Sorry, these are late ... Been busy at work
Kevin's Pick(s):
The Nationals used some late runs to beat the Rockies and cover the run line for us cashing another 5 Star pick. That was my 4th straight 5 STAR Winner, and I'm coming right back with another 5 Star this afternoon in Minnesota. Note that it is an early game.
5 UNIT = Cleveland Indians @ Minnesota Twins - INDIANS TO WIN (-125) *EARLY AFTERNOON GAME*
Listed Pitchers: Bauer vs SWARZAK
(Note: I'm risking 5.00 units to win 4.00 units)
The Indians won last night by a score of 8-2. They've now split the first two games with the Twins winning the first of the series 4-3 on Monday night. Cleveland has won 5 of their last 7 games , allowing 3 or fewer runs in those five wins. The Twins are just 1-4 over their last 5 games scoring just 12 runs over that span (2.4 runs per game). This afternoon's starter for Cleveland will be Trevor Bauer who is 4-4 on the year with a 3.89 ERA, .272 OBA and 1.40 WHIP over his 13 starts. Over his last three starts he has been great posting a 2-0 record (the team is 3-0) with a 2.29 ERA and striking out 21 vs just 6 walks given up. Minnesota will get a spot start from Anthony Swarzak as Kyle Gibson has been scratched and he has started a ball game since 2012. In relief this year Swarzak is 1-0 with a 4.34 ERA, .265 OBA and 1.36 WHIP. The last time he started in 2012 he made 5 starts that year and went 0-5 with a 8.10 ERA, .354 OBA and 1.80 WHIP. Take note that the Indians are 4-0 in their last 4 games vs a right handed starter, 6-2 in their last 8 road games, 8-3 in their last 11 divisional games, and 4-0 in Bauer's last 4 starts. The Twins are just 1-5 in their last 6 home games, 26-60 in their last 86 home games vs a team with a winning record, and 2-5 in their last 7 games vs a right handed starter. Dating back to when Swarzak was a starter they are just 3-11 in his last 14 home starts and 0-5 in his last 5 starts overall. Cleveland is 4-1 in these two teams last 5 meetings overall, and they are a solid 7-1 in their last 8 meetings in Minnesota. I really like how Bauer has been pitching lately, and with Cleveland playing pretty good baseball right now I like them at -125 as a 5 Star.
Kyle's Pick(s)
2 UNIT = Kansas City Royals @ Chicago White Sox - UNDER 7.5 RUNS (-115)
Listed Pitchers: Shields vs. Quintana
(Note: I'm risking 2.00 units to win 1.74 units)
Wainwright looked like he was still on break last night, getting hit hard in the 5th inning en route to an easy win for the Rays. Early afternoon action for us on Wednesday which I am going to try to take advantage of.
This will be another season in which the Indians, White Sox, and Royals play out for 2nd in the AL Central. The Tigers should ultimately run away with the crown again. Outside of Detroit there isn't any offense that can compete with them. James Shields and Jose Quintana have identical stats of late. Both pitched 19.2 innings their last three starts, and they both have the same ERA of 2.29. The UNDER was 5-1 in those games. The Royals have had a heck of a time trying to hit left-handed pitching, most notably recently where they are hitting only .194 against them the past ten games. Whereas the White Sox are hitting .321 against lefties, but just .239 against right-handers. Quintana has allowed less runners to reach base, 0.71 WHIP, but Shields hasn't been far behind with a 1.02. Quintana has given up only 5 runs in his last four starts. The UNDER has cashed 6-1 in the Royals last seven games. Likewise, the White Sox UNDER went 5-1 their last six. A 2 unit play for me on the UNDER 7.5 Wednesday afternoon in
