Problem here is that the kind of constituencies someone like Palin was supposed to appeal to include the social conservatives and religious right, who preach things like abstinence, family values, no sex before marriage, etc. They'll look at a female VP candidate with an unwed, pregnant, teenage daughter in addition to the other children plus an already existing newborn baby and think this woman should probably focus on her personal life rather than on a position that's clearly over her head.
