I really blew it as something came up and took me away from my computer on Saturday and I missed the deadline. My late picks went 4-1 and would have put me in the hunt.

Question for JOH: Would your spreadsheet submission form allow for changes prior to the deadline? Or could it be adjusted to do so? Then we could put something in early and at least have that should we miss the deadline. I realize some have zero tolerance for those who miss the deadline, as it helps those who never miss. I'm sure it helped me win some $ last year, as I've never missed until now. But it may also discourage players from entering again. I think my suggestion would be a good thing for the continued and increased success and popularity of the contest in the long run, even if it meant using a different submission form. Thanks.

I wasn't suggesting to allow for partial entries. It would be a full entry, but we would be allowed to change it before the deadline. Many contests allow changes right up until the their deadlines. It's not a difficult feature technologically. But Google Forms probably can't handle this. It would require a more sophisticated entry form. But I really feel it would improve the Contest's success and popularity.

It's my understanding we have been sticking with similar rules to the LVH Contest. No changes are allowed in that one. I'll defer to BAS as to what this one holds for the future.

Vote for no changes in the future...run it just like LVH contest. I don't see how it would discourage players in the future... set a damn timer if you keep forgetting...

Setting a calendar alarm or reminder on one's phone are good ideas! In my case, I didn't forget. I just got called away a couple hours before the deadline and couldn't make it back. First time I ever missed.

I didn't expect much support from current players as it is to our advantage when one of our competitors forgets or misses a deadline. But if I were running the Contest and was interested in growing it, I would implement this one simple suggestion of allowing changes right up until the deadline as many contests do. Once implemented, it would be very popular. I would bet that quite a few players who missed deadlines did not come back to play the next year.

Sure, you can get hung up on trying to be just like the real SuperContest, but you could also make it better than the real SuperContest. We don't have the same deadline for example.

I see where you are coming from but I have the opposite opinion on your theory... I would want to enter a tourney and have people forget to put plays in to better my odds.

This just happened to me this week. Had to work and was overwhelmed with work and never got a chance to get in my picks. The moment I got time was right now...guess just have to bite the bullet. Tough to swallow (not saying it would have put me in the hunt for first but still mathematically in range for money. But can't blame anyone

Basically have 3 days to enter picks..shit comes up, power goes out etc etc but I think a 3 window window allows for more then enough cushion if disaster strikes. I always enter early..probably cost me some picks by not getting late info but haven't missed a deadline either. Gotta take the good with the bad

This contest has grown year over year with strict following of the lvh concept. Dont see any sign of it slowing down and honestly if close to 20k in the kitty is as good as it gets I think we can live with that
