As you go through life eventually you will realise that the world is run by wankers

Even the Bible missed that one... maybe because they wrote it

Once you realise that wankers run the world then it really starts to make more sense.

Things are looking great from the EU end

EU Trade Commissioner: No trade talks until full Brexit

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-36678222

But not so good at the UK end, May was a "remain" and is a blind obedience to orders bureaucrat, totally useless for what lies ahead
Gove and Fox are the only "proper" leave candidates in a 5 horse race
Ken Clarke is a total EU supporter, so Gove looks like our best hope

Tory leadership: Ken Clarke urges Michael Gove to quit

Global markets pretty much back to where they were pre brexit (we'll vote we'll see what actually happens)...Other than currency stuff.. Gold/silver up..

What now? as we continue to chop sideways for two years now.. Every time some event or data for weakness last few years.. Western central bankers promise to sprinkle everything with fairy dust and it comes roaring back... Regardless of insane equity valuations continuing to move even further into overvalued territory

4+ bagger so far for those lucky enough to buy at the bottom..

should keep plowing forward so long as gold/silver does their production will really be ramping up in coming years great management (rarity in gold miner world)

Tesla car crashes on autopilot and kills some dude, that is rough

Going to set them back a bit. Was surprised the market gave that news the finger. Their software likely isn't as good as the other companies and any head start they enjoyed is over.

Nah just problem with autonomous in general.. Never gonna be perfect and will be situations it fails.. Like a white truck with a bright background pulling out in front of a car going at high speeds.. Didn't detect..

driver had had way too much trust in it too at this early stage of development ... Was reportedly watching movie when it happened..

That said autonomous failure/error rates will be much lower than humans as a whole.. Just the issue of humans need to control/accept their own fate.. Harder to stomach when a machine kills somebody.. Than when that somebody does something stupid to kill themselves...

1.3 million killed.. 20-50 million permanently injured/disabled per year globally...

It wasn't just a problem with autonomous in general though. It was a problem with a Tesla car being on autopilot, you can't just say that is just part of the risk of autonomous.

Their camera wasn't good enough to locate a white truck? How is it going to accurately locate pedestrians 100% of the time? It should be able to spot a truck like that from like a thousand feet away. I doubt the cars that the other companies put on the road would have that issue since they're not nearly as aggressive in pushing the envelope as Tesla.

Will be interesting to see the NHTSA reaction to this. We'll see.
