I always respect your posts but just giving you a little info on the Minnesota team this year, we lost many key people to injuries this year on both sides of the ball. We are finally healthy on both sides of the ball so you will see a different team. I agree our offense played bad at the beginning of the season but played a lot better as of late. Our defense was solid this year until we lost both D Tackles and had to play a smaller front line. That does not bold well in the B10, and we got ran over. I expect Minny to come out and play hard and dominate on both sides of the ball.

Thanks for the note. I took the injuries into consideration, so it really doesn't change my mind. They are definitely more healthy than in a long time. Defense is the Minnesota strength. I do think, however that a case can be made for the CMU Defense as well. And I am a Cooper Rush fan. The overall better emotions of this game favor CMU, and in Bowls I'm about motivation. I think both games today will be entertaining and very competitive. Good Luck!

I agree both games will be competitive from start till the end. I have to say I am not a Leidner fan as he isn't a true QB. But if they can control the ball by keeping to a game plan the uses his strengths (Running) we could be in for a Defensive battle. Good luck to you as well!

For fun, I will Parlay all 3 Plays for .5 to win 3.05 units. I will not put W/L in Record but I will Track the Money. Lines on the Parlay are a little different:

Denver -3.5
Under 53 Navy
CMU +4.5

Navy has only gone over that total 2 out of the past 8 bowls

(Pitt has gone over that total 3 times in that same period)

Under 53 Navy for 3 Units

Navy has only given up more than 21 points only twice this season, and the teams that cause their Defense problems throw the ball really well. Pittsburgh at 95 in Passing Offense does not fit that bill. Both teams are good at time possession, at 16 and 25 respectively. Navy played 6 Top 60 Defenses and the Under was 4-2 and in those games the ones that went Over were very good Passing Teams. Obviously Navy is very good at running the ball and Pittsburgh is #21 in Rushing Defense and faced 5 Top 50 Rushing Offenses. Likewise, Pitt had issues against teams that threw the ball well such as Miami, Louisville, North Carolina and Notre Dame. In fact 3 of their 4 losses came from those teams, and in the W they gave up 34 points, outscoring Louisville. I'm seeing a strength against strength which will hopefully consume some clock.

I'm with you on this UNDER 53 totals play in the Pittsburgh-Navy game, Red! I absolutely LOVE your analysis. It's exceptional IMO!
Let's get this one done! Best of luck! :toast:

Under 56 Colorado St-Nevada for 4 Units -120

You would think this game would be a nothing blah game. But emotions are high. CSU coming off their incredible season with J Mac at the helm follow it up with a mediocre season and their DC bolts for Georgia Southern. They've sold 1400 tickets to this game. Despite being the better team, they better buckle their chin strap. Nevada is PISSED. Despite becoming bowl eligible, the Bowls Committee decided to put to Conference Teams in this game, and the rumor is they let CSU choose who they wanted to play. So instead of getting to go to sunny Orlando, the Conference sent a 5-7 San Jose Team there and Nevada gets Tuscon Arizona. Not happy.....both teams are evenly matched which should keep the scoring below this Total. CSU could have both of their starting safeties out, and Nevada's OC has also departed, taking a Head Coaching position. Nevada's scored 30+ points against FBS teams 4 times, but 3 of those were against Defense 98th or worse. A slight lean to Nevada for motivation, but Under seems to be the better play.

Good luck Red! 21 points with 11 minutes left in the 2Q. Pitt has not scored on offense and Navy chewing a lot of clock. Hopefully, now the game slows down. If they only get 1 more TD and end the half at 28 points it's not too bad. Good luck rest of the way.

Not a bet for me but i see this game just like the Navy game ....up and down the field. These two teams play junk all season and still combined to give up 800 yards of offense combined as an average. Bol. But 56 isnt very high with those stats

Just my thoughts, this game has the OVER written all over it.

1) Geo Tech who runs the Option far worse than Navy does, hung almost 400 yards of rushing on Pitt
2) Navy played .....no one other than ND and HOUSTON with a real offense. ( Please no Tulsa and Memphis talk)
3) ND and HOUSTON hung a TD shy of 100pts on our Midshipmen
4) Home game for Navy who scores about 35 pts a game at home.
5) Pitt runs TWO HUGE TEs who are no match for the Midships.

This game will be at 35+ by Half and coast to a 60+ over by the end. No one on Pitt can run with Reynolds Absolutely no one.

I just dont see this game being anything other than an OVER

Best of luck but this game is my pick of the season with the OVER.

Happy Holidays
PENNYWISE.

Will give you props for this call. I went with Red, but this post definitely had me concerned. Thought he might be right in the 2nd Quarter, but after halftime there was little doubt the game was going over. Congrats.

It is so hard to play an under in these bowls. Not saying unders cant happen, but to bet them is hard. You see the games so far, the tackling is frightening. No one wants to stick their head in there and get hurt during the WTF BOWL or the HANES UNDERWEAR BOWL. You see a ton of arm tackling and a ton of wide open receivers. Pitt just looked so bad versus GT and then to put them in this Military game was just a set up to fail game. My question was why didnt PITT just air it out all game. Navy had 8-9 men in the box at times. Sure the Pitt QB threw some INTs but one was because Boyd slipped and the other was desperation. He may have had another one but you get the jist. Otherwise, he was throwing where ever he wanted. I didnt understand the OFF Tackle runs when they were down 21. Made no sense. Anyway, the unders are rough and take guts to play. No one in these toilet bowls are going to MILK the clock or RUN the clock as some say they will do. They are on vacation. They are going to wing it around. Look at Navy throwing on 1st down. Stuff like that. Well, best of luck everyone. PENNYWISE
