convert 4 out them .
  • Kohlschreiber had to retire after he lost the first set two weeks ago in Moscow Kremlin Cup against Berrer . He had an injury and had to withdraw from Madrid Masters . I am not sure if he is able to play his best because of that injury .
  • I really did not think I would see Mikhail in that round but his performance against Mario Ancic in the round before proved that Mikhail isnt done for this year yet . Mario Ancic with wins over Mathieu , Blake and Gicquel in Madrid had no chance against Mikhail who played really great tennis .
  • Kohlschreiber with two wins over young russian players in the rounds before but you cant judge him by that performance .
  • Mikhail is a better Indoor Hard Courts player between them two .

Now to Cilic vs Davydenko match ...

The umpire gave Davydenko a code violation for "lack of best effort" pretty much accusing him of tanking.

He argued, the umpire cited a lot of double faults, Davydenko said sometimes he does that, like in the Moscow final, umpire said yeah but you served 4 in like 2 games and only 1 the whole second set, plus you weren't trying to return Cilic's serve very hard, Davydenko's all like I have problems, umpire said I asked you if you were okay a couple of games ago and you said it was nothing, why haven't you called the doctor, then Davydenko attempted to call the doctor then, claiming rather weakly he had pain in his legs. Umpire wouldn't have it, they argue some more, umpire's had enough and say resume play, Davydenko wants the doctor, umpire says not now, at the next change of ends ask them if you want him, play resumes. Davydenko does not call for the doctor at the change of ends.

I have 2 more plays for today so here is the first one :

26 October

St.Petersburg Open

G858_AT.jpg
vs
C977_AS.jpg

Ernests Gulbis vs Marin Cilic

My pick is Ernests Gulbis 1.59 at betfair to win 10 units !

Head to head

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD>16/2007 CH Marrakech (MAR)</TD><TD class=srf_clay>Clay</TD><TD>Marin Cilic</TD><TD>Ernests Gulbis</TD><TD>6-3 3-6 6-4</TD><TD>Second</TD></TR><TR><TD>23/2006 CH Furth (GER)</TD><TD class=srf_clay>Clay</TD><TD>Ernests Gulbis</TD><TD>Marin Cilic</TD><TD>3-6 6-3 7-6(3)</TD><TD>q-Second</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Doesnt mean much as they are playing on a Indoor Hard Court today .

Indoor Hard Court :

Marin Cilic 15-7

Ernests Gulbis 23-6 with 3 titles this year on the challenger circuit , all on Indoor Hard Courts

  • Gulbis really IMPRESSIVE in this tournament so far . He destroyed T.Johannson in the first round 6:2 6:1 and Massu with the same score in round 2 only dropping 2 points on his first serve !!! He got a huge serve and Marin will not get anywhere near a breakpoint in this match .
  • Cilic advanced through Nikolai Davydenko to this round but it only happened because Davydenko threw that match ( scroll down on this page ) .
  • Gulbis made it to semis here last year .
  • Cilics game is more suited for a Grass court and having a decent serve himself he doesnt look good when he is at the net .

3 winners are already in from that parlay with 2 more games to go . I feel pretty confident with Gulbis over Cilic and hope Berdych will not be a letdown . He played really well against Wawrinka , too bad I had my money on Stanislas but I hope Berdych will do good for me today . Karlovic has played so many matches in the last few weeks , he is due to loose one again soon and I think it will be today .
