THE RED SHEET
OCTOBER 26, 2024VOLUME 56 - NUMBER 9
WISCONSIN 27 - Penn State 24 - (7:30 EDT) -- Line opened at Penn State minus 6½, and is still minus 6½. Nothing
will be left on the field when this brutal war is completed. The Badgers of Wisconsin were formerly
offensive machines, known for their overland game, which was always among the elite, with the
addition of Russell Wilson completing that "O", along with a brutal "D", with low scoring games the
norm. However, the past 3 weeks have seen a reborn "O", with a 115-15 pt edge. Of course the 3rd
ranked Nittany Lions allow only 14.5 ppg, but have OhioSt up next wk. Badgers do enough to take it.
RATING: WISCONSIN 89
Michigan State 30 - MICHIGAN 24 - (7:30) -- Line opened at Michigan minus 5, and is still minus 5. The Wolverine
letdown from last year's championship season continues, with current 4-3 SU & 1-6 ATS runs, as
their only cover coming as a home dog, while ranking 119th in total offense, as well as slipping on "D",
where they rank 42nd, as compared to last year's #2 placement. Spartans own the series, covering
an amazing 12-of-15 vs the Wolves, while the visitor has covered to the tune of 10-1 in Michigan
outing, with MichSt coming in off a season-high 32 pts & 27 FDs, in 18-pt cover vs Iowa. It's all setup.
RATING: MICHIGAN STATE 89
Texas 27 -VANDERBILT 24 - (4:15) -- Line opened at Texas minus 19, and is now minus 18½. Three straight dogs atop
this publication is a true rarity. But we just cannot continue to watch the weekly exploits of the 'Dores,
without taking part. As noted on Pointwise, the dog has covered All Six Vanderbilt games, & not of the
squeaking variety, as those ATS wins came by 20, 14½, 17, 28½, 20, & 14 pts. This seems a
duplicate of upset of Alabama, as 23½ pt dogs, catching the 'Tide off its epic battle with Georgia, just
as in this one with the 'Dores catching the Steers off their brutal loss to Georgia, falling from #1 in land.
RATING: VANDERBILT 88
Tulane 52 - NORTH TEXAS 34 - (12:00) -- Line opened at Tulane minus 9½, and is now minus 8. Seems we're not the
only ones who appreciate the consistency of that NoTexas offense, which ranks 3rd, 3rd, & 9th in
total, passing, & scoring, behind the overhead prowess of QB Chandler Morris (from TCU), who has
an average of 346.3 PYpg & 23/8. However, the Meanies rank 111th in total "D", as well as 114th in
passing "D", which is catnip for oncoming 'Wave, which is at 45.3 ppg in its last 4 outings, following
their early season failures, covering their last road game by 32 pts. Royal battle, with Wave taking it.
RATING: TULANE 88
COLORADO 41 - Cincinnati 24 - (10:15) -- Line opened at Colorado minus 4, and is now minus 5½. A quick peek of
our logs shows that this one will be worth the price, as both the Colorado Buffaloes the Cincinnati
Bearcats have won & covered their last 5 games, Cincy by 14½, 30½, ½, 9½, & 5½, with CU by 12,
5½, 41½, ½, & 29½. Sure CU has been pegged as a one-dimensional team, & possibly correct, 'tho
cannot ignore Sanders' 2,268 PYs & 19/8. Cincy's 103rd ranked "D" (98th vs the pass) the edge.
RATING: COLORADO 88
Baltimore 37 - CLEVELAND 15 - (1:00 - FOX) -- Line opened at Baltimore minus 9½, and is now minus 9, Difficult to
believe that the public has moved the spread ½ pt in Cleveland's direction, as the Browns seem worse
by the week (1 win), with the loss of Deshaun Watson the final nail, as Cleveland is on its worst skein
since '17, while the Ravens continue along, with current 3-0-1 ATS run made possible with a 33.5 ppg
killing stat. Always a worry when laying double digits in the NFL, but these 2 are worlds apart. Rout.
RATING: BALTIMORE RAVENS 88
