A Gallup poll has found that for a third consecutive year, a majority of Americans (52 percent) agree that it is not the responsibility of the federal government to make sure all Americans have healthcare coverage

Still working!

http://dailycaller.com/2014/11/28/gallup-peak-number-of-americans-delaying-medical-care-over-costs/

One in three Americans has put off seeking medical treatment in 2014 due to high costs, according to Gallup — the highest percentage since Gallup began asking the question in 2001.
Thirty-three percent of Americans have delayed medical treatment for themselves or their families because of the costs they’d have to pay, according to the survey. Obamacare, of course, had promised that it would help make health care more affordable for everyone, but the number of people who can’t afford a trip to the doctor has actually risen three points since 2013, before most Obamacare provisions took effect.
The hardest-hit: the middle-class. Americans with an annual household income of between $30,000 and $75,000 began delaying medical care over costs more in 2014, up to 38 percent in 2014 from 33 percent last year; among households that earn above $75,000, 28 percent delayed care this year, compared to just 17 percent last year.

GRUBER: IF OBAMACARE DOESN’T WORK, THEN WE’LL HAVE TO GO ‘SINGLE PAYER’

Posted on Dec 1, 2014 at 1:02 PM in Politics | 43 Comments
By The Right Scoop

Jonathan Gruber is on record saying that Obamacare is the last great hope for the private insurance industry and if it fails, then we’ll have to switch to a single payer health care system.

We all know that while Gruber may be in love with Obamacare, the truth is it was designed to get us to a ‘Single Payer’ system by destroying the private insurance industry. There’s no way they can survive long-term with the demands that have been put on them by Obama and the Democrats.

If the GOP had any balls the Kenyan would have been exposed and out of office by now.

Instead, they allow him to stay and we get one egregious infraction after another.

Joe, I know it’s frustrating but I’ll be damned if I’m going to let it give me an ulcer. All we can do is wait for the Good ole Boy faction of the party to die off.

And I mean that literally, for whatever reason they keep getting elected again and again. So our only option is to wait for Father Time to do his thing.

Genetically speaking I have about 25 years left so maybe I’ll see it come to pass or maybe I‘ll pass before it happens.

We shall see.

Obama DELETED His Website Telling American People They Could Keep Their Plans

PATRICK HOWLEY

The Obama administration’s original government website promoting Obamacare has been deleted.

On the last day of the Obamacare enrollment period, uncovered records reveal the deleted website assured Americans they could keep their existing health insurance plans.

HealthReform.gov was the first major online messaging project of Kathleen Sebelius’ Department of Health and Human Services. It was later replaced by the glitch-ridden

Obamacare enrollment website Healthcare.gov.

But after Healthcare.gov went live, HealthReform.gov went dark.

Thankfully, the Internet’s “WayBack Machine” gives us a shot of HealthReform.gov’s final big screaming homepage: “Keeping the Health Plan You Have…The rule announced today preserves the ability of the American people to keep their current plan if they like it.”

The White House did not immediately return a request for comment on the deletion of HealthReform.gov.

[ What a fucking joke this President is. ]

[h=1]Politics: Collapse: Hawaii sqaundered $205 million on its soon-to-be-shuttered ObamaCare exchange.[/h]

To be shuttered this year.
Back when ObamaCare was first rolling out, we chronicled the horror stories associated with the various state exchanges. In the initial months of the ACA launch, the effort put forth by Hawaii was easily one of the biggest failures, managing to register a whopping zero customers for "quality, affordable, healthcare." Still, they pressed on - determined to make their exchange the kind of "liberal utopia" success story they believed it could be.
....And they failed spectacularly.
Despite burning through over two hundred million taxpayer dollars, Hawaii's exchange has failed to come anywhere near its enrollment goals. So, the state legislature has decided not grant its $28 million bailout request, and the exchange is beginning the process of shutting everything down.
Americans for Tax Reform has more of the ugly numbers:
According to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser the Hawaii Health Connector will stop taking new enrollees on Friday and plans to begin migrating to the federally run Healthcare.gov. Outreach services will end by May 31, all technology will be transferred to the state by September 30, and its workforce will be eliminated by February 28.
While the exchange has struggled since its creation, it is not for lack of funding. Since 2011 Hawaii has received a total of $205,342,270 in federal grant money from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). In total, HHS provided nearly $4.5 billion to Hawaii and other state exchanges, with little federal oversight and virtually no strings attached.
Despite this generous funding, the exchange has underperformed from day one. In its first year, Hawaii enrolled only 8,592 individuals – meaning it spent almost $23,899 on its website for each individual enrolled. Currently over 37,000 individuals are enrolled in Hawaii’s exchange - well below the estimated 70,000 enrollees that is required to make the website financially viable. Unfortunately, taxpayers will have to hand out an additional $30 million so that Hawaii can migrate to the federal system.
Another ObamaCare success story.
The question is: what will lawmakers do when they can no longer ignore the fact that the entire system is headed for the same fate? Will they have the stones to repeal it, or will they simply shuffle us all into a single payer neglect-a-thon like the UK's disastrous NHS?

[h=1]OBAMACARE INSURANCE PREMIUMS TO JUMP, UP TO 51%[/h]

[h=2]Major insurers in some states are proposing up to 51 percentpremium increases for health plans sold under the Affordable Healthcare and Patient Protection Act, commonly referred to as Obamacare. Despite single digit increases for 2015, insurance companies are seeing their costs jump and are demanding to be compensated with dramatically higher rates.[/h]When Insurance plans proposed 2015 rates last summer, they had only a little information about the health of the new customers they expected to sign up during the fall Obamacare expansion. Big insurers tended to ask for increases of less than 10%, while some smaller insurers tried to under-cut pricing by the major’s to take market share, according to theWall Street Journal.
Under Obamacare, insurers must file proposed premium rates with their local state regulator and the federal government by June. But some states have already started publicly disclosing the premium requests. Due to the high utilization costs from people newly enrolled under Obamacare, the 2016 insurance premiums are about to skyrocket.
According to states that have released rate requests, New Mexico’s market leader Health Care Service Corp. is asking for an average premium spike of 51.6 percent; Tennessee’s top insurer BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee wants an average spike of 36.3%; Maryland’s market leader CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is requesting an average spike of 30.4%; and Oregon’s top insurer, Moda Health, is seeking a 25% spike.
The Obama Administration’s only legal power regarding healthcare premiums is the right to ask insurers seeking increases of 10% or more to explain themselves. There is no federal power to force rate cuts. State insurance regulators can force carriers to scale back requests they believe are not justified, but the carriers can drop coverage and cause a crisis.
Obamacare supposedly sought to fix two problems: coverage and cost. To extend coverage, the law made it compulsory for Americans to have health insurance, or pay a fine. It also offered subsidies for those who could not afford it and barred insurance firms from charging people more if they have “pre-existing conditions.” Before the exchanges arrived in 2013, some 41.3 million Americans lacked health insurance. That number fell to 30 million, but only because 48% of Obamacare subscribers received “premium assistance.”
President Obama claimed he compromised the design of Obamacare in 2010 to achievefiscal neutrality over a 10 year projection to avoid increasing the deficit spending. But to achieve that mirage, the implementation was delayed for three years and the premium cost increases were ramped up over the next three years.
(My own insurer, Aetna, left the “individual market” rather than participate in the Covered California exchange. I was forced to purchase a 2014 Blue Shield policy on the state exchange. The premium for my wife and I, who have no major health issues, almost doubled from $740 per month with Aetna to $1,340 under Covered California.)
Although the inflation rate was only +.8 percent last year, national health spending grew by +5.0 percent. The 2014 health spending share of national GDP came in at 17.8%, up from 16.0% when President Obama took office. Prescription drugs were the fastest growing healthcare expenditure last year, rising by at a +13.0 percent rate.
The Affordable Care Act was rushed into law and implemented with what now appears to have been grossly defective actuarial assumptions regarding costs. The same consumer groups that fought for Obamacare are already demanding federal and state officials put premiums under the microscope to curb some increases.
But with healthcare inflation running far ahead of inflation and insurers saying their huge proposed rates only reflect the revenue they need to pay claims, Obamacare seems destined to loom as a financial and political crisis this summer.

Oral arguments on March 4 revealed a divided court. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Anthony Kennedy seemingly are key to the outcome, which won't be known until late June. If Upheld, premiums up a little sooner. How will a person pay back their subsidy received the past 12 months?

Average Obamacare Subsidy--$3,312; Payout to Date--$4.7 Billion
