This is a sad case. As a retired peaceofficer, I can tell you that this has all the makings of a murder-suicide. If it were a regular hit, McNair would not have received multiple gun shot wounds and the girl only one. I do not know all the facts, but this is not as atypical as some may think. The girl was obiously a player and had been around the block several times. I would really like to see the results of the Tox tests that they should have taken.

At any rate, this really does not come as a surprise. Shocking that McNair was the one, but if it had happened to Palxico or Pac Man, would anyone be suprised? This is what the NFL is turning into. Players going to jail, killing people, getting killed or injured, drugging up, and doing stupid things on a regular basis now. I think that things like this happens when people who come from a family lacking in money and other luxuries all of a sudden are given millions of dollars to perform. Mentally, they have no clue as to how they will handle their instant wealth. So they decide to show the world. Then they start believeing that they are Mr. Everything and no one can tell them what to do. I'm just suprised that so few of them have been gunned down recently. These guys think they are Macho, but in reality, they are basically nothing but rich people who probably would be in jail or slinging burgers at McD's if it were not for their sport. What happened to the financial advisors and agents who were suppose to look out for these guys? You would think that the NFL would provide some type of finanacial planning and counseling on a serious level, but as far as the NFL is concerned, these guys are nothing more than cattle anyways. Use them as long as they are good, then discard them once you have no further use for them. It is a sad coomentary, but a truthful one.

Why would the agents or financial guys tell them "no," they don't want the fauct shut off either.

the nfl does provide 'financial planning and counseling'. then the nfl discards them w/millions of $$ in their pocket? don't agree w/bigtendominator here.

The rookie symposium is fine and dandy, but after 3 days off it the guys are not taking it to heart.

The NFL provides them with an overview, but they don't hire the financial gurus and agents. The agents steer them towards certain financial guys.

Some interesting questions and it does make you wonder what really happened here. First of all Eddie George says he is certain this is a double homicide. Second of all, read this:

But there are several questions that should be answered. Why did Wayne Neely, Steve McNair's friend and the first person to discover the bodies, call a friend before a call was placed to 911? Why didn't Wayne Neely call 911 himself as soon as he noticed the blood? Have there been any witnesses to corroborate his story that he arrived at the condominium at 7:00 a.m. Was he there earlier?

Did any witnesses hear gunshots or any kind of popping noise. At least five shots were fired. This is known because of the four shots that hit Steve McNair and the one that ended Sahel Kazemi's life. But there may have been more. The sounds may have been ignored due to the deaths occurring on July 4 (fireworks and firecrackers going off everywhere at any given moment), but several witnesses put Steve McNair at a couple of local nightclubs until about 1:30 a.m. There exists a window of roughly five hours for the shots to have occurred within, assuming that Wayne Neely's story of when he entered the condominium is accurate.

And Keith Norfleet's story may be the one that is most puzzling. Wayne Neely may have hesitated and called in a friend for support, guidance, or simply hoping to provide damage control to Steve McNair's image, but Keith Norfleet's involvement in the McNair / Kazemi relationship is intriguing to many. And how did he know that the person banging on his door in the early morning hours of July 4th was Sahel Kazemi? Did he actually see her? Or was it just a voice he heard? And why rush around attempting to find her or find out if the dead woman in the news reports was his ex-girlfriend? If they were still as close as he says, why didn't he know where she stayed?

Of course, Keith Norfleet could simply be attempting to inject himself into the investigation for the thrill of his 15 minutes of fame. He may have concocted his entire story for the drama of it all.

There is no doubt that the Nashville Police have their work cut out for them on this case. Several scenarios and hundreds of permutations or variations present themselves. And with some of the major actors in the mystery not talking -- Mechelle McNair -- or barely divulging anything -- the Nashville Police -- rumor and speculation will run rampant, catalyzed by what is not known, what is known, and what can be insinuated and/or extrapolated.

One thing is certain: if test results show that Sahel Kazemi's death was not the result of a suicide shot to the head, Wayne Neely and Keith Norfleet will definitely be seeking legal counsel.

Sounds like this is probably McNair's crib on the side that he's had for years. Just guessing but I'd say McNair probably asked that chick out. She was gaga over being able to date a celebrity, dumps her boyfriend of 4 years. McNair's getting ass non-stop for 5 months puts the Escalade in his name so that when they break up he can get it back, let's her move into his ho crib while she moves out of her boyfriend's place. She falls in love, he plays along because it's some young fine ass telling her he's going to leave his wife,( if she even knew that he had a wife at all,) he loves her, etc. etc., months pass, no sign of him leaving his wife, maybe he even says that he's not breaking up his family, or she just finds out for the first time that he's married. She's obviously devastated realizing she dumped a 4 year relationship for this and snaps. I would also bet anything that the gun used ends up being registered to McNair. I would be surprised if it doesn't play out something like that.

chicks are crazy, especially when it comes to affairs of the heart. It looks like I was wrong about the gun being registered to McNair, not sure why a 20 year old female would feel the need for a gun unless she was planning to use it. Looks like that was the case. What's that saying, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Now they say she bought a gun a couple days before the shooting. So let me see...

Wed night -- she is caught on a DUI with McNair as passenger.
Thurs/Fri -- she buys gun
Fri night/Sat -- McNair goes to her place
Sat -- they are shot dead

After the DUI, McNair probably told her that he was done with her in no uncertain terms. She previously thought she had him. She gets pissed and buys a gun. She convinces him to come over one last time to talk or whatever. Then she kills him and herself.

sounds about right. Damn, if only he hadn't ate at Dave & Busters. I wonder if McNair made her switch seats when they were pulled over. Who let's the chick drive?

how can you buy a hand gun without a 3 day hold and also don't you have to be 21 to purchase a hand gun now???

You would have to check Tennessee law regarding that. But aparently, this hand gun is going to turn out to be the murder weapon, so even though there will always be rumors of "hits" and a "double murder" it is very aparent that this was probably a Murder/Suicide. The crime sceene tells all, and if there was an intruder, friend or foe, I doubt that Mc Nair would have been sitting down on the couch. You also have to take into consideration all the evidence, like prints, possible DNA, gunshot residue, etc... There alway is the possibility of foul play, but that looks rather doubtful in this case.
