Much like Global Warming, the debate is over. The ACA is a failure, just like Obama’s presidency.

Got a question. If one contracts Ebola or at least exhibits the symptoms who pays for the treatment etc. Does Obamacare cover Ebola or is it excluded. Regardless the hospitals involved are out a lot of money. What is the personal responsibility for an Ebola patient as far as finances go. Is there a deductable etc. just wondering.

Just ask Nancy. If she doesn’t know, ask Sylvia.

Spoiler alert! When it comes to covering the uninsured, Obamacare has proven itself to be one giant expansion of Medicaid. A new report released Wednesday reveals the total coverage increase for the first half of 2014. While total coverage increased by 8,538,327 individuals, enrollment in Medicaid accounted for 71 percent of that growth.

Check out the infographic below for the full breakdown of the numbers.

Covering pre-existing conditions and ‘essential benefits’ raising insurance plan costs

Over 214,000 doctors won't participate in the new plans under the Affordable Care Act (ACA,) analysis of a new survey by Medical Group Management Association shows.

That number of 214,524, estimated by American Action Forum, is through May 2014, but appears to be growing due to plans that force doctors to take on burdensome costs. It's also about a quarter of the total number of 893,851 active professional physicians reported by the Kaiser Family Foundation.

In January, an estimated 70% of California's physicians were not participating in Covered California plans.

McConnell himself campaigned on repealing Obamacare "root and branch," and several of his caucus' newest members made similar promises: Joni Ernst, the senator-elect from Iowa, said repealing Obamacare would be her first priority in the Senate. And conservative power players like Sen. Ted Cruz won't be satisfied with anything less than the biggest swing for the fences (if that).

So far, so good...

After the repeal fervor fades, however, Senate Republicans are likely to turn to measures that have some hope of passage, including targeted attacks on unpopular parts of the Affordable Care Act.

And here's where we start getting into bad territory.

If it's unpopular, then I'm at a loss to understand what the hell is the risk involved with trying to rip out the roots of this thing?

The article goes on...

Then there are the purely political votes. Republican aides have said, for example, that Obama will almost surely be forced to veto a bill repealing the health care law's individual mandate. There's no question he would do so -- the law wouldn't function without it. But simply holding the vote, especially closer to 2016, would put Democratic incumbents in a tough spot and put a deeply unpopular part of Obamacare back in the spotlight.

Mitch McConnell can back the dims into a corner by doing this. Will they vote to save their own asses, or will they toe the party line? My guess is the former. Maybe the best strategy is to do exactly this, then a full repeal in 2016 if the GOP takes the presidency (but please, no Jeb Bush).

Curious to see if dick-sucker Harry Reid restores the filibuster during a lame-duck session before next year. And hey, if America wants them to work together, then I guess we won't be needing that filibuster crap anymore...right, Senator?

POLL: OBAMACARE WAS KEY ISSUE

Posted on Nov 7, 2014 at 2:34 PM in Politics | 69 Comments
By Joe Guest

A poll released Thursday morning shows that Obamacare was an important issue for people who showed up to vote, proving once again that the GOP has a mandate to change the law.

Only 12% voted to send a positive message about Obamacare while 28% voted to send a negative message. In 2010 when the “wound” was fresh, 45% voted to send an anti-Obamacare message.

The party breakdown gives an even better picture:

Only 4% Independents and 26% Democrats voted to send a positive Obamacare message. while 28% Independents and 55% Republicans voted to send an anti-Obamacare message.

The low interest by Democrats to defend Obamacare (only 26% of them) compared to the vibrant interest by Republicans to send a negative message (55% of them) is probably a reason why Dem turnout was suppressed while GOP turnout elevated. As Obama told the GOP during the shutdown:Go out and win an electionif you want to change the law.

Well Mr. President. The GOP won an election. — an election where Obamacare was the most used issue in the ads in the closing weeks.

Obamacare may not have enough enrollees to stay solvent

Fewer than 10 million projected; 13 million needed to stay solvent

The administration on Monday said fewer than 10 million Americans will enroll in Obamacare’s health exchanges this go-around, well short of the 13 million target congressional scorekeepers deemed critical to its economics, suggesting another rocky rollout in the law’s second year of full operation.

Obamacare Year Two: Sticker Shock And Hundreds Of Thousands Losing Plans

The enrollment date for year two of Obamacare is Nov. 15. That’s the day people can start enrolling and re-enrolling in health plans for 2015. It’s also the day enrollees will find out what the plans are going to cost them. That, according to one insurance broker, is when customers will be in for some serious “sticker shock.”

National Journal’s Kristine Frazao reports, “Hundreds of thousands, if not more, will find themselves without medical insurance if they fail to sign up through a state exchange or healthcare.gov. People have just four weeks to get it done.”

Ed Kafes, an insurance broker in Maryland, told Frazao that when it comes to premiums “people will be in for sticker shock.” Prices in Kafes’ area are expected to rise as much as 20 percent.

And, Kafes tells Frazao, “The products are not what they’re used to. There’s more financial exposure after the deductible.”

The penalties for not buying government approved insurance are increasing this year as well. For an individual, the penalty increases from $95 to $325, and for a family of four, the increase is from $285 to $975.

Or, maybe they knew this would happen all along and flat out LIED to the American people. After all, these are very, VERY educated people making intelligent informed decisions.

[h=1]Gallup: 'New numerical low' for Obamacare[/h]
Support for Obamacare continues to decline, with the law hitting a new low in approval, and a new high in disapproval, as the second enrollment period has opened for Americans, according to Gallup.
Just 37 percent approve of the Affordable Care Act, 1 percentage point less than the previous low recorded in January
