Well he should've got way more than 2 in the first place though. Whole situation was handled poorly.

I think he should have got 6 games. What I don't understand is why is the NFL to blame for legal issues that do not affect the play of the NFL? They should base their decisions on the legal system and not be the ones who investigate crimes. It's very strange.

Yeah but that isn't the point. The point is the same people who bitch the product sucks are consuming as much, if not more of the product than ever.

I mean if people really can't stand it then just turn the channel or find something else to do, more entertainment options than ever these days.

That's not really a good argument. It's like sex, golf or pizza. Even if it's bad, it's still good.

Take away fantasy and gambling..and the nfl has lost about 80 percent of its audience. Again, the football product has decreased every year for the last decade...but gambling and fantasy has increased...I would argue that it's the driving force for the nfl

Are you slow? Maybe because a big majority of the NFL fan base are women and they most likely don't care for one of the NFL's players knocking out his wife.

Does a guy that commits a sexual assault get a pass at Microsoft because it doesn't impact his work performance? One of your dumber comments and that's saying a lot.

also fwiw there was a thread on here like a month ago asking for everyones fantasy sleepers and I said Bernard Pierce..

just sayin'...

Guess his 3 yards per carry average didn't excite people. Isn't he being beat out by a journeyman?

yeah he fumbled week 1 and they got down so went to Forsett since he is their 3rd down back but he is older and definitely can't be a lead back. Pierce will still likely be the #1 there.

As for the NFL, it is entertainment and I probably wouldn't watch much besides fantasy/gambling so no argument from me there. Although I have no clue what "the product has decreased every year for the last decade" even means. That is entirely subjective, some people like the NFL more than ever with more scoring.

I think 80% is a stretch. I honestly think without FF and gambling the NFL might lose 5-10% of their audience.

It wouldn't make a dent in attendence at all. Probably a slight ratings dent but not nearly as much as people think.

The biggest difference would come in the ratings disparities for blowouts. That is the big thing fantasy/gambling help, is that people watch the 4th quarter of games that nobody would have a reason to ever watch if those factors weren't in play. As far as the entire NFL fanbase though, there are obviously tons upon tons of people that just wanna root for their team every Sunday.

I agree, the NFL would be perfectly fine without FF, gambling, and office pools. But it does add extra ratings which is pushing the NFL in to the realm of a mega sport. Biggest and most profitable league in the world.

I will steal a line from the late great Beano Cook. An nfl official said they believe about 5 to 10 percent of their audience watches for gambling reasons...

Beano response " all 10 percent must live in my apartment complex"

It truly is unbelievable. And to think you can type something than a few posts later deny it. It's really fucking crazy.

Completely delusional, not sure I've ever seen anything like it, somebody losing it that completely.

Not a great commish at all. He has ruined the game by turning it into flag football. His desire to make the league all about scoring points and not giving the defense a chance to defend is disgraceful. He should now be pelted by non stop flags and assessed an automatic firing.

THIS in spades. If the Ray Rice coverup or whatever it ultimately is, is the trigger that gets him tossed, so be it, because the real damage to the game we love to watch has been what you said.

It's actually fun watching you getting your face rubbed in a dog pile each thread you post in.

Same characters, same stupid arguments. Not really that fascinating. Difference between you and I is I don't care about you. You are infatuated with me. It's weird.

It would suffer without gambling and fantasy. Esepcially now that the game is as poorly officiated as it is.

It needs a change. I am a life long nfl watcher and if I couldn't gamble on it....I would never watch it.
