This is probably not the right forum but I will share this experience here.I went to vegas this weekend and I had picked up RAS starting wed. They went on a 14/1 run but what I want to share is this.People often complain on here about the line moves after RAS sends out picks.I subscribe to Don Best line service and as soon as RAS texts me his releases the offshore lines move wihin 20 seconds. However I played totals at Three different strip casinos and I was way ahead of there postings. The only bad was the only totals on buster brakets were at Palms and Hilton.I hope this gives some of you insight.By the way I only play his totals and this is ino way an endorsement of RAS

WVU -2.5 over UCONN

West Virginia @ UCONN, 7PM ESPN

Pick: West Virginia -2.5

For most teams, we would be a little bit wary of laying chalk on the road in conference, but bettors should know by now that West Virginia is not "most" teams. The Mountaineers are the proud owners of six true road wins on the season, four more neutral court wins. They've played well pretty much everywhere, and we have a theory on why that is the case.

According to statistics provided by Ken Pomeroy, West Virginia is the best offensive rebounding team in the country. While shooting might take a night off when you're in a strange gym, hustle and effort are things that you can bring every single time out, regardless of the venue. The Mountaineers do that and they're effective because of their long bodies.

Ebanks, Butler, and Jones are the names to know, but the Mounties are deeper than just those three. They bring a solid rotation off of the bench with powerful rebounders in Wellington Smith and John Flowers. Overall, this is just a team that crashes the glass hard and cleans up their misses well.

This should be a huge problem for UCONN, as their single biggest weakness this season has been boxing out on defensive rebound chances. Pomeroy ranks them as the 245th best team in the country in terms of allowing offensive rebounds.

Overall, we have a chance here to capitlize on many things. The first is obviously the matchup deficiency with WVU and UCONN. The second is an issue of perception that was helped yesterday. The home team covered in a short-lined Big East game on Sunday, so that should be fresh in the minds of bettors. These are different squads, though, and West Virginia might just be the class of the league.

Though they might have just won two straight games, this is still a UCONN team that's lost 5 of its last 8 and 8 of its last 13. They've dropped 3 games already at home, and none of those have to teams as good as West Virginia.

All of these things, along with the fact that the public has jumped on the underdog in this game, combine to tell us that West Virginia is the play. Take the Mounties and give the 2.5 points.

We'll play it for 2 units.

PICK: WVU -2.5 for 2.2u to win 2u

Hawks/Jazz UNDER 197

For a number of different reasons I believe the value in this contest is on the "under":

The Hawks will have a tough task Monday night if they hope to end their 15-game losing streak at Utah, which can grab a share of the Northwest Division lead with a fifth consecutive win.

Atlanta (34-20) was on the opposite side of a big comeback Sunday, blowing a 17-point fourth-quarter advantage in a 108-104 loss at Golden State, and the Hawks hope they’re not headed in the wrong direction after dropping three of four.

“We just fell apart,” Hawks point guard Mike Bibby said. “We’re up 20 points. A team of our caliber shouldn’t lose that game. It happened, but we can’t let it happen too much.”

I expect this team to play with a concerted effort on the defensive end tonight.

It's important to note that Atlanta has in fact seen the total go "under" the posted number in 14 of 26 games this year when playing against a team with a winning record.

On the other side of the court: A 25-point second-half deficit couldn’t derail the short-handed Jazz, who beat Portland 93-89 in overtime Sunday for their 17th win in 19 games, putting an exclamation mark on a trip that included victories at Houston and New Orleans.

Even though Utah (36-19) shot below 40 percent from the field Sunday for the first time since a 91-89 loss at Memphis on Jan. 8, the Jazz have still hit 50.9 percent of their shots during the 17-2 stretch since that defeat, vaulting up the standings to third place in the Western Conference.

It's interesting to note though that Utah has seen the total go "under" the posted number in 17 of 29 games this season vs. good offensive teams that score 99 plus points per contest.

Bottom line: In fact, in five of these teams last six matchups against each other, regardless of location, the total has gone "under" the posted number; when taking all of the above into account, the sharp money in this one is indeed on the UNDER!

*8* UNDER.

ATLANTA HAWKS +5

BOTH teams come into tonights game in not the best "spots"--but I definitely believe that ATLANTA has and edge "spot" wise tonight--The Hawks are playing their 3rd game in 4 days today--and they blew a 18 pt late 3d Q lead to lose outright to the Warriors--in a game that was on ESPN--Tonight's game concludes the Hawks 4 game roadie--and they have lost the L/2 on the trip and now need tonights game to get a 2-2 split on the trip--I believe the meltdown AT Golden St last night--will work in their favor tonight--as they should come out fired up, and very motivated to atone for the MELTDOWN last night--UTAH is coming off a amazing 25 pt defecit to win AT PORTLAND last night & in OVERTIME--just a total meltdown by Portland and the Jazz lost AK 47 in that game & are already missing Okur--This is a VERY TOUGH SPOT for the Jazz tonight IMO--as not only last nights thriller at Portland-in which they had to use a TON of energy with the comeback win--but that was their last game of their 4 game road trip--TONIGHT's game is not only their 1st game back at home, off a week long, 4 game road trip--(always a tough spot for teams to play in)--but this is also Utah's 5th game in 7 days tonight--and they are shorthanded right now--missing both Okur & AK 47. Deron Williams is definitely banged up as well--as he played a extremely gritty game last night--but was clearly in some pain--I really look for the HAWKS to be the MORE motivated team tonight--& they are DEFINITELY the DEEPER team right now--and I think they can get this game outright tonight--as hard as it is to win AT UTAH--I think they have a legit shot to get that done tonight--IN THIS SPOT---Grab the +5 with ATLANTA tonight & look for the outright win.
