Fuck Mark Richt telling the quarterbacks he recruited they are not good enough to compete in the SEC. Friends, I'm telling you this kind of crap has a negative effect on a football team. Stupid, greedy, win at all cost crap.

Did you here the second team QB going into spring training at Florida State is transferring. Wonder why?

I wish three of the quarterbacks at Georgia would bail....tickle my ass off.

I agree. It's bad for team chemistry. If this kid wins the job it won't be a good thing. At least 1 of those younger QBs likely transfers, if not more.

At least the QB FSU got has a proven/winning track record. I thought the McGuire kid was just fine (he passed for 300 yards vs. Clemson in his only start last year). Not sure what Fisher was thinking there.

Strange NFL scouts view Cam Robinson as a first round draft choice and he's only forth best at LT in the SEC. The only weak side tackle I would consider better than Robinson is Ole Miss' Laremy Tunsil who will be a first round draft choice next draft.

The SEC is blessed with some good left tackles including Tunsil, Robinson, Skipper (Ark), Theus (Ga) and Kerbyson (Tn).

This would be my first team All-SEC offensive line by position, Robinson would be on my second team.

RT: Jerald Hawkins (Jr., 6-6, 310) LSU
RG: Denver Kirkland (Jr., 6-5, 337) Arkansas and Greg Pyke (Jr., 6-6, 326) Georgia TIE
C: Ryan Kelley (Sr., 6-5, 300) Alabama
LG: Vandal Alexander (Sr., 6-6, 320) LSU
TE: Evan Engram (Jr., 6-3, 228) Ole Miss

One man's opinion...I'm sure there's plenty of room for valid differences.

Clover. What's up with Saban and all of his crying about the rules? First he tries to slow the game down and when he loses that argument he complains about the new SEC transfer rules. Does he have some kind of problem? He had better keep his mind on coaching and drop his political ambitions (or whatever he is doing) or he is looking at 3 losses this season.

Oh, I don't know. Saban bitches and moans like most successful coaches.

Maybe he gets bored during the off season or maybe he's worried about his wife trying to spend
$596,682 a month in a small Alabama town like Tuscaloosa.

I know one thing...he and the Bama staff are motivated for this season!

Like Saban or hate him, agree with him or not, it's the squeaky wheels that are the ones getting heard. Although I haven't agreed with him on almost every subject he's brought up, I can't blame him for wanting to get an advantage. That's what college football is all about...

That's a solid 1st team OL. I'm still pissed that Tunsil got away from Muschamp (he went to HS right down the road in Lake City, FL).

If any of UF's OL's make the All-SEC teams this year (even 4th team) it will be a pleasant surprise. The best OL they had, Rod Johnson, was essentially ruled out/career over. He's since said he's going to seek a 2nd opinion and may be back. He has All-SEC potential. Started 3 games last year, including the Bama game, as a true freshman.

Totally agree. Saban has everyone's ear when he says something...especially when he's complaining. Same goes for Meyer.

I play golf just down the street from that softball stadium at Lincoln Park. It's also right next to the Remington Park race track. It's a great venue for the Women's World Series. I hope they keep it there for years to come...

Yeah, that was neat to watch. Woman's softball actually isn't bad during the tournament's. SEC softball has come a long way. They have 5+ teams that are contenders for the conference every year and usually get 2-3 teams in the World Series.

I was happy to see our men's team beat FSU. Hell, I'd root for the Russian Chess Team vs. FSU!

GS, they get some good crowds there for the ladies softball. Seems like a great venue and should have a nice tradition similar to the men's side.

What the hell is Miss State doing here? Makes no sense, for the fans or anybody involved!

[h=1]Miss. St. schedules series with UMass, including a game up north[/h]

For those looking for an SEC to travel north of the Mason-Dixon line, here ya go, even as it will come against a program not even remotely considered elite.

Mississippi State and UMass have reached an agreement on a three-game future series. Two of the games, in 2017 and 2020, will be played in Starkville. The first game of the series, in 2016, will be played at Gillette Stadium, the Foxborough, Mass., home of the NFL’s New England Patriots.

The first game of the set will serve as as the first-ever meeting between the two football programs. The path was paved for that game as well as the series after Tulane last month cancelled its contract for a 2016 contest against MSU and ultimately announced future games with Oklahoma.

Interestingly, UMass had announced earlier this month a game against Tulane in 2016.

That new 2016 game against the Minutemen will also mark the Bulldogs’ first football trip outside of the South or the state of Texas since a 2002 game in Eugene against the Oregon Ducks. They also played BYU in Provo in 2000.

MSU hasn’t played in the Northeast since taking on Syracuse at the Carrier Dome in 1986.

UMass, meanwhile, has hosted one other SEC school in its history: Vanderbilt, in 2013. That game was also played at Gillette Stadium. In addition to MSU, UMass also has a 2016 game scheduled against Florida in Gainesville.

Huge news out of Gainesville, UF lands a 1AA 2-time All-American OT transfer:

http://www.gatorsports.com/article/20150609/ARTICLES/150609666?tc=cr

Florida gets offensive line help from FCS ranks

In its search for offensive line help, Florida has uncovered a very big player from a small school.

Mason Halter, a 6-foot-8, 300-pound two-time FCS All-American left tackle from Fordham, announced on his Instagram account Tuesday that he's transferring to Florida, where he will be eligible immediately as a graduate transfer.

"On the 23rd of June I'll be heading down to the University of Florida to start my masters degree and fulfill my last year of eligibility playing as a Gator!" Halter wrote on Instagram. "Can't thank the Fordham coaching staff and all my teammates over the year for molding me into the player I am today! Can't wait to get down to Florida and start grinding with the team #GoGators."

A three-year starter at Fordham, Halter will enroll at UF for the Summer B semester and will start competing for possible playing time on a thin offensive line when preseason camp opens in August.

UF's 2015/16 budget set at $113 million, up $9.3 million from this year:

http://www.gatorsports.com/article/20150609/ARTICLES/150609660?tc=cr

The board overseeing the University of Florida’s athletic program Tuesday approved a $113 million budget for the next year, a $9.3 million increase over the current year that includes money to help improve the quality of life for student athletes and build more sports facilities.

Helping to pay for the budget increase is an $8 million rise in SEC Network revenue to be used on capital improvement projects, and $1.7 million in bowl payouts offset by a decrease in booster contributions. The University Athletic Association also saw small gains in multimedia rights and golf course revenue.

Those gains were offset by a $523,000 net loss in licensing revenue, a $103,000 loss in facility rental, a $79,000 loss in basketball game revenue and a $93,000 loss in football game revenue.

“Football revenue continues to be a challenge,” UF Athletic Director Jeremy Foley told the finance committee prior to the full University Athletic Association Board of Directors meeting. “I think it is reflective of where our program is today. It is not a success the Gator Nation is used to.”

But he said he is confident that will change with the changes in coaching made at the beginning of the year, when WIll Muschamp was replaced with Jim McElwain. UF has to pay the salary costs of departing staff as well as the transitional costs for incoming staff, Foley said.

These transitions reflect more than the cost of doing business, Foley said. “But it is what it is,” he said. “It is a burden on those making the decisions. Nobody likes it.”

It is a not significant amount compared to what corporations pay for their mistakes, UAA board member Rob Gidel said.

The budget includes a $3.5 million increase in programs to enhance the student athlete experience, including $1 million in scholarships to cover the cost of attending UF and $444,000 for meals. Both changes were made possible by NCAA bylaws that take effect Aug. 1.

“A number of items significantly impact student athletes’ cost of attendance and increased nutritional opportunities, Foley said. “We will continue to do as the rules allow and enhance the UAA experience for students.”

The budget also includes $3.3 million in capital improvements. The UAA has more than $100 million in ongoing capital projects, including the expansion of Farrior Hall to house the Otis Hawkins Center for Academic and Personal Excellence.

The board approved a $2 million increase to expand the scope of the indoor football practice field currently under construction to include a drill area, bringing the total to $17 million. Foley said he has a strong commitment from a reliable donor to cover the cost increase.

“We are fortunate to have that gift to cover it,” he said.

The board also reauthorized a $14.3 million construction bond, bringing the UAA’s total debt load to $95.63 million. That is still under the unofficial cap of $100 million and well below the bond debt that other SEC programs carry, Foley said.

“There are schools with $200 million to $300 million debt. I don’t know how they sleep at night,” Foley said.

Board member Charlie Roberts said he was optimistic about the UAA’s finances, particularly its low debt load. “We need to stay in a position where we can’t box ourselves into a debt situation,” he said.

In other business:

-- The board approved the finalized budget for the 2015 Birmingham Bowl. Expenses were higher than budgeted by about $49,000 but still yielded a $54,605 return to the UAA.

--The board approved a $1.038 million contribution to help renovate the 25-year-old Keys Dorm Complex.

UGA just lost one of their freshman QBs.....in part to Mark Richt accepting a graduate transfer into the fold. I'm waiting for FSU and Jimbo to lose one for taking Golsen.

http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/ge...-redshirt-freshman-qb-jacob-park-leaves-team/

Georgia redshirt freshman quarterback Jacob Park, a former 2013 ‘Mr. Football’ from South Carolina who was the third player in the quarterback battle this spring, has left the team, according to 247Sports.

Park was No. 3 on the depth chart exiting spring behind Brice Ramsey and Faton Bauta. He would likely slide to No. 4 following the Bulldogs’ acquisition of Virginia transfer Greyson Lambert last week.

The former four-star prospect out of Goose Creek, S.C. has serious arm strength, but saw limited reps during the spring. He was one of former offensive coordinator Mike Bobo’s recruits.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to CSU....or possibly South Carolina, if he wants to stay closer to home. CSU would be a good fit. They'd love to land a 4-star QB.
