If you don't mind waiting, Sportsbook isn't THAT bad...

Wow - a lot of posts here about Sportsbook....

I wanted to put my 2 cents worth here. I've been a member of Sportsbook for about 2 1/2 years now. Payouts have always taken - oh, about forever. I had one really bad experience with a check I received (in Florida) that was based....in LEBANON (the country!). It took six weeks to clear my bank - but it did clear, with me biting my nails the entire time. And that was after I had waited 10 weeks for the check.

Checks since then have been a bit faster, but if I can get a check from Sportsbook within 6 weeks, that's a good process. If you're going to request the check, DEFINITELY check-off the Courier option. If nothing else, it gives you a level of tracking. And more than half the time Sportsbook won't even charge for it.

Now, about 3 months ago, I was offered the chance to use UseMyWallet (you've seen the invitation message in other posts in this thread). I finally had the chance to try it out 2 weeks ago. It took about 3 days for Sportsbook to process the request, and another 3-4 days for UseMyWallet to actually get the money. I immediately initiated a transfer from them to my bank account. TODAY (about a week later, but I can forgive the Thanksgiving holiday and other delays), I get a notice from my bank that the transfer for the requested amount ($760.00) is now pending. Whew! UseMyWallet did charge me $30, but I can live with that.

So, you can get payment in your hands in about 2 weeks, with UseMyWallet. But I'm sure Sportsbook payment performance is going to be sporatic. Larger amounts ($2000+) may take longer than usual, and there's really no excuse for that, but that's the nature of the online sportsbook business.

Bear in mind that Sportsbook deals with several different check processors, and I have received Sportsbook checks from different companies I have never heard of, based in Vegas, Arizona, and Florida (as well as Lebanon). I can only guess as to why Sportsbook does this (financial/legal insulation comes to mind, which I won't get into here). Some processors are better than others, and Sportsbook may not be DIRECTLY to blame.

I have an account with Bodog, but my winnings have so far not exceeded my buyins. :sad3: But I have heard that get payments from them is a total bitch as well.

BTW - I'm glad to hear that Wil can help out with payments.

Check cleared

My check arrived after 8 weeks from regular payout-Still checking to see if it clears. On the other hand, UseMyWallet payout was received within 4 days into the transfer agent and into my account 3 business days later. Much more effective and reasonable.

The check also cleared. Checked with bank after ten days (fewer business days given T-giving) and check was processed byt he drawer bank so that long process is over. Still rec. using the usemywallet method for speed

Hey guys..

So a few weeks ago I put $100 on sportsbook added on to like $95 I had on there.. Now, with a successful football season, my account is worth thousands and well over the Max Cashout ($2,500.00)..And now I have a couple of questions..

1) Am I gonna have to pay to cash out? Basically is there a check fee? From what I've read I get the impression that it's like $20..

2) To avoid suspiscion from my bank (They have to keep track of checks over a certain amount- maybe $2k?) and for faster proccessing (It was mentioned that there were delays for larger cashouts) should I cash out in small amounts more times or should I just get maximum limit checks?

Thank you for your help and any input is greatly appreciated..

1) There is a fee but it is frequently waived. I usually don't fuss over a $20 fee to cover a $1000 payout. Get the max $2500 check. If you want to pull $4000, I would suggest pulling $1999, then $2001 - that way if there is a problem it will be easier to trace WHICH payment has the problem.

2) Suspicion about what? You're depositing a $2k check? Weird bank you have. They are supposed to log checks over $10K to help deal with money launderers but other than that just drop the check in. It probably WON'T say "Sportsbook" on it.

BTW - don't CASH the check - deposit it. And wait a good 2 weeks before you touch the money, just in case something went wrong with the check processor and the check bounces.

Ahh - taxes. That's another reason why offshore books like Sportsbook use onshore payment processors - to help prevent all those nasty reporting requirements of the IRS.

But your bank shouldn't care whether you got your money from your employer or your recently deceased uncle. However, if you get audited, the IRS may demand copies of your bank statements and THEN they might pick over suspicious deposits. Don't know what your line of work or your income is, but 99.99% of Americans don't get audited, so I wouldn't worry about that. Just don't make any math errors on your tax return. :)

As far as paying taxes on your winnings, I would say, let your conscience and any contempt you may have for how the government is spending YOUR money be your guide.... :)

I'll chime in here, fellas, just to give some more perspective....

First off: Member at Sportsbook.com since 2002, and really had no problems since their sale from SportingBet.

Background: Hadn't withdrawn in a while but made my first withdrawal ($2500) from 9/20 canceled because of all the nonsense with faxing in an ID, utility bill, etc. Took care of that and made three withdrawals, the first on 10/1.

The first withdrawal takes 5 weeks to arrive and my bank holds the check for 5 days because it's an out-of-state (but drawn on a US bank) check over $2500 (stupid on my part). Wait a week and--of course--the check does not clear. Sportsbook.com won't do anything (despite my "VIP" status) unless I send a copy of the check back to them. Finally got that back from the back, sent it too them four days ago and STILL no word on the funds going back into my account. I'm well over three and a half months since I made the initial withdrawal.

The other two, well...who the fuck knows about those checks. The standard line is "our checks process in 4-8 weeks". Past 8 weeks on the second and almost 7 weeks on the third. No word. No email. Nothing.

I've since set up the UMW. I'm thinking they're +5000 for getting any money into my account before the end of the year. Bottom line: I'm looking at well over two months, before checks are even processed, let alone before the money hits my account. Absurd.

You do realize why you shouldn't post a picture of your check don't you? If you can't figure it out, you shouldn't be wagering.

If you want to send it via a PM to people that ask, that's different.

Hey...any of you guys have an experience with how long it takes after a check has bounced on Sportsbook? I sent in a bounced check over a week ago (previous post here) that I have yet (despite daily emails) to see any action on. How long has it taken for the funds to either be put back in the account or a new check sent out?

No personal experience with a bounced check from Sportsbook, but I would expect that they will want to verify that there was a problem with their processor, and they will either (1) have the processor reissue you a good check, or (2) contact ANOTHER processor and have the check issued from them.

Either case you can expect to wait a few weeks. I would give it 3.

Holy sh*t! I got my money.

I received the following today. I'll keep you all updated.

<table id="messageHeader"><tbody><tr><td class="rightAlign h1Title" width="75">From:</td> <td class="leftAlign">Withdrawals Dept</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="rightAlign h1Title">Date:</td> <td class="leftAlign">Today at 02:30PM EST </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="rightAlign h1Title">Subject:</td> <td class="leftAlign">Your withdrawal has been processed</td> </tr> </tbody></table> <!-- Message Header END --> <!-- Message Body START --> <table id="messageBody"><tbody><tr><td class="rightAlign h1Title" width="75">Message:</td> <td class="leftAlign"> We are pleased to inform you that your withdrawals requested on 10/9/2008 and 11/5/2008, have been combined into one transaction for a total of $1425 and this has now been processed. The funds are being sent to you via Courier to XXXXXXXXXXXXXX United States. Please allow up to 10 business days for delivery.

Once we have the tracking number for your withdrawal this will be added to the withdrawal history section in your account. If you click on this number it will bring you to the relevant website to track the withdrawal for yourself. </td></tr></tbody></table>

I received my payout (via FedEx) a couple of weeks ago and rushed to the bank to deposit it in the hopes of attenuating the chances of getting another bounced check. I've waited ten business days to report to you guys and I can finally say that I've been paid! The check cleared.
