1. why would you trust the police report. police have manipulated reports before. i dont believe anything the cop says any more then what gates says.
2. long history of racial profiling with the cambridge police department.
3. guy was inside his house, showed ID, told him what he thought of them and still got taken away. theres a little something i like to call free speech. people will say well you can't talk that way to the law i say why not, is this a dictatorship?
4. cop didnt give his badge and name when gates demanded it, which cops are supposed to do.
5. i just see so many idiot cops out there that im glad obama put the heat on them. not even racial wise, but they are getting too out of control. white guy was just gunned down by a cop a day ago here and it is suspected that the cop will have charges brought up on him.

Reply: Walk a mile in their shoes sometime partner. It is not a cake walk and there are plenty of guys out there like Gates, that is not a racially exclusive attitude. When you need a cop, god forbid you ever do, they will be there buddy, count on it. CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) - The white police sergeant criticized by President Barack Obama for arresting black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. in his Massachusetts home is a police academy expert on racial profiling.
Cambridge Sgt. James Crowley has taught a class on racial profiling for five years at the Lowell Police Academy.
Academy Director Thomas Fleming says Crowley is "good role model" who was hand-picked for the job by former police Commissioner Ronny Watson, who is black.
In the class, Crowley teaches officers not to single people out based on their ethnic backgrounds.
Obama has said the Cambridge officers "acted stupidly" in arresting Gates last week after a woman reported a suspected break-in at his home.
Crowley has maintained he did nothing wrong.

I think Gates is shooting for a 1 year sabatical with pay from Harvard. What an embarrassment to an established University. Things like this put us back 40 years and he teaches this stuff. How do you think the rest of the world looks at this. We are a laughing stock because of over educated people like Gates who have no tolerance......period.
