Crystal Ball

2 ** TULSA (-7) first half.

Crystal Ball took a shot on the chin last night as UTAH failed to cover for us after dominating across the board. When I last looked they had turned the ball over three times and just couldn't overcome those mistakes. They won easily, but failed to cover. This ain't horseshoes, this ain't hand grenades...........I'm paid to deliver winners, and I had a rare miss last night.
Let's get back to continuing one of the greatest runs in the industry(12-3) with an easy victory in the BIG EASY. My wife went to Tulane, so this is hard for me to say, but they have NO chance at all of winning this game. Look for the Golden Hurricane to get out quick and not look back.
The GREEN WAVE, while a personal favorite of mine, continues to suffer on the recruiting front due to Katrina and has failed to commit the necessary dollars to the program. Their mistake? They continue to value education over athletics.
Remember, I don't say it unless I play it.
Crystal Ball is out!

2** Tulsa -13 1/2 -110 for Game

I like Tulsa a lot so I'm on it before it hits 14. Tulsa finished last year with a 11-3 record. They finished the season with the drumming of Ball State 45-13 in a bowl game. I realize they have lost their Offensive Cordinator Gus Malzahn who I have personally known a long time, (yep, he's an Arkansas boy) and by the way, I will have a BIG play on Saturday with Auburn, that’s where Gus is now commanding his offence. Gus is a one in a kind. He is actually the one who invented the "Wild Cat" formation which was once used when he was a High School Coach and is now used in the NFL) Enough about Gus, he's no longer there, but while at Tulsa he was under head coach Todd Graham. Graham is also an offensive guru and loves to mix it up. Tulsa did loose their QB and Graham has kept it quite who he will give the nod to. Most think it will be Kinne, the sophomore transfer from Texas.

They return 3 very good receivers including Damarius Johnson who led conf USA with 2475 all purpose yards for 176.8 per game. He also had 1382 yards returning kicks.

Tulane only had 2 wins last season and I don’t see this season getting much better. One of their major problems last year was Defense. Here are a few of their last few match-ups:

11/22/08 TULNE 7 - TULSA 56 TULSA

11/03/07 TULSA 49 - TULNE 25 TULSA

11/24/06 TULNE 3 - TULSA 38 TULSA

11/19/05 TULSA 38 - TULNE 14 TULSA

I see no reason why Tulsa wont cover the spread this year.

I listened to this radio show and football jesus wouldn't give out a free pick in football. The DJ was like "if I have $50 to bet on a football game this weekend, which team should I take"...Jesus side stepped the question and said he really likes the Detroit Tigers tonight and then they started to talk about the Dodgers (since it's an LA radio show)....Then FBJ tweeted this so I don't know what gives:

@TDubbs76 if you missed the radio show this morning the free pik was on the Arizona wildcats -13, that i bet at MGM

Sid Paradise - 9/4

Friday September 4th
Tulsa vs. Tulane +14.5 (-115) (800pm et)
Tulsa was one of the highest scoring teams in the country last year and you can expect to see more of the same this year. These teams have played 4 years in a row now and 3 of 4 have gone under the number. The one that didn't was a Tulane home game. I expect Tulane to hang a few points on Tulsa tonight and quite possibly pull the upset but I also could see a scenario in which Tulsa covers the number by themselves. Either way, people are killing the under and we aren't going to buy it.
Pick- OVER 62 (-105) 5* play

Dallas Cowboys at Minnesota Vikings

Play: Dallas Cowboys

When the Cowboys conclude the 2009 NFL pre-season when they tackle and Vikings at the Metrodome in Minneapolis Friday night they will do so with the support of a Super System from our powerful database. That's because road teams in pre-season play that are not laying points are 15-0 ATS since 1983 if they lost straight-up at home by 7 or more points as a favorite of 3 or more points in their last game when facing an opponent off a straight-up road win. With Dallas 6-1-1 SU and 6-2 ATS in Game Fours and Minnesota just 3-7 ATS in 2nd home games of the pre-season off a win versus and opponent off a loss, we'll grab the points with the Cowboys ere this evening.

"Mr Chalk" had Np for Thursday.

For Friday "Mr Chalk" is coming out with chalk a blazzin the Dodgers -$260/Padres.

I see this line at -$300 Greek and -$310 Pinn now.So this selection is definitely a "Pure Chalk" play.

"Mr Chalk" is 2-1 +$30 for the week and 75-54 -$1050 for the MLB season.

Complimentary MLB Premium Play for Friday (9/4)

Philadelphia Under (7') [Lee/Rodriguez] for 2 Units **

Phillies/Astros 8:05: Both of these teams are struggling to drive in runs now yet pitching has been solid. The Phillies are batting a sluggish .232 over their last 9 games while going 2-7 O/U in the process. The Astros just got off a road trip in which they batted an anemic .212 through 9 games. And both teams are having trouble hitting lefties now; as a matter of fact, over the last 10 games vs lefties, the Phillies have batted just .221 while the Astros batted just .237. We'll look for these teams to delay finding their stroke taking on pitchers who are in good form. Lee (1.80 ERA) had his first sluggish game for the Phillies in his last start, and Rodriguez is finding his mark with a 2.54 ERA since June 21. The Astros are 5-22-1 in their last 28 following an extended road trip while the Phillies are 1-7 O/U in game 1 of a series. "Under" the call.

Detroit Tigers vs. Tampa Bay Rays

Tampa Bay Rays-110

While Justin Verlander has to be respected, neither he nor his Tigers teammates have earned enough respect to be even-up vs. the Rays at home. The Rays are king of the home field as they are 70-30 in their last 100 here against a team with a losing road record. While the Tigers have been great at home, they have been just 27-39 on the road, and have won just six of their last 21 on the highway. The Rays have even ramped-it-up higher at home against a right-hand starter as they are now 73-26 in their last 99 here against a righty. When they wheel out Niemann to start at home, they have won their last seven as a home chalk and 12 of his last 15 as a favorite overall. The Tigers are just 5-16 in their last 21 on field turf, and it will take more than Verlander to win this one. I'm going with the Rays here.

1) Texas Rangers vs Baltimore Orioles

Pick: Texas (3 units ML & 2 units RL)

This is a golden opportunity to cash in on the Rangers since they have a substantial advantage on the mound. Scott Feldman (14-4, 3.72) faces Chris Tillman (1-2, 4.24). Feldman has been sensational on the road this season going 10-1 with a 2.92 ERA. Lately he has stoned the opposition allowing only 1 earned run in 18 2/3 innings in his last 3 road starts. Additionally, Baltimore is 2-8 in their last 8 home starts and 1-5 in Tillman's last 6 starts.

Lay 3 units on Texas ML and 2 units RL.

2) Florida Marlins vs Washington Nationals

Pick: Florida (3 units ML & 2 units RL)

The Marlins somehow managed to get swept in their last meeting in Washington. Fortunately, the Nationals are as cold as ice winning only 3 of their last 16 contests overall. Expect the Marlins to look for revenge and win this one in dominant fashion.

Lay 3 units on Florida ML and 2 units RL.

3) L.A. Angels vs K.C. Royals

Pick: L.A. -1.5 (3 units)
