the raven won't even win their division. lou you never answered my previous questions. Did you have last years selection? I know you have said you had new england; but that wasn't last year! Did you have last years winner? That you have denver on your list leads to suspicion. I hope you do hit your pick so that next football year.

following teams through the season and, when their record reaches a certain point (say, 6-6 Green Bay), announcing that they are no longer in contention is particularly useful. I think anyone can figure that out, and there may be some team that has been announced as "out of contention" that sneaks a wild card and gets on a roll and wins it all. Then where are you?

Anyway, I don't object to you doing it Lou, I just think I'm as free to post an opinion as you are to run the thread, don't take it so personally.

Gimme a Super Bowl prediction right now, I'll leave you alone

I think it's NE or Tenn from the AFC, NFC is a toss up. I'd like the Vikings mainly because they're my team, but Philly looks like they may be strongest. We'll see.

Lou my love, I gotta to bow to gods son here.

Baltimore is on the list and I simply fell in love with them today.

The Ram game set the tone for this team to destroy teams.

I am playing them this weekend in Vegas to win the AFC and superbowl..

They look mighty fine.

captain, Balt schedule certainly sets up for this play in my opinion. But, taking a team with this QB situation scary. Wright is a quarter away from blowing up. NFC this yearagain.

You do realize this project is ongoing until the season ends.

Lou,

I understand your project is ongoing and it really doesn't "predict" until the end of the regular season but what if the remaining AFC teams strike out?

I don't know if you saw my question in a previous post. Thanks in advance...

sb

P.S. Since this is more of an experimental formula (at least I am getting the feel that it is) you have other formulas to fall back on if all the AFC teams get knocked out? I'm interested in your reply. Thanks!

interesting thread, but of course there will be
a winner who was crossed off earlier even if
there hasn't been one of its kind yet.

case in point no system can predict who will be
arrested the day before the game for soliciting
an undercover policewoman for sex. if it's the
afc team's starting defensive back well then
maybe an x'ed-out nfc team will be the first to
win when their year's play tendency said they
shouldn't. or a qb tripping over their dog or
driveway in the week before the week before...

jimmy,

The Falcons didn't have a chance against the Broncos in 1998. The Eugene Robinson situation didn't help but they were outclassed in that game just as the Raiders were last year against Tampa Bay. Even if Barrett Robbins showed up it wouldn't have changed anything.

actually i agree with you big lou in the two
situations mentioned, i didn't have a bet either
way before they occured and made my bet after
the news... just speculating on what might throw
a loop for the system that has worked fine and a
note to not go overboard in betting in general.

You just crapped on your own system; which is to say, now everyone should realize this is BS!!!

The original premise was to eliminate teams that could NOT win the super bowl due to statistical/or whatever facts. That means in the end, there could be several teams that COULD win the super bowl as you have no way of knowing how many teams it would eliminate before you started.

NOW you're saying it will leave only ONE team, the winner. It's called bait & switch or whatever else, but it is bogus.

I believe I said many times the winner will be announced after the regular season has ended.

I have no problem whatsoever with people that disagree with me. Then there are ignorant people like sammy that are too lazy to go back and read what I said. If this is the best you have, save it for threads started by panther.

Islander,

Eagles are out.

I will post the team that is going to win the Super Bowl before the first Wild Card game is played.

Let's see

Short and sweet, here are the teams that will not win the Super Bowl this year. All the teams listed have done things that Super Bowl champs do not do in order to win a championship. Nothing here is based on opinion. I will add to this list as the season progresses and more teams disqualify themselves.

It says nothing about ending up w/only one team, PERIOD. When you started this YOU had NO idea how many teams would be eliminated and how many would be left.

I went back through all the Super Bowl winning teams and looked for common characteristics, reasons why they won and reasons why other teams did not. From there I set up a set of parameters that teams could not do during the regular season if they want go on to win the Super Bowl.

AGAIN, you originally were just eliminating teams!!!

Both Baltimore and New England finished as the number one team in 2000 & 2001 respectively on this project that I developed all off-season.

AGAIN, number 1 team those two years implying that there were other teams elilgible. What bout the 20+ other superbowls, only one team then????

2 questions:

1. What if you get to post-week 17 and there are like 10 teams still going (i.e. not on your elimination list). You mentioned that Baltimore and NE were your "number one team in 2000 & 2001 respectively". How do they get ranked? Were they simply the last teams standing at the end.

2. What if all 32 teams make your elimination list?

TOTALLY ignored "BLUE'S questions which in of itself is the answer!

The whole point of this is to announce what team will win the Super Bowl after the regular season has concluded, as I have stated multiple times. I can't make it any clearer then that.

Big Lou

P.S. - In case you missed it sammy, the whole point of this is to announce what team will win the Super Bowl after the regular season has concluded.

IDENTITY

I cannot explain it fully enough to make everyone understand. The whole point of this is the reason why teams win Super Bowls hasn't changed and the winner will be announced after the last week of the regular season. Please allow this thread to go through the rest of the 2003 season. Like I said, if I'm wrong, feel free to wail on me.
