Kobe's had plenty of failures in his career on big stages. 'Pistons '04, Celtics '08, Mavs '11...And he obviously ran pure to get drafted by the Lakers who had Shaq about to come into 1 of the most dominant runs for a player in NBA history. Bit different than going to the '03 Cavs.
But when he loses, it just comes off as the other team being better than his. Ho hum.
When the 6'8 265 pound guy loses, it always is gonna feel like something went wrong. Even if it he is playing against a team that had a top 3 player join the other best team in the league. When your that much more physically dominant than your opponents, your weaknesses are going to stick out more.
But there is very little to suggest that Kobe is better than LeBron is high leverage situations (and there is basically nothing to suggest he is a better overall player if you're looking at the right areas)
