I believe in recent years the committee has set the precedent by choosing the 4 best teams and tagging the SEC as the top conference while defending their choices.

With that knowledge in hand, I would think the champion of that conference is in. (Alabama)

Michigan is definitely in at 13-0.

Washington I think is a lock also. They have some impressive wins albeit at the time of the polls but the wins they have over those teams aided in their opponents being dropped in the rankings.

Texas has the win against Alabama, which didn't look that good 4 weeks into the season but looks really good now as Alabama has trended upward the last 8+ weeks!

FSU did what they were asked to do every week for 13 weeks and ended up 13-0. The ACC was down this year and that 13-0 really isn't impressive, but nonetheless it's 13-0!

If the committee chooses the 4 best teams it is simple it would be Michigan Texas Alabama and Georgia, because each of those teams would be favored over Washington and FSU on a neutral field.

Now we all know that won't happen. So, what is the answer?

It is my opinion that Michigan is #1.
It is my opinion that they make Washington #2
It is my opinion they make Alabama #3
It is my opinion they make Texas #4

I will understandably take criticism for this post but this is just a hypothesis based on what I have seen in prior years selection.

No need to keep debating each others predictions as we will find out soon enough what the playoff will be.

Any way you slice it, the expansion came 1 year too late!

Oh, by the way, the better question might be if there was a 8 team playoff this year.....how would you rank those 8 teams?

you think SEC gets left out?
I think they should. There are three undefeated conference champions and a one loss conference champion who beat Alabama on their own field… by double digits. There really shouldn’t be any debate at all.

Exactly correct….except for the seeding. I would have:

Michigan
Washington
Texas
Florida State

CFB fans here goes.
Who knows who will play who but my prediction is:
Michigan, Washington, Texas and Alabama gets in due to the committee's love affair with the SEC.

Louisville QB looked like he was on the take.

FSU scored least points of p5 teams who won. Anyone with a sack knows they are not a top 4 or 5 or 6 team. Dawgs and OSU better.

If committee puts FSU in it’ll prove they are incompetent

I don’t see Michigan playing long horns or Bama in first round . They will put in FSU it’s a lock. Didn’t Biden say he went to Michigan? Not yet

One of 4 best teams = not FSU
Which means they should not be in. Simple.
What is your opinion on who the best team is?
Just give them the title since playing the games doesn't actually matter.
Remeber when Oregon "should" have beaten washington the first time only to then lose on a neutral field. Most people would have just put Oregon in had they not played the actual game because they assumed they would win.
Much rather a team lose by 50 and given the opportunity the "TEAM" earned than play on peoples opinions.

Can you imagine being a kid on 13-0 FSU, and you get left out because your QB gets injured? I would see no problem with them getting the idea "we may as well fix games, rather than win games."

They got it right
Oh bullshit. Bama isn't any more deserving than Ohio State who has the exact same arguement.

You should send a thank you card to your Auburn friends.

All that committe did was rationalize a way to eliminate a deserving team for one of the committee's favorites. The playoffs should be about achievement....not entitlement.
