Is it going to be the defense or the special teams next year as Green Bay’s excuse?

31 teams can have excuses, or they can analyze what went wrong, fix the problem, and try to get better.

So what would you have done differently? Just curious as to why the packers made this mistake
It probably depends on how creative the contract was done. If they don't lose any players over it , Adam's is back , no mistake that I see.

I would've traded him and tried to strengthen the rest of the roster/accept a short rebuild. Frankly, the Packers would have a shot to win this sorry division without Rodgers - and that's basically as far as they're gonna go anyway.

Rodgers is a generational talent but he is also a drama queen who has not gotten the job done in the postseason. What's gonna happen next offseason when this team flames out of the playoffs again and Rodgers is whining about not having enough help?

Unlike last offseason, the majority of Packers fans that I know were hoping that this would be the end. Not that they didnt' recognize Rodgers' talent, but that they are just tired of this crap.

For what it's worth: In the last decade, the highest percentage of salary cap allocated to a Super Bowl QB is about 12% (Tom Brady on the Bucs).

Packers have a good front office in general, but kind of strange they traded UP to get Jordan Love and then ink a deal like this

I would certainly trust the Packers front office more than a random voice on a gambling board. Early word has it that it was done so they can franchise Adams for now and work out a long term (probably 4 years) that would be cap beneficial down the road

If you believe Rodgers will bring you Super Bowl rings in the next couple of years, then sure it was an awesome deal.

History tells us though that it's hard to win a Super Bowl ring while allocating such a high % of cap to that position, and it also tells us that Rodgers has underperformed in the playoffs.

Good luck though. Packers fans deserve more playoff success.

It's a good point..

Packers won't admit they made a mistake drafting Love.. it's almost the same situation as the Pats with Jimmy G.. in the end , Brady got his way , Jimmy was shipped out for a high draft pick to help the team. Rodgers is stuck with a backup qb that will never see the field.. wasted pick.. Doubt they would get the same value back in a trade.

I would've re-signed Aaron Rodgers and kept being a perennial contender because that's the whole point

Love is sunk cost and Rodgers career was on the wane a bit then, shit happens

Eh lol

Some times you have to shake things up a little bit to ultimate succeed in the long term

I think the franchise could benefit from a shake up. Winning 13 games three straight seasons only to flame out in the playoffs ain’t fun

They could win this college division without him

I just think it is better than "option Love". With Rodgers, you know you will be competitve and almost assuredly win the North. Once in the playoffs anything can happen, but you need to get there to make it happen.

Best QB in the NFC easily, Packers should have 1 of the better OL's once Bahktiari and Jenkins get healthy, D should be 1 of the better D's once Jaire is healthy

No need to call 1-800-Gambler (saw the link at bottom of the screen here now lol) if you bet GB to win the NFC at +450, only problem is gonna be for your bookie

Fading the Packers in the postseason is the best money making opportunity every year in sports. Guaranteed cash

Lather, rinse, repeat
