Tomlin says headset issues common when playing Patriots

"We were listening to the Patriots radio broadcast for the majority of the first half on our headsets," Tomlin said

I'm sure this is just a coincidence here.

Otherwise, I love the idea that a guy standing on the sidelines concealing what he is doing, why, and whom it is for is a "misinterpretation of a rule"

If I were the commissioner and belicheat told me that I would have thrown him out of the league.

Let's put the radio nonsense to bed right now. Happens all the time in every stadium.. But of course only an issue because it's the pats.

Too bad there isn't a page devoted to it on the nfl website.. Oh here it is:

http://operations.nfl.com/the-game/gameday-behind-the-scenes/nfl-gameday-frequency-coordinators/

How long til the league takes this down?

You only need to read the First line:
[h=5]Southwest Airlines pilots’ conversations, a rehearsal for a concert by Madonna and a food concession worker’s request for more popcorn all have one thing in common: Each has interfered with the frequency that delivers a coach’s play calls to his quarterback.[/h]

Wait, so now you Pats fans trust the NFL?

The NFL is competent and trust worthy?

My goodness, the depths you will go to in order to defend the indefensible.

Did not Goodell et al discover the room full of illegal tapes, etc and ordered them destroyed in 2007...before it got to the public.
It's not that it was done under him...but that he discovered it and looked away.

This part of the story comes from the Patriots legal counsel:

The league officials interviewed Belichick, Adams and Dee, says Glaser, the Patriots' club counsel. Once again, nobody asked how many games had been recorded or attempted to determine whether a game was ever swayed by the spying, sources say. The Patriots staffers insisted that the spying had a limited impact on games. Then the Patriots told the league officials they possessed eight tapes containing game footage along with a half-inch-thick stack of notes of signals and other scouting information belonging to Adams, Glaser says. The league officials watched portions of the tapes. Goodell was contacted, and he ordered the tapes and notes to be destroyed, but the Patriots didn't want any of it to leave the building, arguing that some of it was obtained legally and thus was proprietary. So in a stadium conference room, Pash and the other NFL executives stomped the videotapes into small pieces and fed Adams' notes into a shredder, Glaser says. She recalls picking up the shards of plastic from the smashed Beta tapes off the floor and throwing them away.

As a side note, this part of the story also comes from the Patriots counsel (probably a "hater" making up lies about the organization)

Inside a room accessible only to Belichick and a few others, they found a library of scouting material containing videotapes of opponents' signals, with detailed notes matching signals to plays for many teams going back seven seasons. Among them were handwritten diagrams of the defensive signals of the Pittsburgh Steelers, including the notes used in the January 2002 AFC Championship Game won by the Patriots 24-17.

What a coincidence, this happens all the time!!

From the start of the game through the opening 14 minutes of the first quarter, the Steelers’ coaches’ headsets were receiving the Patriots Radio Network broadcast of the game. The broadcast was so loud that the Steelers coaches were unable to communicate, and the NFL rule is that if one team’s headsets are not working the other team is supposed to be forced to take their headsets off. It’s what the NFL calls the Equity Rule. Strangely enough, whenever an NFL representative proceeded to the New England sideline to shut down their headsets, the Steelers headsets cleared. Then as the representative walked away from the New England sideline, the Steelers’ headsets again started to receive the Patriots game broadcast.

===
Coincidence:

The potential problems were vividly illustrated on Jan. 7, 2006, during the AFC wild-card playoff between the New England Patriots and the Jacksonville Jaguars in Foxboro, Mass. During the first half, radio chatter from Patriots security staff was interfering with the Jaguars’ primary coach-to-quarterback wireless system.

Coincidence:

The league also was reviewing a possible violation into the number of radio frequencies the Patriots were using during Sunday's game, sources said. The team did not have a satisfactory explanation when asked about possible irregularities in its communication setup during the game.

What an unlucky organization the Patriots are. I mean, this stuff keeps happening and it is all bullshit put forth by "haters"

Some people even argued it's an absolute certainty that Brady is suspended

And actually said / rooted for the NFL to prevail in federal court. Said it was - 700 Roger prevails.

Now those same people are once again showing total ignorance with respect to the facts.

I can only laugh, it's the only appropriate response.

If you're going to debate like a buffoon, I'm going to treat you accordingly

The NFL controls and is responsible for the communications.

The Patriots also had problems with their communications

Tom Brady completed 19 straight passes

Tom Brady threw for 4 TD's and 0 picks

The Steelers were manhandled by Gronk

Tomlin is a sore loser

Those are the FACTS

IMO, people are getting tired of being whipped by the Patriots

The Steelers think the Patriots cheated by tampering with headset communications on Thursday night at Gillette Stadium. But the headsets haven’t been perfect in Pittsburgh, either.
After the Steelers beat the Jets in the AFC Championship Game in January of 2011, the Jets said they were having problems communicating at Heinz Field. Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez said the problems were something he hadn’t previously encountered.
“It never really happened for that long of a time,” Sanchez said. “We had to use a walkie-talkie at one point and [offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer] was just yelling calls in at one point. It was just another challenge, and we almost overcame it.”
Sanchez said the headsets in Pittsburgh failed repeatedly.
“The problem was the headset kept going out multiple times during the game,” Sanchez said, “so I had to run over and get a couple calls, piece together some calls on the headset that came in broken up. It was one of those things we were fighting through. I was proud of our guys for trying to piece it together.”
So what’s the difference between that problem the Jets had in Pittsburgh, and the problem the Steelers had last night in New England? The biggest difference seems to be that the Jets didn’t accuse the Steelers of any wrongdoing, and Jets coach Rex Ryan said after the game that the communications issue wasn’t the reason the Jets lost the game. The Steelers haven’t been so accommodating toward the Patriots in the wake of last night’s loss.

I wonder if there will ever be an asterisk next to any Patriots records/wins/games?

Brady is still one of the best ever to play QB.......but makes me wonder why Belichick couldn't do anything at Cleveland?

Of course it always makes a difference when you have a great owner & great players around you, as well as good assistant coaches.......something Cleveland never had when he was there.......
