No sense in arguing with Timely Hitting. He lives in his own world. He swears Penn State is the fastest team in the country.

Webster's may say underclassmen are freshman and/or sophomores only, but common sense, which isn't always applied here, would say underclassmen would also apply to juniors. And by the way, Penn State should crush Iowa, especially with the incentive of Texas Tech moving above them in the B.C.S.

Oh. Common sense? My college coach must have been a real idiot then. Last time I checked, when coaches discuss how UPPERclassmen must lead their teams and be the leaders, they're talking about Juniors and Seniors.

THERE WOULD BE NO WORD FOR UPPERCLASSMEN if they were just seniors. They would simply be called seniors. I can't believe I have to argue this. I can't believe people actually think that Juniors aren't UPPERclassmen. This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

I know when I was a Junior, playing baseball, I was an Uppclassmen and it was my responsibility to be a leader on the team. I can't believe this argument is actually happening. This is all because Fish can't admit that he was wrong. :missingte

Your ignorance is annoying.

If you think when someone states.......... "this team is starting all underclassmen" and in doing so indicates just Freshman and Sophmores, and does not include Juniors, you are 1000% W-R-0-N-G..........geezus.

A TEAM PLAYING ALL UNDERCLASSMEN means no SENIORS.

I'm serious, did you just starting watching and reading about sports this year???????????????????

I hope Viking611 reads what you think on this subject, he will be laughing and shaking his head 10x more than me..........and probably let you hear it 20x more than me.

WRONG

Starting TE Moeaki is a JUNIOR and WR Brodell is also only a JUNIOR........and Senior Myers is for all intensive purposes a 2nd string TE behind Moeaki.

Also, their 2nd leading rusher behind Greene is a FRESHMAN!

The Hawkeyes TOP SIX skill position players are UNDERCLASSMEN! Semi-starter/backup TE Myers is a Senior

Starting QB--Sophmore.....Stanzi
Starting RB-- Junior..........Greene
Starting RB-- Freshman......Hampton
Starting TE-- Junior......Moeaki
Staring WR-- Junior.....Stross
Starting WR-- Junior.....Brodell

Not real interested in getting into a pissing match here. Not that big of a deal to me personally, but I don't like my fandom being questioned.

I immediately thought freshman and sophomores as underclassmen, but as far as the draft goes, they do refere to Juniors and underclassmen as well. Easy to get mixed up with differing opinons, not a big deal.

But to say Myers is a 2nd string TE behind Moeaki may technically be correct when they announce the starting lineups each Saturday, but Myers is targeted a lot more in the passing game. Myers has 300+ yards recieving while Moeaki, due to multiple injuries, has yet to break the century mark on the season. So for all intensive purposes, Myers is a starter, and will likely start in place of Moeaki yet again this saturday.

AND Moeaki and Brodell are seniors. They are both applying for a medical redshirt for 2007 as they both suffered season ending injuries last year against Wisconsin (4th game of the year I believe). From what I have heard, Moeaki's probably will be granted and Brodell's probably will not. But neither have been granted yet, meaning they are currently seniors.

Moeaki and Brodell are listed as JR's on the roster and thus thought they were both granted the injury redshirt.

In your post you said it was still being up in the air on the status of this, is that still the case?

Also, is Hampton a redshirt or true freshman?

Thanks in advance,
FH

Both are still up in the air. Sounds like Brodell has little to no chance as he is a 5th year player, having redshirted in '04. Moeaki most likely will be granted the medical redshirt because he never redshirted as a freshman. Doesn't seem fair since they both suffered their injuries in the same game last season. But guess that's just how it goes.

Hampton is a true freshman.

If Greene jumps to the NFL as expected, Hampton will likely battle for the starting rb job with incoming Freshman Brandon Wegher. Wegher is a rivals 4 star, #15 nationally ranked HB from Souix City with a strong verbal to Iowa despite offers from Illinois, Auburn, Penn St, Texas Tech among others. Runs a 4.28 40, Bench 345, with a 36" vertical. Remember this kid, he could be one of the Hawkeye greats.

stickin' my nose in to say that we think IOWA +7.5 (-110) is a fairly friendly Side

This may not be the best of all Hawkeye teams, but their past 18 home games in Big Ten still have them at 15-3 when graded at +7

Take it back another three years and Iowa is 27-3 at Home vs BigTen when graded at -7

Hoping by kickoff I can get +300 on moneyline and I might pack it with my best NBA choice for Sunday for an 8x1 2Teamer.

No need to call out Illini on his opinion........he just missed this game, shit happens.

It certainly doesn't indicate how much he knows.........especially when he can critique this game as good as anyone not only on this forum, but in the nation.

Penn State has not defeated a team worthy of the top 20, and probably not even the top 30, all year.............Ohio State perhaps, if you cut them slack.

IOWA @ MINNESOTA is setting up to be a semi-interesting game to end the season.

OVER/UNDERS, BOWL GAMES, and the FLOYD OF ROSEDALE all at stake..............
