Boston Red Sox @ Cleveland Indians - INDIANS TO WIN (+101)
Clay Buchholz is on the mound for the Red Sox who have won 8 of their last 9 games. Buchholz has pitched well lately after a bit of a shaky start to the season. He is 4-3 on the year with a 3.42 ERA and 1.41 WHIP. Batters are hitting .261 against him over his 9 starts. Clay is 0-1 lifetime vs Cleveland with an ERA of 8.20 over his two starts.
Pitching for the Indians is Justin Masterson who is 5-2 on the season with a 2.52 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. Batters are hitting .249 against Masterson. He hasn't pitched a shutout to date, but over his 9 starts Just has 5 outings where he has allowed just 1 earned run. Although the Red Sox are hot right now, and they are 4-0 in Buchholz last 4 starts, we ahve to look at the Indians who have the MLB's best record at 29-15. Cleveland is an amazing 18-4 at home, compared to the Red Sox who are 9-11 on the road. Note the Indians are also 24-4 in their last 28 home games dating back to last season, and 8-2 in their last 10 games vs AL East opponents. With the best record in the bigs, an unbeleivable home record, and feeling good coming off an interleague sweep against one of the NL's better teams, you would have to think the Indians are going to be favored here.

The lifeline of the Tampa Bay offense from a year ago was Carl Crawford at the top with his .300+ average and blazing speed, and Carlos Pena sitting with cleanup duty with his HR and RBI prowess. Those ingredients are no longer in the mix and the Rays' consistency at the plate has felt their absence. The Rays come into this one scoring 4 or less in 30 games already. The Tigers' offense has been dead on arrival to the park in their last eight games, and has not topped the 3-run mark in any of them, averaging just 2 per contest. Soft offense and adequate pitching has led to just one of their last 13 at home vs. a team with a winning record making it over the total. The Rays' production is down vs. lefthanders, resulting in a 15-4-2 mark to the UNDER vs. a southpaw.
