Hey Djax,

One big reason, is that the game is in Houston. Rockets have only lost 8 games at the Toyota Center all season, and they are 16-2 SU in their last 18 games at home. The oppurtunity to take them at a pick at home, presents us with very good value, imo. Also, (and perhaps more importantly), the 1-on-1 matchups are in favor of Houston. Ming tends to get the best of Howard, and Houston's perimeter players matchup well with those of Orlando's. Their h2h history, indicates just that. In the 13 games, Houston has played against Orlando (since Orlando drafted Howard in 2004) Houston is 12-1 ATS when playing Orlando and 11-2 SU. Orlando getting too much respect, in this spot, considering, which made it difficult to not back the Rockets.

GL to you tonight, Djax..

Thanks fellas..An unusually large card tonight, so let's see how it plays out..

Action play:

San Antonio Spurs –2 (1.5)

Home team is 5-0 ATS between the two ballclubs. Spurs 6-2 ATS when playing with no days rest, at home. Spurs also have historically dominated the Blazers, they are 20-3 SU against the Blazers in the last 23 games played. Spurs 5-0 SU in the last five against the Blazers in San Antonio, and 6-1 ATS in the last 7 in San Antonio. Big game for both teams, in terms of playoff positioning. I’ll take the home at what is virtually a pick.

Action play:

Spurs/Blazers Over 180.5 (2)

Over is 6-2 in the last 8 games between Blazers and Spurs. 4 of 5 of Portland’s last 5 road games, have gone over this total. The one that did not stayed under by 1/2 a point. 7 of San Antonio’s last 8 games, have gone over this total. I have the Over/Under, 12 points higher, so I am also showing good value. Total is way off here, imo. All 3 games between these teams this season, have gone over this total, and I don’t see anything changing tonight. Over for me.

Action play:

Washington Wizards +16.5 (1.5)

No surprise to see the Cavs this heavily favored at home, as the public loves to back Lebron James and company. But the Wizards always play the Cavs tough. A quote from Lebron James after the loss to Washington last week, “Records never matter when you play the Wizards, It doesn't matter if you're in first place or who is not in first place. It's always going to be like that every time we play them.” Wizards 4-1 ATS in the their last 5 against Cleveland. Wizards also 2-1 SU in the season series. Their one loss to the Cavs, which was in Cleveland, saw Washington lead throughout most of the game, and a late 4th quarter run by the Cavs earned them a 4 point victory. A lot of points here, considering, so I’ll gladly back the big dog.

Action play:

Memphis Grizzlies +14.5 (1.5)

Memphis playing very good basketball lately, they have won 4 of their last 5 games overall, and nearly pulled out a victory last night against the Blazers, to make it 5 straight wins. They have also played well, on the road, where they have quietly gone 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games away from home. Memphis has given Orlando trouble, in the past, and tends to play the Magic very tough. They are 10-3 SU against Orlando the last 13 times they have played them, and 10-3 ATS. Once again, a lot of points, considering, so I will gladly back the big dog.

Action play:

Toronto Raptors +7 (1.5)

Not sure how the oddsmakers can justify making Indiana a 7 pt favorite over anyone, let alone against a Toronto ballclub, that has played well of late, winning 6 of their last 8 games overall. Also, the Raptors are 6-2 SU and ATS in their last 8 games verse the Pacers. Indiana 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games at home, and now getting 7 points? I’ll take the dog, here, who has a chance of winning this one SU, imo.

Small play:

Hornets –2.5 (1)

Suns all but out of the playoff picture in the West, and their performance against above ,500 teams is largely to blame. They are 13-27 ATS against teams with winning records this season. Also 7-16 ATS as an Underdog, and 14-23 ATS on the road this year, and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games, Hornets, 5-0 SU, and ATS in their last 5 games against the Suns. At what is virtually a pick, I’ll back a Hornets team, still fighting for playoff positioning in the crowded Western Conference, over a Phoenix team that is all but eliminated from playoff contention., and has little left to play for.

Action play:

Dallas Mavericks –3 (1.5)

As great as Utah has been at home this season, that’s how terrible they have been on the road. They tend to struggle against good offensive teams that average 100+ points on offense, such as the Mavericks. They are 12-21 ATS against teams, that average 100+ per game. Utah is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games, and has lost 6 of their last 8 games on the road. The Mavericks are 10-1 SU against Utah in the last 11 games these teams have played in Dallas. Dallas also 11-1 SU in their last 12 games at home. I’ll take a very good home team, in Dallas, who is 28-9 SU at home this year, over the road weary Jazz, to cover what is a small number.

Action play:

Denver/Thunder Over 209 (1.5)

4 of Denver’s last 5 games overall, have gone over this total. 7 of Denver’s last 8 home games have gone over this total. All 3 h2h matchups this season between the Thunder and Nuggets have gone Over this total. Don’t see much changing tonight. The Over is 5-0 in the last 5 games, between the two ball clubs, and the Over is 9-2 between the teams, when playing in Denver. Would not be surprised one bit to see the Nuggets put up 115 + points, against a Thunder team that has surrendered an average of 106 ppg in their last 7 games. The only worry is whether the Thunder put up enough points on the board, so going to make this a small play, but still like the play regardless.
