Sure is. Never in my wildest dreams in My America did I think the joyous occasion of the only POW we have being released alive would be turned into a Political Football. It is beyond sad, it's sick and disgusting. :ohno:. I shouldn't have been so foolish to think something like this would go beyond the usual cheap Political stunts.

Many of the nitwits here are trying to equate it to a 5 for 1 trade in the nba. Others are just getting marching orders and posting cartoon like parodies of movies. Sick people.

It's very sad. The guy has not even been proven guilty of anything. The way they talk about him and this trade is sick. Just absolutely demented individuals.

Well, then It's a good thing Israel isn't an NBA GM. They make trade of over 1000 for one of their precious POW's, and they should. We, and they, have a sacred obligation to get back our POW's. It is beyond sick how something a POW release can be Politicized.

So his fellow soldiers that served with him are sick and disgusting? 6 American soldiers lost their lives searching for him, they have a right to be upset if what they say is true.

I'm not talking about his platoon mates. They have the right to their feelings, and when/if a Military tribunal is called to further examine this, they will have their day in Military Court, along with Bergdahl. That's a seperate issue from getting our POW back. I'm talking about the media and the Politicians who have decided this strictly on Political grounds.

this trade is worse than the Vikings trade with the Cowboys to get Hershel Walker.

While the Vikings gave up their future and gave the Cowboys THREE Superbowls, at least they did get something of value in return.

This trade is akin to the Vikings giving the Cowboys three Superbowls and getting Ryan Leaf in return

Uh, the person in question was not a "POW" in any sense.

Anyway:

To pull off the prisoner swap of five Taliban leaders for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the White House overrode an existing interagency process charged with debating the transfer of Guantanamo Bay prisoners and dismissed long-standing Pentagon and intelligence community concerns based on Top Secret intelligence about the dangers of releasing the five men, sources familiar with the debate tell TIME.

The only thing sick here is your unfettered devotion to a lawless and incompetent President.

"POW" = "Hey mr. tally-ban, I'd like to tell you all about how and when my unit operates"

“Clearly he’s suspected of an offense, and that is desertion,” said Eugene Fidell, a military law expert who teaches at Yale Law School and is a former president of the National Institute of Military Justice.

Notice how in order to get to your (weird) beliefs, you have to cage the entire story in a lie. That lie is that this coward was a "POW"

All because you simply do not want to face the fact that the President you voted for is a dimwit.

You should just not comment . You are always wrong and a known liar.

Let the process play out, prove you wrong and then you can move onto the next line of bullshit.

We already know the military does what it can to get back POW's no matter the situation or speculations of what caused him to be a POW.

Hey stiff; There is no "process" that is going to "prove me wrong" and this coward was not a "POW" Anyway, since you're just another Obama worshipping dope, a documented liar and forum stiff, you should not comment.

Thanks.

BAS, the above 3 posts don't belong up here, they belong in the RR or The Poly Forum. Unlike this poster, I'm going to respect your edict and refrain from answering him in kind up here. If these Posts are still here in a few hours when I return, and/or this poster isn't given a well deserved 7 Day Time Out, then I will assume you're not serious in your edicts, and I'll answer it in kind up here.

Bipartisan agreement this was a bad idea:

Feinstein also said leaders of the House and Senate Intelligence panels were almost unanimously against a prisoner trade when it came up in 2011.
She said the chairmen and ranking Republicans of the “connected committees” spent a lot of time in 2011 reviewing the possibility of a prisoner swap and came out firmly opposed to releasing senior militants from the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay.
“There were very strong views and they were virtually unanimous against the trade,” she said.

They were unable to label him a deserter without talking with him and understanding his side of the story. In that case, if you are in a POW status, you continue to receive all pay and benefits. I have no problem with this part.
