You guys know this time of year I study the numbers and I play them unles there is some other variable involved other than stats. UC with a frosh QB and an 82 ranked D, 124 in Turnover Margin, 119 in Penalties, 88 Scoring Defense and #92 Rushing Defense. SD St #20 in Time of Possession, #1 in Turnover Margin, #5 in Total Defense #10 in Scoring Defense, #7 Rushing D, #13 Passing D, #6 Kickoff Returns and #14 Rushing Offense. When you see things like that, win or lose you don't hesitate, you just play it.

A few angles on Game 1 tomorrow using 4.5 and 44:
-Giving 4.5 points has not been an issue in any of Marshall's wins
-Getting 4.5 points only factored in 1 UCONN loss to Missouri
-UCONN's Win's against FBS Teams other than Houston were a combined 10-38
-Keep in mind that Greg Ward Jr was injured prior to the UCONN game, although he did try to come in late to save the day
-Marshall only played 3 teams all season with Defense in the top 52. All 3 of those games in regulation were 44 points or less. UCONN is 34
-Marshall Strength of Schedule 96, UCONN 83
-With Strength of Schedule in mind, one has to have concern with a Marshall 64th ranked Offense, only facing 3 Top 52 Defenses. Likewise, Marshall Defense barely hits the Top 50 at 47, although only playing 3 Top 50 Offenses (all 3 were actually in the Top 30)

Guys once again I'm going to use common sense on a play and hopefully it cashes for me. 1st I know that since Golden got canned that Scott has done a decent job of keeping everyone together. But the season is over and based on coaching comments, no one really knows whether they will be offered a job with Richt. The staff has to be looking ahead, and with two starters on the Miami Defense already sent home for violations or academics, it's another clear sign of looking ahead. Miami had some very tight wins against decent Offenses like Nebraska and Duke, with a tight loss to rival FSU, but also had some clear blowouts to UNC and Clemson. Washington St was clearly in every game this year other than the last one due to turnovers and they will learn from that and use that last game as motivation. This team was a shocker and believes. And the weather forecast also fits this team perfectly, cold and wet, like Pulllman, WA and Russia. One team is HAPPY to be there......the other is simply ready for the next Chapter under a new Coach.
