Hey Rhino, you think Blake will beat Ancic today? Bored at work and wanted to get action, but i saw the line was very little -130 blake to +100 ancic, any lean on this? thanks!

Hope you didn't take Blake. Apparently he was garbage today. Had a lean on Ancic but wasn't confident enough to pull the trigger.

Sorry for hijacking the thread Brainiac. Unlucky with Gasquet. Seems like he had alot of chances just couldn't convert in the important moments.

This is just my luck I guess . Gasquet had set points in every set but still lost this match 2 : 0 .
6 bps in the first set but could not convert any :ohno: and lost serving to stay in the match with 6:5 for Mathieu in the second set . Mathieu did not impress me here and I will bet 20 units on Mario Ancic when they meet in the third round .

Mikhail Youzhny Nicolas Kiefer

My pick is Nicolas Kiefer 1.76 at betfair 10 units play !

Kiefer played really well against Wawrinka and won in straight sets . I like the way he has been playing recently . Youzhny lost to Kiefers fellow germans like Petzschner and Berrer in Russia and this cant mean anything good . Mikhail does like to play in Russia and performs well unless he is not in a good form which is the case now . Kiefer knows this court after his game with Stanislas and I think will take this one today .

Follow me at your own risk because this is just my gut feeling and I want to cover some of my losses today .

Nicolas with another solid performance after his first round win over Wawrinka . Not to take anything away from him but Youzhny looked really bad . I think it is a good idea to fade him for the rest of the year .

Did not see the game because I was sleeping but looking at their stats it was a solid win by Super Mario . Mathieu got lucky yesterday against Gasquet who probably forgot that they werent playing on a clay court :missingte

Zurich Open , Round 2

Start time : 11.55 am

vs

Francesca Schiavone Patty Schnyder

My pick is Patty Schnyder 1.55 at betfair 10 units play

  • Patty is playing at home today after her first round win over an injured Serena Williams who had to retire in the second set ( 0:6 0:3 ) . She will be very motivated today playing in front of her home crowd .
  • Schiavone advanced to this round due to Elena Dementievas retirement in their match yesterday . Dementieva won the first set but was not able to move properly in the second set and thought about other things but not tennis . She kept talking to her mother during the games who was sitting in the crowd . This is against the WTA rules but the umpire did not give her a single warning for doing that . It is really annoying to watch Elena with all that talk during the match . Schiavone won the second set 6 : 1 but not because she played so great . Dementieva was 1:0 up in the third and had a breakpoint but was not able to convert it and ended up being 2:4 down in the third set . She did retire during a break so Schiavone advanced to the second round .
  • The odds are right in my opinion . Patty is playing at home in Switzerland so the motivation will be there and the crowd will help her .
  • Schiavone had a lot of unforced errors against an injured Elena Dementieva and I do not think there will be less unforced errors today so Patty will have her opportunities to win this match .

Adding a parlay , one match today and one match tomorrow .

Zurich Open , Round 3

Marion Bartoli vs Tatiana Golovin

My pick is Tatiana Golovin

Stefan Koubek vs Feliciano Lopez

My pick is Feliciano Lopez

Stefan Koubek vs Feliciano Lopez

My pick is still Feliciano Lopez to win

7.5 units to win 4.05 units at betfair

  • Koubek is always a good bet at the 1st few stages of tournaments when he is still fresh. After yesterday's grueling match he appeared tired due to the amount of mileage he puts on due to his small stature. If one gets tired, you tend to loose concentration and Koubek will pay against a man like Lopez. The fast surface plays to the Spaniard's style and their match is in Madrid today .
P.S: Patty is a real headcase . She had this match in the bag and so many breakpoints missed is just unreal . After this parlay I will never bet on a WTA match anymore.

Really disgusting to watch something like that . Schiavone had no chance in the first set and then after not converting a breakpoint Schnyder gives up . Schnyder was playing like shit afterwards and you could see it in her eyes that she is not going to win this match . Her head was clearly elsewhere and if you thought Chakvedatze is a headcase ...

YTD : 9-3 + 14.76 units

<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=331 bgColor=#666666 border=0><TBODY><TR bgColor=#cfcfcf><TD align=right width=166>S. Koubek</TD><TD align=middle width=20> </TD><TD align=middle width=20>6</TD><TD align=middle width=20>1</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

A very tight first set that decided the outcome of the match . Koubek was not ready for another 3 setter for the third time in 3 days .

YTD : 10-3 + 18.81 units

Tatiana Golovin has to beat Marion Bartoli tomorrow to earn me 12 units from the parlay with F.Lopez .

I am pretty confident with this play .

  • Tatiana plays amazing tennis in the last weeks with a tournament win in Slovenia , loss in the finals of Porsche Tennis Grand Prix to Henin in 3 sets . She did beat Chakvetadze , K. Bondarenko , Kuznetsova all in 2 straight sets but was not able to beat Justine after winning the first set .
  • Here in Zurich she already added 2 more very impressive wins both in 2 straight sets over Kirilenko and Ana Ivanovic .
  • Bartoli played a lot of tennis this year and is looking very tired in her last matches .
  • Tomorrow Tatiana will show that she is the best female french player at the moment .

Bartoli retired in the first set leading 5-4 serving for the set . Would be interesting if she won the first set 6-4 and then retired to gain me 12 units . With her retirement I only got 4.9 units for that parlay from Lopez vs Koubek match . Bartoli vs Golovin counts as a push .

Arnaud Clement Benjamin Becker

My pick is Arnaud Clement 1.50 at betfair 10 units!

Head to head

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD>1/2007 ATP Adelaide (AUS)</TD><TD class=srf_hard>Hard</TD><TD>Arnaud Clement</TD><TD>Benjamin Becker</TD><TD>7-5 6-1</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

  • They will play on a carpet court where Benjamin only played 2 matches in his career (0-2) . His last match on a carpet court was about 2 years ago against Paradorn Srichaphan .
  • We have Arnaud Clement playing at home in France here which should be a very big advantage against a shaky Benjamin Becker .
  • Clement played in Madrid and was very close to beating the later tournament winner D.Nalbandian and in Stockholm he lost to another tournament winner Ivo Karlovic taking a set from both of them .
  • Benjamin Becker is back to reality now again after his run in Bangkok where he lost in finals to Dima Tursunov , before this tournament he lost 7 times in round 1 in a row . Loss in Tokyo against Ivo Karlovic where a player like Ivo managed to break him 3 times ( 6-4 , 6-3 )and a first round loss to P.Luczak in Stockholm followed his success in Bangkok .
  • Clement plays deep from the baseline and is very solid off both wings, but is not afraid to pull the trigger and up the aggression. He can play at the net if he needs to .Becker is more one-dimensional and less crafty . Benjamin will have to serve really great here or Clement will be all over him with his returns of the serve .
