McCain was aware of Bristol Palin’s pregnancy before he chose her mother for his running mate, the aide said.
“Senator McCain knew this and felt in no way did it disqualify her from being vice president,” said the aide. “Families have difficulties sometimes and lucky for her she has a supportive family.”

Obama actually spent an extended period of time interning at Sidley and Austin Brown and Wood which is one of the largest law firms in the world.
He was actually offered a job when his internship was complete but said he had aspirations to be in the government and possibly run for President. Pretty impressive stuff if you ask me. How do I know this?
Well my father works for Sidley and Austin, and has been working there for 35 years. I will soon start my internship and from what I hear it's far more than just a days work. So there's proof that he's worked for at least a decent chunk of time.
Having a pregnant daughter in and of itself isnt a big deal. Having your daughter get pregnant at 17 because you dont believe in contraceptives and think teaching abstinence works is bad parenting. Forcing your daughter to marry her boy friend at the age of 17 just because she got knocked up is pretty bad too. Agreeing to become VP candidate knowing full well your daughter will become media fodder, questionable. IMO, it shouldnt be terribly relevant but as an unknown this isnt the first impression you want.
We don't condone the actions of her unwed, pregnant underage daughter, we support Sarah Palin because of the judges she will eventually appoint to the Supreme Court.
