Muschamp is actually making closer to $5 million, thanks to the ridiculous contract Jeremy Foley signed him to.

Here's Will Muschamp's new home in South Carolina:

198 Setting Sun Lane:

I heard he sent a house warming invitation to Jeremy Foley.

Unbelievable. The guy is going to crash South Carolina's program so bad it'll be 10 years before they recover. And this jackass will be living in that house!

Alabama

The Crimson Tide is expected to have to have nine former players participating in the 2016 NFL draft Combine, but the biggest surprise
might be who wasn't invited. Former Bama players RB Kenyan Drake, RB Derrick Henry, OL Dominick Jackson, CB Cyrus Jones, C Ryan Kelly, LB D.J. Pettway, LB Reggie Ragland, DL Jarran Reed and DL A'Shawn Robinson are among more than 300 draft-eligible players expected to participate in the annual NFL scouting combine February 23-29 in Indianapolis. The nine players invited is the most among the SEC's 14 schools.

Among the former Alabama seniors not invited are quarterback Jake Coker, outside linebackers Denzel Devall and Dillon Lee, safety Geno Smith and receiver Richard Mullaney.

Heisman Trophy winning tailback Derrick Henry is rated the No. 2 overall running back in the class, according to NFL.com's Mike Mayock, who also rates Kelly as the draft class' top center, Ragland as the No. 3 linebacker, Reed and Robinson as the fourth and fifth rated defensive tackles, and Jones as the No. 5 cornerback in the class.

if you ever want to get a tax increase in your southern state just threaten the football program :)

Louisiana’s budget crisis has the state’s attention.
It may have also grabbed that of the nation now, too.
In a TV address Thursday night, Gov. John Bel Edwards said that the ongoing budget crisis involving TOPS recipients may cost them their scholarships and LSU its football season.
“If you are a student attending one of these universities, it means that you will receive a grade of incomplete, many students will not be able to graduate and student athletes across the state at those schools will be ineligible to play next semester,” Edwards said.
“That means you can say farewell to college football next fall.”
TOPS, the Taylor Opportunity Program for Students, is a statewide college scholarship program that covers tuition for in-state students that meet certain academic benchmarks.
LSU has more TOPS-eligible students than any other college in Louisiana with about 53 percent of the students using the program, including a number of student-athletes.
The financial issues plaguing Louisiana are an estimated $2 billion and are considered the worst more than three decades.
Edwards has proposed a number of potential solutions.
However, with no imminent fix in sight, LSU may have an even more difficult path to chase than the coveted national championship in 2016.

Alabama - Graduate Transfer

Wide receiver Gehrig Dieter announced on Saturday that he would pass up his final season at
Bowling Green to play for Alabama. The 6-3, 210 pound Dieter caught 94 passes for 1,033 yards
last season for the Falcons. He caught 7 passes for 133 yards in the season opener against Tennessee.
He had a 13 catch day against Toledo among his 94 receptions. Dieter will join All-American Calvin
Ridley (89 catches, 1,045 yards), ArDarius Stewart (63, 706), O.J. Howard (38, 602) and a stable
of young talented receivers. With the speed of both Ridley and Dieter on the outside, Bama just needs
to decide on a quarterback to get them the ball. Great addition for Alabama!

Auburn: Arizona State running backs coach Kodi Burns will join the Auburn staff as wide receivers coach, according to Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans. Burns, a former Auburn receiver, was also an AU graduate assistant in 2013. He joined the ASU staff this offseason after one season at Middle Tennessee State. Keep track of open FBS assistant jobs here.

Alabama:
Former UCF offensive coordinator / running backs coach Brent Key will join the Alabama staff as offensive line coach, according to Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans. Current offensive line coach Mario Cristobal is expected to move to tight ends / tackles coach. Key coached at UCF from 2005-15.

LSU: Auburn co-offensive coordinator / wide receivers coach Dameyune Craig has joined the LSU staff as wide receivers coach. Craig was a former Auburn player and had been on the Auburn staff since 2013. He was a GA at LSU in 2004. Other stops in his career include Florida State, South Alabama, the Miami Dolphins and more.

Georgia: The school owes $6.2 million in buyout to Mark Richt and the previous staff, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Richt will receive $4 million. The remaining $2.2 million will go to Brian Schottenheimer ($1.2 million), Jeremy Pruitt ($600,000), John Lilly ($162,500), Rob Sale ($112,500), Mark Hocke ($105,000) and Mike Ekeler ($42,000). Lilly’s and Hocke’s payments could still be prorated by salary at other jobs.

Hugh Freeze - Ole Miss

Since some posters here at theRX have ole Hugh going before a firing squad in the not so distance
future...thought it would be nice to take a look at his coaching accomplishments while he still living.
Freeze spent 13 years at Briarcrest Christian High School in Memphis, Tennessee where he had a
record of 99-23 and several state championships. He took over Lambert College in 2008 for two years
and posted 8-4 and 12-1 records. During 2010 he moved to Arkansas State as offensive coordinator
and became head coach during 2011 posting a 10-2 record. Since 2012 he has been the head Reb at
Ole Miss. Seasons of 7-6, 8-5, 9-4 and 10-3 for an Ole Miss record of 34-18 record. His overall record
as a head coach in high school and college is 163-48.

leaves us with one too many coaches. word is that either bobby williams will retire or billy napier will move on. napier was heavily courted by kirby at uga but i don't think he has any slots left. smu is a possible landing spot....

something should come down today

I'm surprised Cristobal didn't land a head coaching gig this off-season. I didn't realize Bama was over the 9 assistants. Bobby Williams has been around quite a while. I'm sure he's put enough money away to live comfortably.

i expected Cristobal to get the UCF gig but somehow it went to Frost. He talked to Miami but once Richt was available that was a no-brainer....

one of them has to go but pretty remarkable how Saban can get these former HC and OC/DC to take lesser gigs at Bama. Happened with Mel Tucker, Cristobal, Steele, Williams, Napier, and now Key. However this shakes out will be a staff full of former HC, OC, DC

pruitt DC = was DC at uga and fsu
kiffin OC = was HC tenn/usc/oak
cristobal OL/TE = was HC fiu
Key OL = was OC ucf
williams ST = was HC mich st
napier WR = was OC at clemson
Burns RB = was OC/asstHC at Tulane

my guess is that Napier is the one leaving. he really wanted the uga OC gig but they hired the dude from Pitt. probably heading out for an OC job somewhere. Williams retirement is the other option because he would never leave saban. their wives are besties. Third option would be keep staff as-is but send Williams to an off-field role but my $$ is on Napier getting an OC job. hope not since he's a great coach and recruiter but the problem with hiring guys for "lesser" jobs is that they will want to resume their career path at some point

I just heard on a local sports radio show that Cristobal will remain on staff but his duties
will be reassigned to tight ends and tackles. Cristobal makes $515,000 a year and is
signed through 2017.

Haven't heard anything on Bobby Williams.

This game of "musical chairs" in the coaching world of college football today is mind-boggling. I go back to the days when head-coaches were hired with the
assumption that they would be at the University for the long-haul.....At least for the duration of the contract. Now it's [win] or it's the highway. I guess the big-money contracts are the only protection they have for financial security. College football (i.e. Big Business).

some real strange moves out there. craig, ex-barner qb, pulls in maybe #1 WR class in nation and bolts a week later to an SEC rival? people just don't last long reporting to that psycho on the plains yet they pull top 10 recruiting classes every year...

Great portrait/message Tide.....Where in hell did you ever get a picture like that; It is worth 10,000 words. That grey ship in the back-ground looks like a World War ll Merchant ship going under after being hit by a torpedo.....

You as well Clover. You've been around the "College Football Stadium" more than a few times and you know what the "smell" inside the locker room is really all about. I guess it is our love of the game (and good people) that brings complete strangers together to make an effort to separate the "Wheat from the Chafe".
