This is just a question in general to all of you. If you are so miserable living here, and there are so many better places to live, then why do you stay here.

I just don't get it. This is not meant as an insult or criticism. I am genuinely curious as to why you all CHOOSE to stay here when to you it obviously is a terrible place to live. I know for sure that if I was this unhappy I wouldn't stay. Thank you for your input.

Is this not the oddest question ever...? People CHOOSE to stay because they either recognize potential OR remember feeling differently in the not-so-distant past. They choose to stay in the hopes that their actions (as well as other's) will make things better. Probably because they appreciate the idea of the country, and the freedoms it SHOULD be providing.
