Bourn, is ex-military if I recall correctly. I am going to wager heavily in favor of Bourn on this one. Similar to how you told us Sterlings lawyers would advise him to drop the case, right?

Yea, because those are so similar. The fact you guys are arguing it's hard to kill yourself is ridiculous. Much harder not to kill yourself. Cowards way out and very selfish.

His first appearance on Happy Days. And back then, if you could upstage the Fonz, that took talent:

Stop it!

Way to take an impossible situation someone is in and label them a coward.

You are dickhead.....that's a FACT!

Some people suffer a lot more than others in this life. Many times, it has nothing to do with choices made, and is instead just a tough hand that was dealt. Suicide is sad, but I wouldn't refer to it as selfish. That is very offensive and judgmental. It hurts a lot of people, but none more than the person that was so desperate that they felt like the only way out was to take their own life.

Were the people that jumped off the top of the World Trade Center selfish? No, they were just desperate.

There obviously isn't a blanket statement to cover every self-inflicted death through time...but I'm saying you are typically in the situation you are in, good or bad, because of choices you make or choices your family made on your behalf and things genetically instilled or not instilled. Remember that blessings flow for 1000s of generations and iniquities go to the 3rd and 4th.
So suicide isn't selfish...then it must be unselfish? I can't buy that.
It's one of the two, because everything you do has an affect on the others around you.

You can't possibly compare people jumping off the world trade center while they were burning alive to a successful multi millionaire choking himself to death at his home

Williams went to visit Christopher Reeve (Superman) after his accident which paralyzed him dressed up as a Russian doctor there to give a colonoscopy.

Reeve said it was the first time he laughed after the accident.

Another aspect that makes it selfish.

Imagine how much life insurance he had for his family that they will now never get because he voided the contract by killing himself

I highly doubt it would have mattered.. If they have 200 million or 250 million (whatever it is life insurance you speak of)... are they really that much more well off?

If anything the family is more ruined mentally over the suicide because the why and the what could I have done will never go answered and be in their minds forever.. that is way worse than any monetary loss.

It astounds me that people continue to suggest we should legalize drugs.

Rest in Peace.
I think there are certain drugs out there that shouldn't be legalized. But recent studies have actually shown that "chemical enchancements" actually prevent or slow deterioration of mental health, especially hallucinogens. Exactly the opposite of what most people assume.

IMO no selfishness in taking your own life. The person who does it is convinced they are doing themselves and people around them a favor.

People are always concerned about the loved ones they leave behind and totally dismiss the FACT that these people are suffering WAAAAY worse then their husbands/wives/children/siblings.

Yeah it sucks for those people but it sucks worse for the person who isn't here anymore. Life goes on for everybody else.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you have no idea what type of life insurance Williams had, or generally speaking whether or not suicide voids any life insurance policy.

This is pretty darn sad if true

As the world mourns the shocking loss of Robin Williams, details continue to emerge about the comedy icon’s recent struggles with money and addiction.

“All he could talk about were serious money troubles,” a family friend who recently spoke with Williams told Radar Online. “There were clearly other issues going on and Robin sounded distant during the telephone conversation.”

Williams opened up about his money problems in aParade magazine interview last year in which he mentioned how hard it was to deal with divorce.

“Divorce is expensive,” Williams said. “It’s ripping your heart through your wallet.
...

After the cancellation of his CBS show “The Crazy Ones” in May, the family friend told Radar that Williams was having an extremely difficult time coping with the show being axed.
“Robin slipped into a deep depression,” the friend said. “He felt embarrassed and humiliated that the show had been a failure.”
